Why was this deleted? Did you see the production info and links, plus have you looked at Dennou Coil? --91.149.8.107 (talk) 13:00, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

The production information could be integrated into the main article but it is unsourced, however the episode still fells WP:EPISODE and WP:NOTE. --Farix (Talk) 13:02, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
I moved it to the episode list instead, since the information was relevant to that episode. See also episode 26.--91.149.8.107 (talk) 15:34, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
That's a very badly done merged. The production and critical reception really should go into RahXephon and not the episode list. I've removed the repetitive information along with the original research. --Farix (Talk) 15:43, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Why did you remove the title references and the directors? Is there room for extra columns for that? Also how can we recognize the episodes without screenshots?--91.149.8.107 (talk) 15:45, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
The directors are already listed on the table. The title references are clearly original research. And the screen shots violate WP:FUC. --Farix (Talk) 15:47, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
The directors aren't listed. Those are the writers. Episode 15 is unusual in that the same person wrote and directed it. But I guess that's not very important information since you can find it in credits databases, etc.
I think all those references are sourced in the official DVD pamphlets, and also in the guide books. And if we happen to have one that is not listed there, why would that title reference be original research any more than the disambiguation pages?
Re:images I'll look into that. --91.149.8.107 (talk) 15:54, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
I also question its rel events since it seems pretty trivial to me. Directors can probably be added into their own field on the table, but not in the summery section. I also took a good look at the main article, RahXephon, and found most of the information you tried to merge into the episode list already there, so it's been removed from the episode list. --Farix (Talk) 16:04, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Yuya Asahina, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. An editor has asked for a deletion review of Green_Mustard_Productions. Since you closed the deletion discussion for this article, speedy-deleted it, or were otherwise interested in the article, you might want to participate in the deletion review. Caboosey (talk) 04:05, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Manga Peer Review

Just to let you know that I've replied to the suggestions you made when you peer reviewed the manga article. Timothy Perper (talk) 20:10, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

For changing the episode format for Case Closed. I've been trying to put in summaries in for episodes I've seen, and I'm not good at the episode charts thing. CH (talk) 20:26, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Centralized TV Episode Discussion

Over the past months, TV episodes have been reverted by (to name a couple) TTN, Eusebeus and others. No centralized discussion has taken place, so I'm asking everyone who has been involved in this issue to voice their opinions here in this centralized spot, be they pro or anti. Discussion is here [1]. --Maniwar (talk) 23:45, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

Objective Episode Standard

I saw your support for my statement. I would like to propose this as an objective standard:

Notable episodes are those that meet any of the following criteria:
  1. has been nominated for individual awards by a notable organization;
  2. have had elements of the episode nominated for such an award (i.e. "best supporting actor" for a guest-starring role);
  3. reached an unusual peak of ratings (such as the finale of M*A*S*H);
  4. achieved other notoriety due to an unusual impact on the real world(the "seizure-causing" episode of Pokemon; the Trapped in the Closet episode of South Park, etc.)

Can you think of any specific additional criteria?Kww (talk) 17:03, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

  1. I thing that mere nomination is not enough to establish notability. The episode actually has to win the award. I also think that it is not enough to mention the award, but add it along with other out-of-universe details, such as the critics comments about the episode in relation to the nomination. The award may help make the case that the article is notable for an individual article, but that doesn't mean that there is always enough information for the article to sustain an article beyond a plot summary.
  2. Like 1, this should be limited to have actually won the award. However, this doesn't actually demonstrate the notability of the episode directly, just the actor. It really depends on just how much the critics comment on the episode. Though a mention of the award would be appropriate in the episode article if one did exist.
  3. And just how are you going to measure the "unusual peak" in ratings? It's too vague to be useful.
  4. The last is, of course, going to have the third-party sources for the episode to pass WP:NOTE directly.
All in all, I think episode articles should be less about the plot of the episode and more about with the real-world context, affects, and significance of the episode. --Farix (Talk) 18:04, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Japanese Animation Club of Orlando

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Japanese Animation Club of Orlando, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Japanese Animation Club of Orlando. 132.170.41.61 (talk) 13:28, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Terran Federation

Hi, I think there may have been a little mix up, this should explain it all. My bad, sorry, I've never used this process before, didn't realise the links would mess up :) Ryan4314 (talk) 14:23, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Injunction

