Hi there. Whatever the merits of one spelling or another, you are currently edit warring, and you can be blocked for edit warring. Don't do that - it's not worth being blocked over a couple of hyphens. Discuss the disputed material on the talk page instead, so that you and others can come to a consensus about what is correct. If that doesn't happen soon, I will end up asking for the page to be protected, and then nobody will be able to edit war, since nobody will be able to edit. It's not just about a couple of hyphens. It's much more about self-aggrandising users like David Schwimmer here, who stubbornly protect their edits come-what-may in the face of overwhelming evidence to the a contrary view, delusional in the idea that their experienced editor status must always trump that of some drive-by editor. This is an encyclopaedia, user identity is nothing, content is everything.

Under another username, I am a 'normal' editor' with thousands of edits and a handful of commendations. Occasionally, I go trolling for a couple of weeks to see how the other half live. Increasingly, I find myself much more upset with the 'article-owner' arrogance of some users than I ever get with out and out vandals.

Still, I suppose it takes all sorts. I'll move on. Thank you for your calm comments. I am now going to randomise my password and make no further edits under The Oriffice. The Oriffice (talk) 09:42, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
