 – Relevant for article talk, moved with consensus. Sam Sailor Sing 20:33, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi there, who are you please? I recently did some changes on Stanely Enow's page which you have removed. The information you have there are incorrect and I would really not like to have the page up with all those incorrect information. I am his PR and I have people already asking me about the incorrect information. Please get back to me as I have no idea how to use this Wiki Talk Page. Thanks ModeMaisonPR (talk) 00:16, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

@ModeMaisonPR: I am a Wikipedian. Some of the changes you made weren't constructive, and this is why I reverted your edits. For starters, "solo_singer" should be on the background parameter. If you check the Infobox musical artist template, you'll clearly see that "Solo_artist" is not one of the mandatory options. The MAMA awards is known as the MTV Africa Music Awards. There's no such thing as the MTV Base Africa Music Awards. These two changes you made to the article are unacceptable. The rest of your edits were copyedits. Some of your edits were okay, but others weren't. I will restore the correction you made to the Persondata. You need to provide a reliable reference to support the alias you added. Versace1608 (Talk) 00:34, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Please could you revert the changes I made to the personal data on the page. I thought you were to do it straight away. It is embarrassing to see those mistakes on there. Stanley Enow is not from the West region, his alias is Bayangi boy and not with a "u", there are also some grammatical errors I corrected. His name should be Stanley Ebai Enow. You dont see the other stars start their page with their surnames! This is common in Cameroon to appear on our documents but it is not like that internationally especially on personal pages. What prove do you need? If you cant make these changes until I provide back up, please take the page down. It is rather embarrassing for us to have this up. Thanks ModeMaisonPR (talk) 06:33, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

@ModeMaisonPR: I corrected the format of his name per your request. If he is not from the West region, where is he from? According to the bio on his official website, he is from the West region of Cameroon. If you disagree, you should provide a source to counter that. Bayangi is spelled correctly in the article. Feel free to edit the page again and remove grammatically errors from it. I don't want you to get discourage. You made a mistake earlier and I hope you understand why I did what I did. You don't need to get so worked up over this. Versace1608 (Talk) 13:13, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I am not sure why I cannot amend where Stanley is from. On his official wensite page it states he is "born and raised" in the west region but not that he is a "native" of the west region. He is called Bayangi boy because he is from the Bayangi tribe found precisely in Manyu in the South West region of Cameroon. It is rather embarrassing for us that such an important information is written incorrectly. I have even had people query that with me and as his PR, it does not look good. Our names in Cameroon typically dictate our origins and "Ebai Enow" are typically Bayangi names. Please verify this on google or advise me on what I need to do. Thanks ModeMaisonPR (talk) 15:46, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

I understand what you're saying, but you need to provide a reliable source that authoritatively states this. Wikipedia relies on verifiability, and not on word of mouth. Try to find newspaper or magazine articles that support this information. Versace1608 (Talk) 16:00, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
@ModeMaisonPR: If he is born in the West Region, he is a native of the West Region. Whatever tribe or clan his parents stem from is irrelevant in this discussion. Best, Sam Sailor Sing 16:13, 10 June 2014 (UTC) (please Reply to icon mention me on reply)
@Sam Sailor: Well said. This is what many Africans don't understand. Most of us think that one's origin should be where their parents are from. I can remember telling a sock puppet of Stanleytux several months ago. Versace1608 (Talk) 16:24, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

"This is what many Africans don't understand" is a rather presumptuous statement from your part. So are you the one to come and educate us on how we should view our origins? If in your culture it is understood differently in ours it is different thank you very much. We are a native of where our ancestry lie not our birthplace. Saying he is a westerner takes it away from his mum and dad who are proud south westerners. In any case, enough of the toing and froing here is a link to Stanley's updated website. Please amend to reflect this. http://stanleyenowofficial.com/bio/ Thank you very much ModeMaisonPR (talk) 18:17, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

I am an African myself. No need for the attacks bro. I was only pointing out the truth of the matter. User:Sam Sailor has already explained it, and the information will not be change. Enow is a native of Bafoussam. His parents being a native of Manyu doesn't make him one. If you disagree with what we're saying, take your concerns to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard. Versace1608 (Talk) 18:34, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
Hello everyone
Really I think the main goal of Wikipedia and wikipedians is to provide more knowledge and the right one... Since the page has been created we have learned more about culture and English language.. For this article the main problem stands on the word "native" I think @ModeMaisonPR: want people to know he is from the bayangi tribe which is in the south west region of the country and for knowledge this is very important! According to the definition of "native" in the oxford dictionary by saying he is born in bafoussam (in the infobox) we don't really need to say he is native of bafoussam in the article but we most add the information he is from the bayangi tribe very important for knowledge let us give the good information.— Preceding unsigned comment added by The girl Nini.C (talkcontribs) 19:29, 10 June 2014‎
The girl Nini.C makes a really fine suggestion saying we should leave out the word "native", I'm for that. ... But before we go on, I suggest that we continue this discussion on the articel talk page where it belongs. Is it ok with you, Versace, if I collapse the thread here and close it? Best, Sam Sailor Sing 20:06, 10 June 2014 (UTC)
@The girl Nini.C: The words native and ethnicity cannot be used interchangeably because they are distinct. The word native is "the place or environment in which a person was born" and ethnicity refers to "the characteristic of a people, especially a group (ethnic group) sharing a common and distinctive culture, religion, language, or the like." When you say that "he is from the bayangi tribe", you are actually referring to his ethnicity. @Sam Sailor: Go ahead and do what you need to do. I agree that this discussion should be on the article's talk page. Versace1608 (Talk) 20:18, 10 June 2014 (UTC)

Good Job on the Patoranking article. That kid is the next big thing in the Nigerian Music Industry. Darreg (talk) 22:58, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

I agree bro. I listened to his music and felt in love with it. He has been dropping hits lately. Hopefully Nigerians support him. Versace1608 (Talk) 23:00, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the barnstar!