So the injunction is only for characters but not for other things, like Mandalorian War. I think there should be some consistence (put all characters in a list or leave all of them out, just compare Carth Onasi and Bastila Shan), but of course it's their choice. — Raffaello9 | Talk | 18:33, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

According to the temporary injunction, articles on television characters or episodes should not be deleted, but I noticed that many of the articles you de-prodded are Star Wars characters from Expanded Universe novels, video games, comic books, etc. Granted, prods may be removed for any reason, but I just thought I should point that out for future reference. Thanks. Nufy8 (talk) 19:32, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm not so sure. The wording specifically refers to television-related articles only, and I don't think the ArbCom meant to be ambiguous in its injunction. Nufy8 (talk) 20:06, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

AniDB wiki

The AniDB wiki has direct links to the title pages on its main site that include links to copyrighted material, hence my removing it. Also, wiki's are not reliable sources, so it shoudn't be used as a source either way. :P Collectonian (talk) 21:21, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Re: Line spacing

I found it equally pointless how you were leaving the line spaces in, so I was merely dropping them to be more compact. I only did some of the ones on my watchlist, so it's not such a big deal.-- 23:42, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

Manga images discussion

Unbeknownst to you, your removal of the "empty column" was premature. Please offer your input in a current debate on the use of manga covers in articles at Talk:List of Hunter × Hunter chapters#Use of Images. Thank you! Shimawa zen (talk) 03:29, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

The guideline supports this title? If so, are there pages in {{Fullmetal Alchemist}} that need renaming? Please reply below, Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 04:59, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

If the character section grows long, please reconsider the amount of detail or number of characters included. Beyond that, a separate page, named List of (series) characters, may be appropriate. This particular naming convention has been adopted by the majority of editor form WP:ANIME, though at the time, I favored a somewhat different naming convention for character list articles. --Farix (Talk) 13:47, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
I asked about FMA because I personally feel the page titles border on redundant. Well, what names would you suggest? It'd be nice to see some examples, you know, for reference. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 00:06, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

SatyrBot & Anime

Hi, TheFarix! I've run the bot through that list of categories looking for articles that don't have the project banner. The list I came up with is Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/No banner. I did a quick spot check to make sure things were good, but it was *very* quick, so let me know if the bot messed up the report in any way. Wikiproject:Comics tag

Hi, I've noticed you've removed a number of Manga releated articles from this project. I've added the ones I've seen back and I'm curious about why you feel the need to removed them. You said in your edit summaries that the project links were redundant. Its not possible for articles to be a part of two similiar and related Wiki Projects? Stephen Day (talk) 22:54, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

I have to say I disagree. There is nothing wrong with having articles that belong to multiple Wiki:Projects. In fact the whole point of having projects is to increase the number of editors interested in maintaining articles. In this respect there is no such thing as overkill. The more projects a article can be put in, the better the article is for it. Stephen Day (talk) 23:12, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
I wasn't aware of this. My apologies then. Stephen Day (talk) 23:18, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey...things seemed to be okay on this page, but now that its no longer protected Edito*Magico seems to be ready to start another edit war over this list and List of Goodnight Sweetheart episodes. Now he is arguing that all of the summaries should have Synopsis: added to the front of them. Both I and UpDown have again told him that it isn't how an episode list is normally formatted, and that if he felt it should be added he should discussed it at the episode template. However, he is doing the same thing as before, "discussing, while continuing to put them back when we remove them. As someone who assisted before, would you be willing to come offer another opinion at Talk:List of Keeping Up Appearances episodes#Synopsis. Collectonian (talk) 16:17, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:AMCOTW voter

A tag has been placed on Template:AMCOTW voter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

"Chat"

