Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. GotR Talk 22:35, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

YOu must get consensus on the talk page to make that change. Also please do not edit war. BritishWatcher (talk) 23:01, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The issues around the name Republic of China/Taiwan are contentious and it is something that has been debated on wikipedia for years. I understand you are trying to make a change you think will avoid confusion, but you really need consensus for that change. Please make a post on Talk:Republic_of_China about removing the redirect and let them know your proposal. Consensus on the talk page is the only way that redirect should be removed. Thanks BritishWatcher (talk) 23:15, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you make a post on the talk page Talk:Republic_of_China and nobody objects to your proposal then it could be implemented. But it is not that long ago the actual Taiwan article was at Republic of China, so i suspect some will object to the redirect being removed. BritishWatcher (talk) 23:22, 18 July 2012 (UTC) Thanks for raising it on the talk page, just try and get consensus on there to see if there can be agreement or not. Dont try removing the redirect again as you need to avoid violating WP:3RR. BritishWatcher (talk) 23:28, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:BritishWatcher/1[edit]

I removed your addition to User:BritishWatcher/1 as he probably won't see it there. You should put it in User talk:BritishWatcher. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 23:13, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Jim yes, almost missed it lol. BritishWatcher (talk) 23:20, 18 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
