Embedded links[edit]

At first glance, the changes you are making to road signs in Germany look good but straight away I noticed you are using embedded links like Straßenverkehrs-Ordnung, which are not allowed. It will be easiest if I fix it for you and that will demonstrate how to do any new ones. Give me today to do that before you resume editing. I have fixed a few embedded links at the beginning of the article, I don't have time to do any more. I expect you can see what is needed, I see you already know how to use {{cite}}. A few other things I noticed:

Using {{Lang}} rather than just italic markup means that screen-readers for blind users know how to pronounce the phrase in German rather than trying phonetic 'English'.
The template {{quote}} is better than <blockquote> because it reminds you of the items you should add and formats the speaker nicely.
- In any case, you should only use this kind of 'feature quote' for the more important statements and it must be given exactly as in the source (so, in your case, it would have to be in German and thus not really useful).
I used {{cite web}}, which is a bit lazy. You might prefer to use {{cite book}}.

Thanks for the help, I'm honestly quite new to this and am not sure how it all works. I thought that using the embedded text would be easier and I saw it done on a few German pages but I assume that it's not allowed here, I see, so you have to use citations instead.

I use the visual editor (sorry, not quite there yet with all of the source editing) so I'm not 100% sure how to add phonetic infos like that
Uhhhhh to be honest I have no idea what that means... sorry :)
- I see, I saw it done on Speed limits in Germany (English translation) so I assumed I could do it here
Yeah I just use the automatic web citing

Thanks for the help again. One question: I saw on the Talk Page that there were some concerns about the page becoming too much just images and less an article. I have no problem with adding a precise English translation of the exact definition (what the traffic signs mean exactly) but I was afraid that that would be too complex for this article. Would I be 'allowed' to do that (add exact traffic sign definitions and historical info) or should I rather not? -- Thekerbal (talk) 11:14, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, one more thing: In the gallery captions I keep on having to use the template 'line break' to go down one line which takes a bit of time. Is there any other way to move down one line in an image caption when using the visual editor? Thanks. Thekerbal (talk) 11:34, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