Hi Versace1608, I've seen your work and it's very good. I'm new to Wikipedia and I'd also like assistance in expansion of some of my articles. Which articles are you working on now? Please consider creating one for the Nigerian artist, Skales. I will help expand if necessary! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Faux Ville (talkcontribs) 02:50, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: Welcome to Wikipedia. I am working on articles for Becca and Toya Delazy's Due Drop. I am also looking forward to expanding the Zahara and Mafikizolo articles. I can help you with expanding the articles you're working on. Collaborating and building a better Wikipedia is the very essence of Wikipedia. Versace1608 (Talk) 04:06, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
As for the Skales article, I will get back to you on that. If Skales has received significant coverage in reliable sources, I should be able to create an article for him. Wikipedia is all about notability. You will come across the word "notable" a lot on here. Versace1608 (Talk) 04:09, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

D'banj

User talk:Versace1608 - I tried to update some more info on d'banj wiki but i noticed it was deleted.Could you please add more info to his wiki because the present one is not good enough for an international artist like him. Most of his major moves has not been updated well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Issyharr (talkcontribs) 09:27, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

@Issyharr: I understand your frustrations. D'banj's article should either be a good or featured article at best. I know you've tried expanding the article, but the contents you added were highly promotional. You can't use promotional words when writing articles on Wikipedia. Wikipedia articles should not be read like advertisements. If you want to help expand the D'banj article, you should try to find reliable sources to backup content you add. I will try to add information to the article when I have time. At the moment, I am working on creating and expanding other articles. Versace1608 (Talk) 14:02, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

i want ypo to write my page do i pay

@89.243.79.169: I am a Wikipedia volunteer and we do not get paid for the work we do. See WP:VOLUNTEER for more info. Since you're not allow to write your page, I suppose I could help you. What's your name? Are you notable? Only notable topics are included on Wikipedia. Not anyone can have a biographical page on Wikipedia. For more info about Wikipedia's notability, see WP:GNG and WP:ANYBIO. Versace1608 (Talk) 23:07, 9 July 2014 (UTC)

D'banj

Hello Versace1608, i think you should add more info to d'banj's page.. for example.. His business venture, love life with Genevieve, more stories on the mohit break up,and all his major endorsement.I think you should also make changes to the picture and put up a recent one. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.136.107.106 (talk) 01:18, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

@123.136.107.106: Like I said earlier, I will expand the article when I have time. I have tons of articles that I need to work on. His business venture and endorsements can ben expanded. His "love life" with Genevieve is trivial to say the least; there's not much there. As for the Mo Hits breakup, that should be expanded in the Mo' Hits Records article. Do not get discourage from editing Wikipedia. The African entertainment scene needs more editors. My advice to you is: Do not write in a promotional tone. You can't use words that glorify D'banj. Wikipedia is not the place to glorify and idolize people. It is rather an encyclopedia. As editors, we are responsible for reporting on him, not glorifying him. I hope you understand now. Last but not least, always add references to everything you add. If you do not add reliable sources to the information you add, you are failing to establish notability. Versace1608 (Talk) 01:39, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
@123.136.107.106: I Forgot to comment on adding pictures to Wikipedia. Wikipedians (or those who edit Wikipedia) can't just upload images of D'banj they see on the internet. Images uploaded onto Wikipedia must be licensed freely under WP:CC BY-SA and WP:FDL. Fair use rationales must be provided for all other images that are not freely licensed. If you come across a picture of D'banj you'd like to see get uploaded onto Wikipedia, you'll need to contact the copyright owner and ask them to license the picture under one of the aforementioned licenses. On the contrary, if you own the copyrights to a picture of D'banj you'd love to see get added, you can upload the image yourself. While uploading the image(s), make sure you license the image under one or both of the licenses mentioned. Versace1608 (Talk) 02:10, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

I Ma On The Wikipedia Identifying and using self-published works, Reading It

Thanks for the Information..So if ma adding a ref i should not take for a blog page Right--Coal Press Nation (talk) 10:28, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

@Coal Press Nation: Yes. While some blogs are reliable, self published blogs are not. Refrained from using them, and try to target newspaper sources. Here are a List of newspapers in Nigeria. If you want to create an article relating to Nigeria, I encourage you to look at the websites of those newspapers and see if they have information for the article you want to create. Versace1608 (Talk) 01:02, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Images

I am still waiting to hear from you concerning those images, I hope you will not break my heart with any negative news. I am really looking forward to it. Darreg (talk) 15:27, 12 July 2014 (UTC) I don't think there is anything trivial about including Genevieve on Dbanj's article. I can produce citations from Punch Newspaper and many other dailies where Dbanj said there was no way his story can be told without including Genevieve in it. He has even stated explicitly in several interviews that they once dated. There are even many pictures of them together on the internet not to mention the "fall in love" video. He is just pained that she later rejected his advances. Sorry for adding this to your talkpage, It should be on the Bangalee's article's talk page. Darreg (talk) 17:16, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

