May 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Utcursch. I noticed that you made one or more changes to an article, Prakash Vir Shastri, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. utcursch | talk 13:53, 26 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

June 2018[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Tyagi, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. utcursch | talk 23:03, 1 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • You have done it again today. Please read User:Sitush/Common#Castelists and also the information below. If you persist in adding such unsourced information then you will find yourself restricted from contributing here. Thanks. - Sitush (talk) 16:09, 5 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or a topic ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

You are ignoring what is written clearly on Indian parliament's Lok Sabha page. Do you know 'Shastri' is a title. Mr. Prakash Vir Shastri was born in a Tyagi family. His parents were Tyagi's which means his caste was Tyagi. If you have a problem with casteism, take it out elsewhere. You should not prevent concealing of facts.

Tyagi[edit]

Look, just stop adding this stuff to Tyagi. You have been told before that the list is of people bearing the surname, which this guy does not seem to do. Furthermore, your source is a mirror of Wikipedia and thus is not acceptable. Add it again and I will ask for you to be topic banned or blocked per the notices you have already received. - Sitush (talk) 17:08, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue to do this, you will end up getting blocked. Tyagi lists people with the surname Tyagi, not people with different names whose caste is Tyagi. utcursch | talk 14:33, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Who said this list for only those bearing surname Tyagi. I have cousins who are Tyagi but they do not use Tyagi as their last name. My mother's maiden name is Bhardwaj, she did not use Tyagi. Does this mean they are not Tyagi's? You are a dumbwit. Who made you an administrator?

Tyagiaman well for starters, the article literally says it in bold letters at the bottom: This page lists people with the surname Tyagi.. Second, you need to review WP:CIVIL and WP:EDITWAR. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 15:42, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Surname is part of caste. This article should be for caste and not surname. Can you not make changes if you do not know. Thanks! Please revert my changes or discuss with me.

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Tyagi shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Blocked[edit]

I have blocked you for 24 hours for edit warring. I expect you to discuss future changes to Tyagi here first. If you resume edit warring when your block expires, you will be blocked again for a longer period. Nick (talk) 16:08, 15 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Again, you have added stuff to the Tyagi article without discussing it first. Pinging Nick because this has been going on for weeks, if not months now. - Sitush (talk) 18:36, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I received an e-mail yesterday from Tyagiaman asking what he had done wrong. I asked him to discuss the issue on his (this) talk page, but so far I've not seen any discussion here. I note more additions of un-sourced material and an edit request on the Talk:Tyagi talk page but no discussion about the issues surrounding the block. I'd suggest preventing Tyagiaman from editing Tyagi might be a way forward, short of anything more severe. Nick (talk) 19:13, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
