RE: Corbin Fisher "Fighting Copyright Infringement"[edit]

Aleksa,

After reviewing the article and doing my own research on the topic, I have found that several of the claimed lawsuits did not happen. Although Corbin Fisher did go through great efforts to fight copyright infringement, the frivolous comments made on fighting copyright infringement were not done so by the company, or approved by the company as an entirety. The segment does not pertain to the article and does not contain fully factual information. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia and I believe we are all here and editing to come closer to the truth; therefore, I do not see any value in posting inaccurate information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.160.247.182 (talk) 18:38, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: cocktail You felt my contribution weighs little. Perhaps, the very probable explanation of the origin of the word cocktail, which has been a mystery for over 150 years, has little constructive bearing. I could show you 15 different 18th century references that predate the 1803 and 1806, Maybe I could go into detail and describe the different cocktails which are all named after events related to horses, such as horses neck, stinger, old fashioned, and the cocktail itself. All early literature prior to 1800 specifically denotes a cocktail as a "half breed" racing horse, so you want me to type that all out, or just leave it at "The word cocktail very likely derives from the half breed racing mare." I am a very busy man, I encourage you to be kinder.174.70.125.76 18:53, 20 November 2013 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.70.125.76 (talk) help me understand how this information is not constructive, thank you64.134.188.239 (talk) 19:48, 20 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Page blanking[edit]

You reverted this edit on Samadha Ashram as an "unexplained page blanking". In general, for a new article that has only be substantively edited by a single author, especially when the article has been tagged for speedy deletion for some reason (copyvio, in this case), if the article author blanks the page, we can interpret that as a good faith request to have the page deleted, and apply the {{db-author}} tag. There is no need to revert such a blanking. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:04, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You're right, I wasn't looking the whole history backlog of the page (and that's quite difficult to do with script such as Huggle). I'll try to be more cautious next time. Thanks for your notice. Regards. Alex discussion 16:11, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am withdrawing the article submission on Walden C. Rhines. Is there a way to simply delete the entry entirely? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Glforte (talkcontribs) 18:56, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want for the page which content you are the only substantial contributor to be deleted, you simply put {{db-author}} on the top of the page and soon some of the administrators will check the article and delete it. Kind regards. Alex discussion 19:04, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have undid the revert done to your edit and requested speedy deletion under the G7 criteria. Since you blanked the page, it's a self-request for deletion, which is what the G7 criteria is for. You're not an administrator, so you can't delete the entry yourself. Lugia2453 (talk) 18:59, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I know, I was going to put the template myself, but I saw you've already done that. Alex discussion 19:04, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there ALEX, AL from Portugal "here",

regarding your reversion in this player/manager's article, i don't doubt your best intentions and judgement, but my edit was 100% correct. Please allow it to remain, this situation (my edits as anon being reverted) seems to occur more often then not even though i never: 1 - vandalize; 2 - add potentially libelous language; engage in POV.

Johnharrison1995[edit]

I am in a wikipedia class at the University of Memphis and I am required to make or write on an article already on wikipedia. I cheer for the university and am very knowledgeable about the topic. The edit you undid was not my final article and I was actually adding more too the sub article to make it more substantial to the over all article. My final edit will be approximately three times as long and more descriptive and not as objective as the edit you undid. For my wiki class I was required to unload a little summary of my article that is why it looked as it did. This article will be substantial when I am done, but thank you for your concerns.

Johnharrison1995 (talk) 19:40, 25 November 2013 (UTC)Johnharrison1995[reply]

(talk page stalker here) With all due respect to whoever 'required' you, you can't write a new article on a subject we already have - but it looks like you are adding to an existing article. Without having any knowledge of the subject myself (we don't really have cheerleaders over here except for the few teams playing American sports), I must remind you that no matter how much you know, you must not use yourself as a source and must make reference to reliable independent sources WP:RS. YouTube is not one of these and tends to get removed, as does Facebook. College and university team sites are also not independent, but you might get away with one that has a factual section covering the topic in more detail than just referring to their own teams. Over to Alex who will explain why he reverted you. I would reckon that you shouldn't make any article edits that are not objective (they WILL be reverted), and that you should be sure to get the RS in. Peridon (talk) 21:52, 25 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with what Peridon said, but I must add that this edit couldn't be alright, and most of the user would revert it, as you can't add to identical headings one over one. Additionally, you shouldn't make controversial edits like this one, without considering dispute resolution and established consensus on the article's talk page. And I must agree that YouTube is definitely not considered a reliable source (which need to be used in writing articles). I hope this clarifies you the situation. Chapmantown[edit]

Dear Aleksa, I wondered where all my work went! Glad there is an active editor. I am a much published local historian [this can be seen by looking up my name on Google]and have written a biography of A.H. Chapman and live (and today write you)in the earlier Chapmantown. My purpose is not at all hostile. I was delighted to happen on the term Chapmantown and my afternoon's work here clarified the history and geography of the term Chapmantown. Most people do confuse the areas I have distinguished here, so your item is a wonderful opportunity to inform people. If your concern is a matter of tone, I would be happy to correct that. If you can help me identify any other part of my essay that troubles you, please alert me and I will be happy to cooperate.Michele shover (talk) 23:01, 25 November 2013 (UTC) Michele Shover Professor of Political Science, retired, California State University, Chico[reply]