@Darreg: I haven't forgotten about the images. I am yet to send the email to Ameyaw. I just got done downloading the images from flickr, and will be sending the email either today or tomorrow. There will be no bad news concerning the images. Let's just be patient. When I said trivial, I meant that D'banj's relationship with Genevieve will probably warrant a sentence or two. There's not much about their relationship. I personally don't think they dated for long. Versace1608 (Talk) 23:07, 12 July 2014 (UTC)
I don't even think any relationship whether long or short should exceed 2 sentences on a wiki BLP article. Thanks once-again for the images, I will be expecting the go-ahead signal soonest. Darreg (talk) 22:20, 13 July 2014 (UTC)
@Darreg: If a relationship has received significant coverage in reliable sources, there's no reason for it not to exceed two sentences. The only thing that may prevent its expansion is this notion of "undue weight". D'banj's past relationship with Genevieve can't exceed two or more sentences because there's not much the public know about it. I hope I get a chance to upload those images onto Wikipedia. Everything will get uploaded onto Commons and not locally. Versace1608 (Talk) 03:01, 14 July 2014 (UTC)

I don't think WP:ELMINOFFICIAL applies in this case, those links are needed as a citation for many claims in the article. As it stands now the article contains unverified information. I stated my reasons for adding those 2 external links in the first place and I believe that was why @Davidwr: left it when he cleaned up the Toolz article. I am about to undo your edit but I just wanted to drop a note first. All her social media accounts (like Twitter, etc) excluding her official website has been removed because of WP:ELMINOFFICIAL but those 2 links are quite important in establishing the notability of the subject. Darreg (talk) 15:29, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Those links are not needed to establish notability. For your info, YouTube is not a reliable source. Versace1608 (Talk) 17:20, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
They are not being used primarily to establish the notability of the subject. The notability has already been established from the online references cited in the article and the awards won by the subject. That being said a video on Youtube may be used as a reference when there is no other replacement especially when its an interview with a notable journalist on a notable news channel (I am quite sure about this). And It was not Toolz's article that Davidwr cleaned but Toke. If you are going to remove the links then you might have to remove all the people the article claims she has interviewed also. Darreg (talk) 18:48, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
The links to Hip TV and Flytime TV Youtube channels do not need to be included in the article. I understand what you're doing, but the notability of the interviews are not in question. If you really want to cite the interviews of Chiwetel Ejiofor, Eva Alordiah, Femi Kuti, OC Ukeje, and Chidinma, you can use the cite web template to cite each individual interviews. If you were creating an article for Hip TV, it would be appropriate to add their Youtube channel. I hope you understand my point of view. Versace1608 (Talk) 19:25, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
It's alright, you can do whatever you deem fit. Darreg (talk) 20:07, 17 July 2014 (UTC)
I am not going to remove it Darreg. I just hope you understand my point of view. I understand that you may not agree with me. Versace1608 (Talk) 20:23, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

Pyxon comment

How is P square apparent break up not an issue on Wikipedia. Add something to the information if you must but don't act like it didn't happen and stop monopolizing Nigerian entertainment information on Wikipedia.

@Pyxon: You need to remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a gossip or speculative site. The information concerning P-Square is speculative to say the least. When the story broke out, everyone thought that the story was true until their manager debunked the story in this interview with the Premium Times. Nigerian blogs just blew the story out of proportion and made it bigger than it really is. The same stuff happened when they reported that Wizkid left EME. Peter not attending his brother's wedding fueled more speculations. Wikipedia is not the place for unverified claims. You need to be very careful how you add information to Wikipedia. I am not controlling anything on Wikipedia. You have the right to edit a page as you see fit. You just need to make sure you add useful information to the articles you edit. Re: Speedy Deletion of Danagog

Hi Versace1608, thanks for your response to my message on user:STATicVapor's Talk page, I wasn't making a case for Danagog simply because he's signed under Davido's HKN Gang, he has been around before his recent Affiliations with HKN Gang, what I ask ofuser:StaticVapor to is to make the article available for further editing

That being said, I see you have also done a lot of work with articles about other African Artistes. Thanks for your contribution.

@Damilae: Thanks for the kind remarks. I or Static can get an administrator to userfy the article. You'll be able to work on it until it is notable enough to be included among the roughly 4.5 million articles on the English Wikipedia. If you think Danagog is notable enough to have a stand alone article on Wikipedia, you must show that he has received significant coverage in reliable sources. This means that you must find lots of newspaper and magazine sources that have reported on him. Also, you should list the number of awards and nominations he has recieved. I personally don't think Danagog is notable because 1.) he hasn't had a breakout single. 2.) not many people know him. 3.) his YouTube videos do not have substantial amount of views. 4.) he has little to no fanbase. The list goes on and on. It is a possibility that Danagog will be notable in the future but as of right now, he isn't. Once we userfy the article, you can work on it and submit it through WP:AFC when you're ready. Versace1608 (Talk) 19:44, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
@Damilae: Here's an update. The Danagog article that was deleted doesn't need to be userfy. It turns out that someone else has created a draft of the Danagog article. The draft can be seen at: Draft:Danagog. You can work on the article there and submit it through AFC when its ready. If you want to work on Sima Rambo, you can visit Draft:Sina Rambo. Versace1608 (Talk) 23:37, 22 July 2014 (UTC)
@Versace1608: Thanks for the clarification, I'll continue to work on the draft till I have enough material to be able to submit, I might ask you to please review the article from time to time if you don't mind. Thanks a lot.
@Damilae: Sure bro. I won't mind doing that. Here at Wikipedia, we try our best to work as a team. Versace1608 (Talk) 19:18, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Phyno

