Your email[edit]

Hi, I received your email. It is interesting the IP is not even from your country. Would you like to seek some technical help? I would suggest you consult this matter on WP:AN. --BorgQueen 19:03, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing[edit]

I read your comment on the Mahathir talk page. I think that you need to reference some of your statements which may be controversial and perhaps some statements that are not agreed upon can be discussed in the talk page. The Star's website has some articles on Mahathir.Wai Hong 16:55, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thought you got to pay to access The Star's website? Anyway, those articles that I am referencing to are very long ago... in tzhe 1990s, before Wikipedia even started. Finding them is going to be very, very difficult, as I do not even know the exact date. --Terrancommander 17:54, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User talk: page[edit]

Thanks for letting me know about it; it's old news at this point, but thanks for looking out. Jayjg (talk) 00:06, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, just that those articles that guy has written are really racist, and I don't like racists. --Terrancommander 13:50, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Operation Summer Rains[edit]

Hi TerranCommander! Just wanted to let you know that I answered your question about other media sources at the Talk:Operation Summer Rains page. Tiamut 18:10, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I'll put them in sometime. --Terrancommander 15:23, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

beating the blocked vandal[edit]

Your warnings at User talk:202.79.179.227 are not only unneeded,as the anon has been blocked fro a week, but also practically irrelevant as theall refer to edits several days ago, before his previous block by user:Can't sleep, clown will eat me. Circeus 11:53, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just so that others know that he has committed those wrongful edits. I thought it is policy for you to put the reason for the block, as well as link it to those articles for future reference? Also, I notice the lack of warnings on his page before the block, as well as the links to those he vandalised. Sorry if I caused any trouble though. --Terrancommander 11:55, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, it just seemed a bit weird. Circeus 11:57, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Lol :D --Terrancommander 11:59, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Terrancommander. Thank you very much for leaving a welcome note on my discussion page. I also like userboxes and have noticed that we both enjoy warm weather. Well, that is always a good sign. :) Bye for now. RedZebra 10:46, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Subst:'ing[edit]

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. — FireFox 10:46, 11 July '06

Sorry, too used to it, habit already. --202.156.6.54 11:58, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your support![edit]

Good evening, Terrancommander. Thank you for your support at my Request for Adminship, which succeeded with a final tally of (67/0/0)! Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have suggestions or requests - either of an admin nature or otherwise! :)

My RfA thanks[edit]

Hello Terrancommander, and thank you for your support at my Request for Adminship, which succeeded with an overwhelming final count of (105/2/0). I was very pleased with the outpouring of kind words from the community that has now entrusted me with these tools, from the classroom, the lesson in human psychology and the international resource known as Wikipedia. The Free Encyclopedia. Please feel free to leave me plenty of requests, monitor my actions (through the admin desk on my userpage) and, if you find yourself in the mood, listen to some of what I do in real life. In any case, keep up the great work and have a fabulous day. Grandmasterka 05:49, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well done! --Terrancommander 12:29, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for contributing the impressive the pile of supports gathered on my RfA, which passed with a final tally of 0x0104/0x01/0x00. I'm happy that so many people have put faith in my abilities as an admin and promise to use the tools wisely and do my best not to let you down. If I ever may be of assistance, just leave a note on my talk page.
Misza13, the rouge-on-demand admin wishes you happy editing!

Lebanese Casualties[edit]

Hi Terrancommander,

The reason that I removed the "civilians" qualification from the Lebanese casualties section of the conflict box on 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict is that none of the sources listed note the number, even with the "at least" qualification, as civilians. I have outlined my reasoning on talk as well if you'd like to respond there. Cheers, TewfikTalk 04:32, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah if they're not verified, then why not just remove everything? Seems better! --Terrancommander 04:33, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikibreak[edit]

If anyone wants me to take a Wikibreak, I will gladly do so. :) --Terrancommander 16:19, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA[edit]

Thank you so much for voting in my recent RFA. It passed on the relatively narrow vote of 38/8/8. It was also one of the least-participated-in RFA nominations in several months, so pat yourself on the back, and join the party on your left, but first, take your cookie!

NOTE: I can't code HTML to save my life. I copied this from Misza13. I guess I should write him a thank you note as well. Cookies sold separately. Batteries not included. Offer not valid with other coupons. May contain peanuts or chicken. Keep out of the reach of small children, may present a choking hazard to children under the age of 3. Do not take with alcohol. This notice has a dark background and therefore may be eaten by a grue at any time. my RfA[edit]

Thanks for your support in my RfA! Unfortunately, the request did not pass, with a vote of (43/16/7). But your support was appreciated and I'll just keep right on doing what I do. Maybe I'll see ya around -- I'll be here!
Cheers! - CheNuevara 17:32, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

my RfA[edit]

Thanks for your support opinion on my RfA. With a final vote of (62/0/1), my RfA passed, and I am now an Administrator. I will work hard to ensure that the tools entrusted to me will not be abused, and will wield my mop proudly.
Happy editing! --Firsfron of Ronchester 23:33, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA and your vote[edit]

Hello Terran,
Thanks for participating in my RFA! Ultimately, no consensus was reached, but I still appreciate the fact that you showed up to add in your two cents. (And I agree--RFA voting is cool!) You can feel free to talk to me about it or add some advice on my improvement page.

Sincerely, The ikiroid (talk·desk·Advise me)

Thanks from Yanksox[edit]

Hello, Terran, and thank you for supporting my RfA, which registered a tally of 104/4/7. Which means...

I am now an admin!!!

I was and still am very flattered by all the kind comments that I recieved, I will also take into account the comments about how I could improve. I guarantee I will try my best to further assist Wikipedia with the mop. Feel free to drop in and say hi or if you need anything. Again, thank you so much! Yanksox 04:10, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

August Esperanza Newsletter[edit]

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

September Esperanza Newsletter[edit]

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. The proposals page has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  2. Since the program in development Appretiaion week is getting lots of good ideas, it now has its own subpage.
  3. The September 2006 Council elections will open for nominations on 18 September 2006. The voting will run from 25 September 2006 until 30 September 2006. If you wish to be a candidate or a member of the elections staff, please list yourself!
  4. The new Esperanza front page design has but put up - many thanks to all who worked on it!
  5. TangoTango has written a script for a bot that will list new members of Esperanza, which will help those who welcome new Esperanzains greatly!

Concordia Newsletter[edit]

NEWSLETTER

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

Help out now![edit]

  • Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
  • Give people the Civility Barnstar.
  • Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
  • Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
  • Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

Decision Making[edit]

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.

WP:CVU status[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Orphaned non-free media (Image:Sapphire.JPG)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sapphire.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:18, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
