Welcome to Wikipedia[edit]

Hi, TGF. Just another volunteer editor here, like yourself, although a fairly experienced one. Sorry you're having trouble with your new article, Tara Grinstead. Despite being "the encyclopedia anyone can edit", the practical fact is that there are so many rules here that a newcomer can't possibly be aware of, that it's just difficult-to-impossible for anyone's first article to "stick", to avoid deletion. There are a number of problems with the article you created, the biggest currently being that its unfortunate subject appears, at first glance, not to have received enough press coverage over an extended period to meet the rather exacting rules we have here for what we call notability.

I will say, though, that it's a remarkably strong effort, what you've created, for a newcomer. But having said all this, I think it would be best if, instead of trying to explain the abundance of rules articles have to conform to, I just see what, if anything, I might be able to do to provide references to sources of additional media coverage to meet that "notable" requirement.

To be candid, I'm not hopeful, but if there's enough coverage out there, I'll almost certainly find it in news archives and such that I have access to, eg Proquest, to name just one. I don't know how soon you'll see this message, but I should be able to post back here with results within quite a short time, depending on what, if anything, I discover. Best regards,  – OhioStandard (talk) 05:47, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that was a surprise. I found a great many news sources about this. I didn't take the time to expand the article based on them, or to introduce them as references, but I did post them to the article's talk page. Since her disappearance clearly generated enough news coverage to meet requirements for inclusion on Wikipedia, I removed the speedy deletion tag. If some of the content and references I posted to the talk page don't make it into the article, though, it could possibly be attempted to be deleted by another process. It's very unlikely that anyone who looked at the talk page would propose it as a candidate for deletion that way, but if it were proposed, there would be seven days from the time it was tagged with that notice before it could be deleted.
Anyway, no firm promise, but I'll try to look in on the article, and help out a bit further, if I can find the time, over the next several days. I'll also put this (your talk page) temporarily on my "watch-list" so I should see any reply you might make here. Finally, if you get stuck, you'll find the friendly volunteers at the help desk to be a great resource. It depends on the time of day you ask a question, but you'll probably get a reply to any question you ask there within 15 - 30 minutes, sometimes even sooner. Once again, welcome.  – OhioStandard (talk) 08:54, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for helping with that. I am going to try studying those sources and adding Wikipedia - like passages to the article -- passages that reference the sources.Tara grinstead friend (talk) 22:28, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you're welcome. I've also replied on the article talk page. Drop a note to my talk page if you get stuck, and don't forget the help desk either. Best,  – OhioStandard (talk) 03:29, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ritual of the angel of death has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unclear notability/existence. Every reference given is a (homemade) Youtube video or wiki site.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ... discospinster talk 05:25, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The tag for the article is incorrect where it says all the sources are You Tube videos or websites. One of the sources is a book with the publisher listed in the reference note.Tara grinstead friend (talk) 19:56, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