Can you please me a favour and do an article for Phyno. Nwaforekene (talk) 23:05, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

@Nwaforekene: Thanks for reaching out. I have Phyno on my to-do list. I've already gathered reliable sources independent of Phyno. I am currently working on other articles right now, and won't be able to create the Phyno article until I'm done. I like Phyno's music. All of the singles he's put out are dope. Versace1608 (Talk) 23:53, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for responding to my request. Of course Phyno's music is dope. I was quite surprised he does not have a page on Wikipedia. Although I am new to this creating/editing articles on Wikipedia, I believe I can pick up fast. Any help you need on the Phyno article (maybe a collaboration), I would be open to. We'd be in touch. Nwaforekene (talk) 12:47, 25 July 2014 (UTC)

Good Day... Versace1608 I Need a Help Form You, Can You Help Me Save This Article All About A Rapper Called Emmy Gee He Is A Nigeria But Base In South Africa I Got Too Meet Him One on One And Started Write His Wikipedia Now It On Delete.....Pls I Need Your Help Too Stop The Delete --Coal Press Nation (talk) 17:36, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

@Coal Press Nation: You cannot edit the articles of notable people you have a close relationship with. Wikipedia's conflict of interest policy, for the most part, forbids editors with a conflict of interest. Please read the conflict of interest policy; it is very important. As Wikipedia volunteers, we do not get paid for editing. With that being said, the Emmy Gee article is notable enough to be included on Wikipedia. It meets two requirements of WP:MUSICBIO. I will edit the article and rescue it from deletion. You can only make non controversial edits to the Emmy Gee article as outlined in WP:COIADVICE. Versace1608 (Talk) 19:41, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

I would Love You To Please check whether the references meet the criteria for reliable sources For Lil Kem....Thanks--Coal Press Nation (talk) 18:31, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Lil Kem is not notable. Stop wasting your time trying to create an article for this artist. Remember what I told you? If you want to create articles for Nigerian artists, make sure you visit the website of the newspapers listed in List of Nigerian newspapers article. Don't you get tired of creating articles that will get deleted? Versace1608 (Talk) 19:01, 28 July 2014 (UTC)

Infobox

Why can you put Ethnicity on one info box and not on some others. I want yo believe its not double standard or I will be forced to report

Its not a double standard. Template:Infobox person is more detail and is used mostly for actors and actresses, whereas Template:Infobox musical artist pertains specifically to musicians. Feel free to take this to an administrative noticeboard. I am pretty sure they'll help you clarify things. Versace1608 (Talk) 21:08, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Patoranking

State of origin is the state someone's family come from and is the foundation of his ancestry. It is a valid piece of information in Nigeria.

Wikipedia's definition of origin has nothing to do with Nigeria. You are on Wikipedia and you must adhere to the rules. If you do not like it, you are welcome to leave. Versace1608 (Talk) 22:06, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Dont tell me to leave. Your father doesn't own Wikipedia. Your father owns nothing. Back to the matter. Origin on the infobox (which is defined on the Infobox page by context ) has nothing to do with his state of origin contained in the article His state of origin is ebonyi state, gotten from an external source. Check muna's page, it needs citations. Go make yoursrlf useful

I am not going to exchange words with you. You need to remain civil here. If you insult me or any user here, you will get block from editing. I am done talking about this with you.Versace1608 (Talk) 22:21, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

Its done not don't. Its until i replied your insult thats when you knew what civility is. Readjusting tags unjustly just to get edits Pyxon (talk) 23:58, 29 July 2014 (UTC)

I didn't insult you. If you took my statement as an insult, I'm sorry. I know that you are trying to get your point across, but so am I. I just want you to follow the rules and standards here and not drift away from it. I wasn't doing much of that when I first started editing here. Versace1608 (Talk) 00:24, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

You need to be very careful with the words you use when making your points. It is very insultive to say "...Your Father owns nothing..." in a civil community like Wikipedia. You really need to apologise to Versace. Concerning Patoranking I have seen several interviews where it is stated clearly that he started his musical background originated in Ebutte Metta and the Ghetto in in Lagos inspired his career greatly. I personally have my reservations concerning some aspects of this particular Wikipedia policy but we can't do anything about it and as far as it remains that way, we all must adhere strictly to it, if we want to continue editing on Wikipedia (myself inclusive). The only option that i think can be included is to state that he is of Igbo "Ethnicity". I am guessing that can be included in the article. But as for origin, it must be Lagos (as long as wiki guidelines remain unchanged). Here is an interview he had with Toke Makinwa where he(Patoranking) stated clearly that his music career started at Ebutte Metta and the Ghetto in the city was his greatest musical motivational location. Darreg (talk) 00:54, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

👍 Well said Darreg. Couldn't have said it any better. Thanks bro. Versace1608 (Talk) 00:59, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Hi Versace1608, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled right to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the patroller right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. University of Ilorin

I think you need to correct the edit you made to the article. It was 4icu.org that ranked Unilorin best in Nigeria and NOT Webometrics. Webometrics rankings can be found here. Webometrics is very different from 4icu.org. The former is more respected than the latter. Darreg (talk) 18:18, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Please correct it bro. I stumbled upon this info by chance and decided to add it to the article. Versace1608 (Talk) 18:20, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Quick Question

What does c/e and c/u mean on Wikipedia? I have been seeing it alot of recent and am guessing it means Copy Edit and Clean Up. Darreg (talk) 23:38, 5 August 2014 (UTC) I already tried googling it but the result was not helpful.

