Welcome!

Hello, Syrae, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Fenice[edit]

I am not sure what motivated your comment about me on violettriggas page. But just stick around a while and you will find out that edit-warring is very common. The pack attack on me by violetriga is not the first one. That is probably why for you it may have been hard to follow the context. Anyway, if you want to talk to calm and rational and sane people Wikipedia is not the place for you. I am sorry you still have this experience ahead of you.--Fenice 22:41, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

My comment on her page was to try and inspire her to give me some perspective on what she thought was going on, much as my latter reply was an attempt to get you to tell me what you thought was going on. If I offended you, I appologize. As for why I'm involved at all, I'm really quite selfish. I want to understand what is going on so I can try to avoid or diffuse similar situations in the future. I hope you understand.
Also, can you please clarify something to me? What do you mean by "pack attack"? It's not a term I've seen before, and I'm not sure I can guesstimate its definition from the recent activities.
By the way, if I wanted calm and rational, I would have never gone to my college! Syrae Faileas 23:01, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Well thanks anyway, Syrae. I appreciate what you did. My stance is that if someone put up dumb things like that it the first place, it should stand to show what kind of person we are dealing with. Nothing against you! Don't be a stranger! Fergananim 17:21, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still new to Wikipedia, but I should have known better than to touch someone else's User or Talk page. :P I'm not afraid of people saying mean things to me, but if it's obvious that they are there just to deface (they don't even to bother to sign or format), then I take it as an attack, and the changes will be reverted. Syrae Faileas 17:28, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Understood. I personally would'nt mind but the bloke concerned is ignorant and more concerned with starting fights that adhering to anything Wikipedia stands for. I've put a request for a block or outright ban on him at Wikipedia:Irish Wikipedians' notice board. As someone who has worked for years to earn the title historian I simply can't stand fools like him. Be different if he knew what he was on about. Fergananim 17:41, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, I knew it was you.  ;) Syrae Faileas 17:44, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! Sorry about the misunderstanding. The present article looks great. Fire Star 19:18, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Computer and Video games improvment drive[edit]

You showed support for this week's computer and video games Improvement Drive.
This week World of Warcraft was selected to be improved to featured article status.
Hope you can help…

Small world, isn't it?[edit]

Hey M, don't know if you remember me from the ACM Network Games last Saturday, but... Hi. We talked a while. JD 03:40, September 8, 2005 (UTC)

You mentioned something a while ago about emailing SCU and USC or something to figure out which is the oldest. Did you find out anything new? JD 12:28, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. Yeah I've been doing other things too. :) JD 02:17, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Featured article for December 25th[edit]

I noticed that you have listed yourself as an atheist Wikipedian. You will probably be interested to know that Brian0918 has nominated Omnipotence paradox as the front page article for December 25th. You can vote on this matter here. The other suggestion being supported by others for that date is Christmas, although Raul654 has historically been against featuring articles on the same day as their anniversary/holiday. I noticed you are categorized as a Wikipedian by alignment. If you are in to userboxes, there are now infoboxes available using a standard template. See the alignment category page for details. This is a copied announcement, please reply on My Talk Page or in the category talk if you have any questions. xaosflux Talk/CVU 18:50, 20 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You have supported Greek literature at the WP:IDRIVE some time ago. I have now renominated it at the new Wikipedia:European Union collaboration. Please consider supporting it there if you are still interested! --Fenice 13:19, 7 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