I have to say I've never seen someone go around cherry-picking miniscule, manageable, natural amounts of chat out of discussions on talk pages. Why would you do something so inconsequential and confrontational? Articles are one thing, but in talk people are speaking for themselves and editing their words is inherently offensive. How would you like someone to go around altering your speech? If you think the chat is getting out of hand, you tell them stop, you don't edit their text. -- AvatarMN (talk) 18:16, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Removing chat topics from talk pages is common practice on Wikipedia, especially on pages where there is a history of such chat topics, such as the Bleach articles. Talk pages exist for the purpose of discussing how to improve articles. If there is a topic that isn't about article improvements, it can be freely removed by any editor. I'll remove such topics when I notice them, but since I can't notice everything, so inconsistency is inherent. If you have a problem with WP:NOT#CHAT the I advice that you take it up at WT:NOT or the village pump. --Farix (Talk) 20:54, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
But you didn't remove the topic, did you? Just a part of it, stifling a part of my speech. WP:NOT doesn't say a single word about editing another user's speech. It can be used as argument that my contribution didn't belong, but it does not actually direct you to change or remove anything. Preserving the record of talk by archiving is common practice on Wikipedia. Messing around with someone's signed speech addressed to someone else violates my sense of right and wrong, pissing me off, but I'm afraid I don't have the savvy to wikilawyer and know which guideline supports me. Anyway, do you find that just deleting speech is the most useful thing you can do towards your goal? Why not reply so the user and others who know that chat happened and what is your issue with it? That would get the word out a lot better than this passive-aggressive dickery. "The villiage pump". You condescending snot. -- AvatarMN (talk) 23:34, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
I will continue to enforce WP:NOT#CHAT as has been accepted practice. Wikipedia is not a free speech zone nor does any policy endorse such a position. Article talk pages are for discussing improvements to the article. They are not a platforms to say whatever you like about the article's topic. Now if you continue to harass me, you will be reported to an administrator. This matter is closed. --Farix (Talk) 23:40, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
That's ridiculous, I'm not afraid of any admin thinking you've got a case for harassment against me! I just think you'd have better results by talking instead of censoring when you think there's a case for NOT#CHAT vio. I know that if you'd done that, I wouldn't have been at all offended and would be glad to be more conscientious about chatting. Sorry I got heated, but I felt provoked by your comments. Now this matter is closed. With mutuality, not imperiousness. -- AvatarMN (talk) 08:32, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
I've learned that the village pump is actually a meta-discussion area on Wikipedia. I thought you were being literal, therefor condescending to call me a bumpkin or something. Whoops. -- AvatarMN (talk) 02:53, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Talkheader removal

Hi, thanks for assessing the MyAnimeList article. I'm still new to the WP standards so a quick question for future reference, why was the talkheader not needed for that discussion page? Kei-clone (talk) 21:14, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Because there weren't any problems on the talk page to warrant the notice. The banner should only be applied when there are persistent problems with how editors are posting on the talk page. --Farix (Talk) 21:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)

Did you at least read the talk page on the Gainax Article before deleting it? I don't think you did Like I said there should be a section that talks about "Gainax Endings" and "Gainax Bounce" and even it's reputation in America. It should be re-written of course, but what we had could have been a starting point. The scources were bad, but that's becuase it was ALL unsouced so I found some scources really fast. Interview about WikiProject Anime and Manga

Hello there,

I am an undergraduate CS student from Georgia Tech and I am conducting an academic study on the Anime Manga WikiProject community (more information in my User Page, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:GT_YiWu).

I have also made a posting in the discussion page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Anime_and_manga#Academic_Research_on_WikiProjects

I recently had an online voice interview with Nihonjoe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Nihonjoe), a long time member of WikiProject Japan and WikiProject Anime and Manga.

When I asked him if he could refer me to any other people whom he though would be good to talk to and would have interesting things to say, your name came up.

I would very much like to interview you about your experiences on the Wikipedia community and in WP Anime and Manga. If you are interested please let me know at gtg120q@mail.gatech.edu

Thanks! -GT_YiWu

Yo

As one of the founding members of AD, I can tell you the name was indeed coined as a joke initially-- essentially, a lot of folks tended to pass through the Twin Cities on their way to other conventions, so someone suggested a con here would be a 'detour'. Jtrainor (talk) 00:55, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

However, just because you say so does not make it verifiable. And since verifiability is a core principle of Wikipedia, it shouldn't be in the article without a published reliable source. --Farix (Talk) 01:04, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Daisho Con

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I'm placing a back up of Daisho con's wikipedia article at User:Capitocapito/Daisho_Con. I saw you were involved in the AFD for that article, and I wanted to let you know that I appreciate your input. In the (probable) case that that page is removed, I'd love to hear feedback on how our editing process is going. I will probably return later after more sources are gathered, just to get your opinion.

I sincerely believe that, with your support, Daisho Con will eventually reach verifiability standards. I hope that I am able to reach that point to recreate the article.