You guess right. Some people tried to keep things short. I have Twinkle installed, so commonly used phrases like c/e and c/u are available in the drop down menu. Versace1608 (Talk) 23:46, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: Per WP:ELMINOFFICIAL, Wikipedia does not provide readers with a handy list of all social networking sites. Versace1608 (Talk) 15:31, 10 August 2014 (UTC)

Fundación Aladina article

Hi, thanks for the tags in the article, I`ve been improving the links today. Sadly there are no articles that can make a reference to the Fundación Aladina, thats what made me want to make this page. I think they do a marvelous work, but I couldn`t find anything about them in Wikipedia. How can I do something about it? Its going to have to stay orphan for a while, but I don`t want it to stay like that. Thanks. --FMateos (talk) 11:44, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

@FMateos: Thanks for the note. I removed the bare url tag and successfully added categories to the article. Unfortunately, the orphan tag needs to be kept in the article for now. If you want the orphan tag removed, you could probably create an article for Paco Arango and link the article to his page. Just make sure he meets Wikipedia's general notability requirement first. @Versace1608: I found some articles that mention Fundación Aladina and have been linking them to this one. It hasn't been easy. Anyways, I thing the tag can stay for now and people can help with that. Thanks.--FMateos (talk) 06:45, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
@FMateos: I understand that you created this article in the Spanish Wikipedia. Wiki-linking within the Spanish Wikipedia does not carry over to the English. If you want to remove the orphan tag from this article, you must wikilink it to an existing or newly created article within the English Wikipedia. Versace1608 (Talk) 16:58, 12 August 2014 (UTC)
@Versace1608: I didn't just wiki-link this article to the spanish one, I did it to other articles that mention Fundacion Aladina in some part and added the link to this new article. But thanks for everything. --FMateos (talk) 07:56, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
@FMateos: You're welcome. The article its still an orphan. I checked your contributions page on the English Wikipedia and didn't come across any article you linked. Wikilinking on one Wikipedia platform doesn't carry over to other Wikipedia platforms. Versace1608 (Talk) 19:33, 13 August 2014 (UTC)
Ups, don't think I did it in English, thanks for the detail. Im learning a lot.--FMateos (talk) 07:57, 14 August 2014 (UTC)
You're welcome. Versace1608 (Talk) 16:16, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

@31.193.130.177: What errors did I make? You can't come to Wikipedia and vandalized it. You can contribute to the FUSE ODG article by adding useful information. If you continue to vandalized the article like you did earlier, you can get block from editing. Versace1608 (Talk) 21:25, 14 August 2014 (UTC)

Image Licensing

Hi Versace1608. I was wondering if I can get help from you in getting this picture licensed for use on Cassper Nyovest's Wikipedia page. I've tried before but my attempts have failed as I couldn't get hold of the copyright holder. I tried using the picture as fair use but I violated one of the terms in uploading it. So please help if you can. The image is in the link below. The subject is wearing a camouflage bucket hat with a gold chain and a white vest with the name "CASSPER NYOVEST" printed on it. Thanks! www.zkhiphani.co.za/spotted-ciroc-and-mtv-take-over-party/ Faux Ville (talk) 06:53, 16 August 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: If you want to upload images that you do not own the copyright to, you'll need to contact the copyright owner and request that they license the image under a free license. Is Zkhiphani.com the rightful owners of those images? Only them can answer this question. If they are, you'll need to contact them via their contact page. If Zkhiphani.com grants you the right to upload their image of Cassper Nyovest onto Wikipedia, they can either fill out a WP:CONSENT form and email it (with the photo attached) to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, or put a creative commons license logo/statement below the images. Versace1608 (Talk) 12:23, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
I see that you added Cassper Nyovest as an associated act of AKA. Are they not "beefing"? Have they released songs together? If they have not worked together, Cassper Nyovest can't be an associated act of AKA or vice versa. Per Template:Infobox musical artist, the associated acts field is for:
  • For individuals: groups of which he or she has been a member
  • Other acts with which this act has collaborated on multiple occasions, or on an album, or toured with as a single collaboration act playing together
  • Groups which have spun off from this group
  • A group from which this group has spun off Versace1608 (Talk) 12:23, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
@Versace1608: thanks for that, I have removed AKA as one of Cassper's associated acts. And vice versa...Please try getting hold of them (Zkhiphani) as my attempts have failed. It's really frustrating. Faux Ville (talk) 13:12, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
@Faux Ville: You're welcome. I will send them an email. Hopefully they'll respond. Don't get discourage. If they do not respond, we can contact someone else who owns the copyright to a photo of Cassper Nyovest. As a matter of fact, you can send an image request email to nyovest@gmail.com. @Koraent: I'd like to help you create it, but has Best Life Music been mention in The Burundi Tribune, Arc-en-Ciel or other Burundi newspapers? In order for a topic or subject to have a stand alone article on Wikipedia, notability must be shown. Notability is established through newspapers, magazines, books, etc. Are there books, newspapers, magazines, or scholarly journals that discuss Best Life Music in detail? If there aren't, Beat Life Music does not meet WP:GNG and cannot be considered notable. If Beat Life Music is popular in Burundi, it should have received media coverage in Burundi. If it has, you need to proof that. So far, I have not find a single reliable source on Best Life Music. Versace1608 (Talk) 16:06, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