What are you doing?, First you refused to "google" the actor and nominated it straight for deletion and didn't even bother FIXING (one of the first rules of wikipedia) the article and instead nominated it for deletion and now you are reverting the "capitalisation" which i tried to fix, you have NO RIGHTS to do that..Its now impossible to MOVE it back to PROPER CAPITALISATION and also, learn the rules regarding nominating articles for deletion.....Its a well referenced, well sourced article of a person that passes NOTABILITY, nearly 9000 views now..It doesn't matter what the outcomes of the AfD is, even if deleted, it will be re-created as it p[asses basic notability requirements...--Stemoc (talk) 10:20, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Either way, it doesn't matter. You should've read AfD rules, where is said that you shouldn't rename the article until the process is over (that's just making more job for admins). The article should stay, that's your opinion, but the final decision is not up to you, than to a community through a consensus. You should refrain from making such unilateral actions forth... Alex discussion 10:25, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
renaming doesn't include capitalisation and this was on Afd not Speedy Deletion and you must refrain from touching the article if you have no intention of fixing it.--Stemoc (talk) 10:36, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
In Wikipedia, a page can be renamed if the existing title is incorrect; this is called moving a page. (So every change is also a rename.) Also here's short guide from WP:AFDEQ: While there is no prohibition against moving an article while an AfD discussion is in progress, editors considering doing so should realize such a move can confuse the discussion greatly, can preempt a closing decision, and can make the discussion difficult to track. So, why just making job more difficult when we can move the page after AfD process is closed? Alex discussion 10:44, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
and again, its does NOT include fixing capitalization and how would changing a w to W make any difference?, Had i moved it to his full name which was "Christopher Wood (actor)", then yes, that may have been a problem but all i did was fix capitalisation and i did not change the current wording.--Stemoc (talk) 11:11, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Aleksa, I think you made a mistake when you undid my edits on the NETCONF page. The figure I removed is wrong (check RFC 6241 if you want) and the text was not correct either. Ctenophore in Europa Report[edit]

I would like to send you an email from John Bair who was interviewed for Making of Europa Report, which you used to undo my edits. In his email, John said that a ctenophore really was the primary source for designing the creature. I was hoping you and others would simply look at the film and see that the image of the animal's body is similar to ctenophores depicted in biology textbooks. But you evidently did not. So I went to the trouble of asking John to confirm my view, and he does. I don't know how to attach our emails to this form, but if you give me an email address I can reply with the attachment. Since you blocked me from further edits as a vandal, I hope that you will edit it to reflect the truth about the creature. 71.174.143.126 (talk) 23:25, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello VS6507,

I noticed you marked an article as a stub using the {{stub}} template. Did you know that there are thousands of stub types that you can use to clarify what type of stub the article is? Properly categorizing stubs is important to the Wikipedia community because it helps various WikiProjects to identify articles that need expansion.

If you have questions about stub sorting, don't hesitate to ask! There is a wealth of stub information on the stub sorting WikiProject, and hundreds of stub sorters. Thanks! --I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 03:50, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

LungiMayte[edit]

It was fairly obvious from the first edit that LungiMayte was trying to create a redirect and didn't know how. From there it spiraled out of control because no one looked at what was going on, they just saw the page blanking. Now he's at a level 3 warning for no good reason. A tag has been placed on Template:Medical Citation needed, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo, or other unlikely search term.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Hi Jmh649. I know that. But what specifically did you have in mind? (Considering I haven't been active for a while.) Any particular article or diff? Thanks. Alex discussion 12:57, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your unexplained move of AC power plugs and sockets - British and related types[edit]

Please do not take such actions without bothering to read the talk page which clearly states: Created following a proposal made by Jeh to redefine the present AC power plugs and sockets article, and its related detailed articles. This detail new article combines the British related elements of the AC power plugs and sockets article with the full BS 1363 and BS 546 articles. The proposal can be found at Move all detail info to group-specific articles? Your unwarranted interference has been reverted. The cooperative work of breaking up the unwieldy AC power plugs and sockets continues, please do not disrupt it again. If you have anything to contribute to the discussion, please do so on the talk page of AC power plugs and sockets. Deucharman (talk) 20:53, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Кarl Marx listed at Redirects for discussion[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Кarl Marx. Since you had some involvement with the Кarl Marx redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. - TheChampionMan1234 11:43, 13 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The mop[edit]

Hello! I saw that you are using the File:Admin mop.PNG on your userpage. That symbol is usually reserved for those editors who are administrators. Since you are not an admin, it would be best if you choose another kind of mop/broom/cleaning utensil so there is no misunderstanding. All the best, w.carter-Talk 21:36, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I used it as a sign of admin-related areas. But I can remove it if you insist. Alex discussion 22:04, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You do as you like, I only noticed it since I myself had my fingers slapped for using it. ;) I now use the File:Besom broom.jpg instead, but there are many more. Cheers, w.carter-Talk 22:09, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
