That depends on what the last topic is, and when it occurs. Theoretically, a massive unpredictable natural disaster could strike St. Petersburg, Florida, at this very moment, and the last article created before the Wikimedia servers are destroyed might be the article on the disastrous event in question. Alternatively, Cyde might decide to execute his malicious command. The possibilities are endless, and many of them are interestingly strange and unusual. Hi TantalumTelluride, thanks for voting and for your thoughtful comments in my (successful) RfA. All the voters who voted neutral or oppose had the same criticism – lack of involvement in the Wikipedia namespace. This is nice, because it is a weakness that I can endeavor to fix. Although I don't think I have the disposition or diligence to be actively involved with, say, VfD, I've recently started to participate in the Featured Article discussions and will start participating in some policy discussions now that I am starting to grasp the way the project runs. –Joke 16:46, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My Welcome Template[edit]

Thank you for your kind words, feel free to fix it up a tad. Unfortunately, I just don't want any new user to fall into the hardships I have by making sure they know that ultimately they should be wary of all the nonsense on here. I wish I weren't so jaded, but after the past few days, I think you can understand why -- i've been having alot of nightmares about Jimbo and his minions lately.

Also, i'm no whiz on templates in user space, if there isn't a way that I can place that in user space while just placing two brackets around each side of a word instead of the entire thing, I'll just throw a Tony Tantrum and recreate it in a few days. Another Esperanzial note...[edit]

Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".

The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.