@41.79.224.134: You haven't provided reliable sources. I don't think this group is notable. If you disagree with me, please provide reliable sources. Best Life Music's website cannot be considered a reliable source because it is a primary source (not independent of them). You claim that they got nominated in one of the categories at the upcoming 2014 Kora Awards, yet there are no references online to support this claim. Versace1608 (Talk) 20:19, 19 August 2014 (UTC)

Linda Ikeji: Notability and Reliability

For now, LIB is notable but not reliable, I believe with a few structural changes it will be able to attain the reliable status on wiki. The notion that she does not have a team of editors is ill-informed because she does have a team of writers and internet-researchers that work for her. My major problem with that site is public opinion about it (and the domain name of-course). ok I have to admit this, I do have a soft spot for her hence my unending optimism. Darreg (talk) 22:07, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Linda Ikeji (the person) is notable. If you want to create the Linda Ikeji article, feel free to do so. I am pretty sure she'll meet the requirements of WP:GNG. Her blog, on the other hand, is not notable. You claim she has an editorial team. Can you back that up with reliable sources? Her site is a gossip site. I watched the interview she did with Toolz on Ndani TV's The Juice. She told Toolz that she has a few people working with her, but didn't mentioned anything about an editorial team consisting of an editor in chief, managing editor, publisher, associate editor, editorial assistant, or an editorial advisory board. The fact that celebrities have debunked some of the stories she publish makes her blog unreliable. Versace1608 (Talk) 22:38, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Hi, Versace1608, I had some concerns about your recent changes to the above article. I posted them in the Talk part of the article--with apologies if that was the wrong location. Thanks for your work and I look forward to learning from this discussion. Anne9853 (talk) 13:24, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

@Anne9853: I left a reply at Talk:Chop My Money. You can remove the external link if you want to. Versace1608 (Talk) 14:32, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
Hi, when you say "you can remove the external link if you want to", do you mean from the References? Just want to be clear... Anne9853 (talk) 14:46, 28 August 2014 (UTC)
@Anne9853: You can keep the external link section and remove the reference in the track listing/cover section. As an alternative, you can keep the reference in the latter section and remove the former section altogether. It's up to you. Versace1608 (Talk) 15:03, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

I see you changed the release date to June 16 for Levels. That's not the actual release date. That's the date written on iTunes but people only had access to the album on the 30th when AKA dropped the album early as a surprise. The album was made for pre-order on that date I think Faux Ville (talk) 12:20, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: Per Template:Infobox album, Only the earliest known date that the album was released should be specified; later release dates (incl. re-issues) can be mentioned in a Release history section. The earliest known date is June 16. Versace1608 (Talk) 13:50, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

LEVELS

Read this article. The date of this was June 17 2014. A day after "Levels" was supposedly released according to you and iTunes. It states that Levels was #1 for its 2nd consecutive day on iTunes purely off its pre-orders. Meaning Levels was made available for pre-order on June 16. Pre-order means you order the album before its released

Click on the LINK and read

@Faux ville: The word pre order has nothing to do with the information on iTunes. No where on iTunes does it put a pre order date. Everything that gets released on iTunes either has a release date or an expected release date. This is what you fail to understand. Joell Ortiz's House Slippers album is available for pre order right now. If you go to the iTunes link here, you'll clearly see the Expected Release date (which is also the official release date). The webpage you provided states that LEVELS will officially be available in physical copy and online on 8 July 2014. If this information is true, then it would imply that Levels was released on 8 July 2014. It would also imply that July 8, 2014 is the earliest known date. Remember what I said earlier. Per Template:Infobox album, Only the earliest known date that the album was released should be specified; later release dates (incl. re-issues) can be mentioned in a Release history section. If you're going by the information on this website, you're wrong when you said that the album was released on June 30, 2014. I don't where you got June 30 from. The fact of the matter is that we (Wikipedia volunteers) always used the earliest known date and according to the information on iTunes, the album was released on June 16. The webpage you provided doesn't corroborate with your claim. It is actually consistent with my statements. The article reads: Africa's Rap Prince and Multiple Award Winning artist, AKA, released his much anticipated album, LEVELS, on iTunes yesterday (July 16) as a pre-order purchase and it immediately shot to #1 on the iTunes SA Hip Hop Chart. The keyword here is released. The aforementioned statement simply says that the album was released on June 16. It being released as a pre order doesn't change the fact that it was released on June 16. Versace1608 (Talk) 20:16, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

Levels

The definition of pre-order is "an order placed for an item which has NOT yet been released". On 16 June, the album Levels was put up for pre-order. That's not its release date. You're a sore loser. I'm gonna prove you wrong with citations. Faux Ville (talk) 03:12, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: You need to remember to always remain civil here. By calling me a sore loser, you are violating WP:PERSONAL. You didn't include any citations to support a June 30 release. If you want to go buy the citation you added to my talk page, July 8 would be an appropriate release date. There are multiple sources online that says the album was release physically in SA on July 8. Also, please provide a citation for the "Run Jozi (Godly)" release. Versace1608 (Talk) 13:50, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