Thanks! capitocapito - Talk 23:21, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

EDIT: Keep in mind that the page was created to improve, not to save. However, I have removed the archival copy per WP:USERPAGE. capitocapito - Talk 01:01, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Question about notability

Does animecons.com count as a reliable source after the con has completed? capitocapito - Talk 01:01, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

Eirtakon

First off due to a hosting issue the Eirtakon site can not currently be updated. Second the other day it was pointed out to me that the date listied on Animecons.com had been changed from the correct day to the 24-26th, when i notcied this i informed them of the mistake and updated the wiki. However you decided i was wrong (im the con co-director btw) before animecons was updated (i didnt change the referance because the wikipage already referanced animecons). As for the forum post it aswell as an update to the Eirtakon blog was a reaction to the mistake on animecons as we had told people to look their and at the blog due to the problems with the site. As for whether a forum post is a crediable referance when it is a post by the organiser of the event on the events offical forum its alot more crediable than an external site, especially given that it listed a monday to wedensday as a weekend. Edit warring

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Template:Infobox animanga character. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 20:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

RE: Anime USA Edit

In your edit summary here you stated "Source is a Wastiongton [sic] Post article already referenced when figure is cited in text." I'm aware article source states 1994, I even spoke to it on the talk page- however the issues was that I'm constantly seeing edits which change the inception date. Most recently today [2] you can see an editor claiming the 1994 date was a printed mistake. I have not removed any sources or information - I tagged the date Wikipedia:Disputed_statement since that's what it is. Disputed. Currently Animecons lists the first date in 1999 [3] Please provide compelling reasoning as to why this tag should not be placed back in the article until resolution. Cheers, AtaruMoroboshi (talk) 17:48, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 18:38, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Your recent edit

This edit causes the appearance of the reference to be messed up in the reference section. To be honest, I don't think the presence of "sic" is that important anyway - the title is what it is, whether spelled incorrectly or not. However, if you feel adding "sic" is absolutely critical to the quality of the article, please try to find a different way to do it. Astronaut (talk) 13:22, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Actually, it is important to point out such errors within quites and titles to demonstrate that the error isn't on the part of the Wikipedia. Otherwise, a knowable person will assume that the error is on the part of Wikipedia and attempt to correct it. --Farix (Talk) 17:33, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

As an afterthought yeah, lolitron probably isn't a notable enough site. It mainly links to the ANN article (which is already used on the article as a reference and thus not also needed as an external link) with the owner's opinion about it and then people post comments (I did too, lol). But anyway, I kind of suck at understanding a lot of Wikipedia policies, in regards to EL and notability. In general, offering an opinion isn't enough right? What would have to happen for that page to be notable? In general the article lacks external links so I guess I was just trying to add something. I appreciate your having added an edit summary with a link to the policy, but unfortunately this doesn't help me understand which part of the policy it failed in particular so that I know in the future what could be added. Hey, looks like you are going through and moving mislabeled and miscategorized manhwa out of the manga categories and into manhwa. Thanks so much - I was just preparing to ask for your help with coordinating that! BTW, Asian comics (except Japanese) have formally been added to the scope of the WP:COMICS World Comics working group, and we're just (just!) kicking things off, focusing mainly on manhwa for the time being. If you have input, concerns, or interest in it, please feel free to head over to group's page. Any suggestions you have for how to integrate/coordinate with WP:MANGA when the need arises (especially here at the beginning) would be very appreciated, as you seem "not unfriendly" to the project. Thanks again! --hamu♥hamu (talk) 07:23, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

Rollback

I have 5 granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. I noticed you revert quite a bit of vandalism, so I thought you might like this. :) Practice at WP:New admin school/Rollback and feel free to ask if you require assistance. Best, PeterSymonds (talk) 07:33, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Blue Heaven

I noticed your edit to my sandbox. Have you read the series? :D – 「JUMPGURU」@Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia 17:07, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Youmacon

The information that was posted there was given directly from convention staff, and they're asking not to have information removed from their page as you did earlier today. Additionally, Emily DeJesus has never attended Youmacon, I don't know why you keep adding her. Only Bob has attended the convention so far. —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Schmoo (talkcontribs)

Can I get an explaination as to why the -Events Unique to Youmacon- was removed from their page? -The Schmoo —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Schmoo (talkcontribs) 20:52, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
