Category:Wikipedians who use Custom Signatures, which you created, has been nominated for deletion, merging, or renaming. Thank you for your enquiry. By referring to the numbers of opinions expressed for various outcomes, you seem to be under the impression that administrators closing discussions do so (or should do so) by strength of numbers. In fact, the question is strength of argument. (Incidentally, no-one's primary position was rename, as your message suggests – "rename" was only expressed as an alternative to deletion.) My view when closing the discussion was, and remains, that the arguments in favour of deletion were far stronger than the sole argument in favour of keeping, which was that it would help people find others willing to help with custom signatures (coupled with a dose of WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS). After all, we are here to write an encyclopaedia, not to develop flash signatures. I hope this clarifies matters for you. Regards, BencherliteTalk 16:36, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 21:26, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tor Access[edit]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am currently living in a country that forces me to use Tor to access Wikipedia.
I have asked via email to allow me to edit while using Tor, explaining the reason, which was granted.
But why am i still not able to edit (even my own user- and sub-pages) while i have been granted “Global IP block exemptions” ?
Is it because my account also needs “Bypass IP blocks, auto-blocks and range blocks (ipblock-exempt)”?
(Please add that if that's the case, thanks)

Decline reason:

Global IPBE will only work against local blocks. You would need local IPBE in order to bypass local blocks.

The requirements, and instructions for requesting local IPBE can be found at WP:IPECPROXY. SQLQuery me! 02:06, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