@Versace1608: Sorry if you felt like I was harassing you by calling you a "sore loser". I didn't mean to be an asshole. I've provided a citation for Run Jozi and three citations that prove that Levels was released a week before its specified date (8 July) which is 30 June at midnight. Read the Levels article again if you didn't see those citations. Faux Ville (talk) 14:35, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

Dencia

You stuck a tag on my new article saying some sources are unreliable. But you didn't specify what you have an objection to. If you are going to tag may article, please add your objection on the talk page. Better yet, you can edit out what you don't like. Or at least talk to me. ChristoperBGross (talk) 19:34, 2 September 2014 (UTC)

@ChristoperBGross Could you kindly provide an inline citation for the claim that her father is actually Nigerian? I need that reference because I don't think her dad is Nigerian. I am actually a fan of her song especially "Beri Beri" and I have never read anywhere that she was Nigerian. Her grandparents could be Nigerian but I don't think her dad is Nigerian. I might be wrong though Darreg (talk) 20:29, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
@ChristoperBGross: Thanks for leaving a note on my talk page. You included references to several blogs and gossip sites. The likes of AmeyawDebrah.com, Lindaikeji.blogspot.com, Olori Supergal and Misspetitenigeria.blogspot.com are what we called WP:SELFPUBLISH sources. This means that the author and publisher are the same. These websites do not have an editorial team. Unless these sources are published by reliable third-party publications, you cannot cite them on Wikipedia. Versace1608 (Talk) 20:38, 2 September 2014 (UTC)
OK, I found other sources repeating the same information. In the case of Misspetitenigeria, they've got actual pictures of her at the orphanage, I don't see how that could be considered an unreliable source. That solves your sourcing issues which you post two tags complaining about. Now what is this stuff about paraphrasing. I wrote everything in the article, yes after reading the sources but the only thing I copied from the articles are direct quotes from the subject. Those quotes aren't copyvio, those are quotes. If anybody owns the copyright, it would be Dencia herself, though most of them are Twitter quotes and publicity e-mails intended for public dissemination. So where is the problem. Your tags have defaced the article I spent a lot of time compiling. I've fixed the issues you identified. So I'm going to get rid of your tags. I've demonstrated a good faith effort to fix any issues and will continue to do so in the future. Please address specifics of any other problems to me. Kes Tokyo (rapper) page

good evening. can you please help me or guide me on How to create the Kes Tokyo page. Spexj (talk) 21:21, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

@Spexj: Thanks for leaving a note on my talk page. Unfortunately, Kes Tokyo is not a notable artist. He has not gained significant coverage in reliable sources. A subject is considered notable on Wikipedia if it has recieved reliable secondary coverage in newspapers, magazines, journals and books. You can read more on reliable sources at WP:SOURCE and WP:RELIABLE. Please do not waste your time trying to create an article for him. If you do, it will get deleted again. FYI, not every musician is notable. Versace1608 (Talk) 03:28, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Npk Twice

I heard you say a subject is considered notable on Wikipedia if it has reliable secondary coverage in newspapers, magazines, journals and books. I don't believe you've considered checking this page Npk Twice. this page uses false citation, this Npk Guy is not notable at all,he's lying about his song that was on D'Jango,I even saw a citation that leads to a story about J.Cole. his YouTube links lead to L-Tido but the page still remains on Wikipedia. but the Kes Tokyo page keeps getting deleted but the page include reliable sources that prove that he has really worked with artists from France and the US. How is that fair? Spexj (talk) 06:46, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

@Spexj: This article will be deleted in the next few days once a consensus is reached. Since it was nominated for deletion, it may take up to seven days before it gets deleted. For your information, notability is not inherited. Working with notable artists doesn't make one notable. Please read WP:INHERITORG. Versace1608 (Talk) 13:45, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

VERSACE

Why do you keep deleting my posts? I respect you and you're letting me down because I'm a fan. Am I not good enough to engage in a conversation with you? Let me know. If I have offended you, I am sorry. I really would like to learn a lot from you so don't shut me out. Faux Ville (talk) 17:26, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: I reverted your posts because it was very rude of you to tell me that my work is sloppy. Other than creating the Cassper Nyovest, Levels and Tsholofelo aritcles, you have not done anything substantial here. You have made minor corrections to several articles, but that doesn't give you the right to call other people's contributions sloppy. Is this the thank you I get for the work I do here? I made my first edit in 2011 but became an active user in 2013. You need to learn to ask questions and stop making assumptions. We are all here to make Wikipedia better. If you come across a mistake in an article, you should rectify the mistake instead of having negative impressions. Just so you know, I didn't create the Zahara, Jesse Jagz, M.I, Skales, Davido and Reminisce articles you tweaked. I am not trying to shut you out. I am simply removing negative comments from my talk page. Versace1608 (Talk) 17:47, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Ben Sharpa

what about Ben Sharpa . this article does not provide enough citation at all,but still it remains on Wikipedia. there are many article that don't deserve to be on Wikipedia that provide less citations than the Kes Tokyo (rapper) page. all I'm trying to say is the fact that the page did not deserve to be deleted,it is suppose to be verified. Spexj (talk) 20:12, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

