Hello Tompw. I was looking your graph of passenger numbers over time. Do you still have the spreadsheet with the numbers in so that it can be regenerated in a vector format. The spreadsheet is also the "source code" of the graph and should allow easy re-creation when more years of data become available. I put the dataset on the image page. Journeys for 2007/07 (labelled as 2007) were the highest since 1946... there was a big jump of 7.6%, taking things well above the 1950s bump. I also have data for passenger-km if you think that would be useful graph to have. (The data for that only goes back to 1946... 2006/7 saw 46.5bn, the hoghest since 1946's record of 47.0). Maths portals[edit]

I responded on my talk page. I also created Portal:Number theory and Portal:Discrete mathematics. I transferred some selected articles from topology to discrete mathematics. No problem with overlaps, it also depends on the number of selectable articles in topology. You can work on number theory too. I'm not very experienced in templates, I created Portal:Number theory/Topics based on Portal:Set theory/Topics, and I'd like to link List of number theory topics. I'm sure you've thought about the image issue, but tell me: we can presumably make an assumption or stipulation about the print size of images, but do we have a clue about the average number of images per article? Re:Congressional districts of Arkansas[edit]

Arkansas' is not grammatically correct. 1) An apostrophe has no pronunciation, so "Arkansas' districts" is pronounced the same as "Arkansaw districts." (Arkansaw to reflect the odd pronunciation of the name). That is wrong. To be pronounced "Arkansaw's districts" there must be an additional s. There is no difference what letter the noun ends with. Follow the very simple rule of possessives: when making any singular noun possessive, add an apostrophe-s; when making a plural noun that already end in s possessive, simply add an apostrophe. For irregular plurals that do not end in s, add an apostrophe-s. These are singular nouns and should always add an apostrophe-s. It is better to write Mr. Jones's (Joneses) rather than Mr. Jones' (Jones); the latter is still accepted because it phonetically makes sense as the s in the word is already pronounced, unlike Arkansas, but the the former is better because it is more clear. 2) The only times that you may leave off the s are for Biblical or Classical names such as Jesus' and Moses'. The only exceptions are historical, which I disagree with but is generally accepted. 3) To be correctly consistent with with other articles. We have Texas's 1st congressional district and Kansas's congressional districts, which both need the additional s because the final s is pronounced differently, and because of the rule of possessives. 5) Per WP:MOS, please do not change widely accepted, pre-set styles without a reason. 6) Per WP:MOS, including the extra s is correct. In short, they are correct with the additional s, although they are often incorrectly accepted without it, and there is no need to move an established name. Error in User:Tompw/bookshelf?[edit]

Hi, I think I found a small error on your bookshelf page. When volumes is n*200+x for 100<x<199, then mistakenly one stack200 is shown too much. This results from the statement:

( {{/volumes}}/200 round 0 )

295 for example results in 1, while 301 results in 2. In the latter case the template is not supposed to give 2, because two stack200's are too much. The problem is, that round will not always round down, but up (depending on if the number is >0.5 or <0.5). I suggest the following fix: Replace the string above by:

( ({{/volumes}}-100)/200 round 0 )

Translated graphs[edit]

Hello there Tompw,

The French-language Wikipedia articles concerning election results in Canada lack something comparable to the good graphs you have done in English. I propose to help you translate them all into French. I see three ways to proceed: 1) we could translate the captions, giving us a pair of images in each case, 2) we could "bilingualize" the captions or 3) we could take the captions out. I would advise the third option, since the captions can easily be placed outside the image (and in fact they are in every single case at the moment) and this option would require the least amount of effort on your part. Also, if you do not have the time right now, I could take your Excel sheets and do it myself. I do not have Ms Excel, but most likely OpenOffice Calc will allow me to do something close if not identical.

Thanks for noticing. The only weak point right now is the referencing in the lead. There are a lot of statements about history that aren't quite fully covered by the sparse in-line citations included. On a related issue regarding Category:British railway stations opened in 1829 as an example, it might be better to use the format Category:Railway stations in the United Kingdom opened in 1829 for consistency with Category:Railway stations in the United Kingdom. British railway stations is a bit awkward and doesn't really fit nicely within the existing category structure. In the fomat Category:Railway stations in the United Kingdom opened in 1829, each category could go in a new Category:Railway stations in the United Kingdom by year of establishment (for consistency with Category:Railway stations by year of establishment) and Category:Railway stations opened in 1829.

List of Nunavut general elections[edit]

I think the best way of expanding the lead would be to offer some interesting facts on those who have been elected. Things like the total number of people elected, legislators who have won multiple terms, and the two men who have won in all three elections would all be nice additions. They would provide a nice summary of what is actually in the list, not to mention that you could probably get another paragraph out of them. Hi, i really appreciate your bookshelf template, but i think there is something wrong on meta.wikimedia/Wikipedia_as_books. The text above the person says 5718 volumes in 29 stacks. Missing stack in User:Tompw/bookshelf, Wikipedia:Size in volumes etc.[edit]

I believe the number of stacks in the various "how big is Wiki in printed books" graphics is missing a stack. It's currently 1634 volumes, which should be eight full stacks, plus a partial ninth stack. It's displaying seven full stacks plus a partial eighth. I believe the problem is with the calculation in User:Tompw/bookshelf/stacks. It's currently:

It should probably be something like

{{ #expr:  ceil({{User:Tompw/bookshelf/volumes}}/200)}}

(I think I did the conversion of braces correctly, but if the above has ended up with a missing or extra brace, I apologize in advance.)

The round function is not what you'd really want. Round would convert 300-499 books (1.500 to 2.495 stacks) to 2, and 500-699 books (2.500 to 3.495 stacks) to 3. Ceil will get the next highest integer. Thus 1.005 through 2.000 (201-400 books) would get 2, but 2.005 through 3.000 (401-600 books) would get 3.

I was wondering what to do with this article. Technically a list can not be a Good article. You may want to move it back to Delaware counties.
