Orphaned fair use image (Image:This page your viewing 2.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:This page your viewing 2.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. —Remember the dot (t) 03:49, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

There a couple of problems with you putting that image on Website and Web page:

  1. As the Website article explains, a web site is a collection of web pages. The picture you put up was a screenshot of a single web page.
  2. The picture is fair use because it depicts the copyrighted AOL software. You replaced the image of the free Firefox browser on Web page with a picture of copyrighted AOL software. This violates fair use criteria number 1, namely "No free equivalent is available or could be created".

I have reverted your edits. —Remember the dot (t) 20:53, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject ELCB

Futher to the topic you brought up on my talk page Yes, I think it would be quite aggod idea, with the current state of the articles. I recently changed one article. One had the fact that the OmniTown was not a chassis, while the OmniTown article said it was! However, I have no idea how to start a Wikiproject, so if we were to create one, you would have to start it! -- Arriva436 19:41, 24th January 2007 (UTC)

London Underground Rolling Stock pages - standardization

A few months ago you asked me to standardize the pages on the various London Underground rolling stocks. This has been a slow process as I tried to find a way that would fit all types, past, present, and future. However no where on the Wikipedia:WikiProject_London_Transport page does it give standardization information for these pages. This is something that needs to addressed. Ideas? I should mention that recently someone added infoboxes to the current stock. I have spoken to the individual and hope to have something worked out that could be applied to all pages, but I still feel that the standardization of these pages needs to be sorted and this needs to listed on the main page.Jsp3970 15:52, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

I will see what I can do to standardize them. As for "In rolling stock articles, a interior and exterior image is compulsory." this may be a little hard for some of the earlier stock. For the A, or B stock I have never seen an interior shot at all! Jsp3970 16:54, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject ELCB update

See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject ELCB.

Arriva 436 21:15, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

You created a page above in October for a project which has yet to be created. Please at least propose the project, or I may find myself by the end of the week nominating the page for speedy deletion. John Carter 18:47, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Wikipedia:WikiProject Flextech, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Creator of page was notified last week about proposed deletion, advised deletion would not be made if any material were added over the weekend, and page remains unchanged. Creation and continuing existence of a blank page of any kind is not really justifiable. John Carter 14:36, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on [[Talk:Wikipedia:WikiProject Flextech|the article's talk page]] explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. John Carter 14:37, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Edit summaries

I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! mattbr 19:58, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Notable bus articles

A lot of bus articles have been made recently that are not notable to be worth keeping. So I made this page to tell people if a route should have an article or not. Feel free to edit it or tell what you think. Unisouth 18:03, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Articles really should be created on all bus routes, but people should finish one before starting another, otherwise it reduces the overall quality of all of them.

I plan to go through every single one over time, and sign off all those that are complete. See User:web_kai2000/List of all London Buses --sonicKAI 23:39, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

GAC backlog elimination drive

This form message is being sent to you either due to your membership with WikiProject Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. A new drive has been started requesting that all members review at least one article (or more, if you wish!) within the next two weeks at GAC to help in removing the large backlog. This message is being sent to all members, and even members who have been recently reviewing articles. There are almost 130 members in this project and about 180 articles that currently need to be reviewed. If each member helps to review just one or two articles, the majority of the backlog will be cleared. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the GAC talk page. --Nehrams2020 00:14, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Mega Multitruck, by Adam McMaster, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Mega Multitruck is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Mega Multitruck, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Non-free use disputed for Image:Skymovies07.PNG

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Skymovies07.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:54, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

Fair use rationale for Image:Transdev.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Transdev.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Notability of City Cruises

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on City Cruises, by Nuttah68 (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because City Cruises seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Croydon Tramlink Flexity Swift Diagram

Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to use this diagram on my website, http://www.tramcentre.com. It is exactly what I am looking for, and of course it would be acredited to you. Or, you could become a member of the site, and you could help look after the website, and adding that key information you might have that we need. Get in tough via my user page (User:Bluegoblin7) or by email info@tramcentre.com - Jack Gordon 16:25, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me use it. After further exploration, i have noticed that you are involved with several other things that Tram Centre's parent website, transportcentre.co.uk, covers, with its sites: Bus, Tram and Train, with more to follow. Could I use anymore of your diagrams/information with these? Again acredited to you. Also, if you wanted, I could set you up a sub-site within transport centre, and you could have your own London Transport website from in there. Let me know what you think. Thanks again, Jack Gordon 18:49, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks a lot - do you want the site/page? I could link it in with the wiki project, and have it as like an external page. - Jack Gordon 19:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
About what you said with the diagrams - is it just TfL and London Transport Diagrams, or can you do any train, tram and bus etc? Thanks, Jack Gordon 19:12, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
To start off, I would say probably any Turbostar, HST125, 158, 159 and 220-222 on the trains side, with trams any modern British tram (can you do vintage ones?), and with buses can we just hold fire for a while. A you sure you don't mind doing them? My feeble efforts of an Anglia Turb. has today been uploaded to the Class 170 and Anglia Railways pages, and as you can see, they are not too good. All credit will go to you, and i can add any copyright etc if you wish. Thanks again, Jack Gordon 09:42, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Do you still wish to proceed with these, or have you not yet seen the above message? Have I asked too much? If so, please reduce it to whatever you feel you are able to do - I am not rushing you. If you have problems or wish to contact me off wikipedia, use info@tramcentre.com Thanks, Bluegoblin7 11:10, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