@Spexj: The number of citations doesn't determine notability. A notable article cannot be deleted from Wikipedia simply because it lacks citation. An article is only deleted when notability cannot be established. With that being said, I was able to find this, this and this. These three sources may not be enough to warrant a stand alone article. If you feel that this article should be deleted, you can place this: {{subst:Proposed deletion|concern=reason for proposed deletion}} at the top of the article. Versace1608 (Talk) 21:11, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

Notable Magazine copying content from Wikipedia

Read the summary for Joselyn Dumas. It's obvious that the editors of Illuzion Magazine copied a lot directly from Wikipedia. That is why we must always ensure everything is correct and verifiable on Wikipedia lol. 1, 2. Darreg (talk) 21:12, 6 September 2014 (UTC)

@Darreg: Versace is reliable. Formatting and structuring may not always be perfect but Versace's definitely reliable. Faux Ville (talk) 06:56, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

  • @Darreg: Illuzion Magazine is not notable! I've never heard of it before....and I'm not sure anyone reads it self.... This looks like some PR issh to me. If it thinks it can achieve some notability through Linda Ikeji or Stella Dimokorkus blog, na big mistake! Because both are private and unreliable blogs.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 12:05, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
@Faux Ville: What are you saying???? Read my question again and tell me if you actually think you were making sense. Who said anything about Versace structuring and reliability here sef? If you are going to reply messages on another user's page you need to make sure you do it properly.
@Jamie Tubers: I have never heard of it either...definitely the magazine is not notable or reliable for citations of Wikipedia articles (their website is not even currently running) . The point I was trying to make with this post was that I found it strange for a publication company to copy wikipedia articles directly in their editorials. The "notable" I used for my header was probably what you guys misunderstood. That "notable" was not defined based on Wikipedia standard. My point was simply that "african publication companies copy Wikipedia articles directly". Darreg (talk) 14:25, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
@Darreg: I concur with Tubers. I don't think Illuzion Magazine is notable. There are many publications out there that copy from Wikipedia. Illuzion Magazine is not the first and certainly won't be the last. Versace1608 (Talk) 15:19, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Brother Versace

Hello there Versace. Is it okay if I call you my brother? Hahaha. Well nevermind that. Anyway, since I have your attention now, check the Cassper Nyovest page. Do you like what I did to the "Awards and Nominations" section? You see how much I've learnt from you? What you learnt in 3 years, I've learnt in 3 months. And I'm sure in 9 months time, I'll be an expert just like you. Faux Ville (talk) 06:56, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

  • Hello, no one is an expert here; everyone on Wiki is learning. No shortcut to anything....just chill and let's all continue to learn more together, no one is competing with anyone.--Jamie Tubers (talk) 12:06, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
@Jamie Tubers: This guy is not worth responding to. If he continues to post messages like this on my talk page, I will revert them. I don't know who told him that it can take someone three years to learn to copy and paste templates. He makes it look like copying and pasting templates is one of the difficult things to do on Wikipedia. Versace1608 (Talk) 15:25, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Cassper Nyovest

Yo brodee bro, I see you uploaded a pic for AKA. Can you do the same for Cassper? It doesn't have to be the pic I suggested. But a suitable one you can find on the net, with correct licensing. A high resolution one. A most recent one preferably. I'm assuming you're an AKA fan? Me too. I wish the gun incident didn't have to happen. Can I create the album page for Levels? You can guide me and help expand it. Faux Ville (talk) 07:40, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: The image of AKA I uploaded belongs to Ameyaw Debrah, a Ghanaian celebrity blogger. He owns the copyright to most of the images I upload. I don't think Cassper has been to Ghana. If he visits soon, I am pretty sure Ameyaw will snap him. I am a fan of both AKA and Cassper. I hope these two put their egos aside and collaborate on a track. You can go ahead and create an album for Levels. I will add to it if necessary. I haven't received an email from MTV Base regarding the Cassper Nyovest image. If I do, I will upload the image ASAP. In the meantime, you should try contacting Cassper's camp directly. Versace1608 (Talk) 15:40, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
@Versace1608: Ok, I'll get on it right away. Sorry to be a bother but how do I get rights to revert vandalism. This is becoming a problem for me as I have to manually delete rubbish from vandalisers. Check the Tsholofelo page to see what I'm talking about. It's really annoying. FauxVille Faux Ville (talk) 04:24, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
@Faux Ville: There are two ways you can go about this. To request rollback rights, visit Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Rollback and put in a request. You can enabled WP:TWINKLE on the preferences page. Twinkle has rollback functionality as well. No need to get annoyed bro. As long as Wikipedia exist, vandalism will exist. @Versace1608: Thank you. It turns out my request was approved on Wikimedia Commons. The image is now used on Cassper's page even though its not the one I initially wanted for the article. Faux Ville (talk) 15:08, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

Listen here, don't make me repeat myself

Hahaha I bet you were expecting me to flood your user talk with insults but that was just to scare you a bit, lol. Thanks for letting me know that the year parameter can't be bigger than the others. You enrich me with your knowledge everyday. I'm proud to have a mentor like you on Wikipedia. Once I reach a 1000 edits, I'm going to buy you a gift to thank you for correcting me everytime I went astray. Faux Ville (talk) 14:52, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

@Faux Ville: You're welcome. At times you are very nice. I don't know why you choose to wear both hats. Nonetheless, I like reading comments like these. Versace1608 (Talk) 03:13, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
