freestyle quotas[edit]

First off, very good work updating the tables thank you. Question though, why have you bolded so many of the "next eligible NOC"'s, do you have inside knowledge, or is my browser not updating fast enough?18abruce (talk) 18:21, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@18abruce : It from the data base of the FIS site... when a reallocation is accepted the put it in a specific column so I put i back in the main table (for example China in women's moguls) and the one in bold in the next elligible table is the number of available spot.

Okay, typically (2014 and other disciplines and sports) we mark in bold if the nation has accepted the quota.18abruce (talk) 18:39, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

OK perfect I'll change it... I'll reput the China first reallocation place and put only this entry in bold. Thanks for the information.

No worries, it's not like there is a "right" way. Looking around it is not always consistent. Just trying to make it as consistent as I can with what others have also done, and I really appreciate your additions. Also better with the number of small changes to only have one of us in there at a time or there will be edit conflicts.18abruce (talk) 19:04, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated !! I'm a newbe on editing Wikipedia.. I complete the change for the 5 discipline... the only bubble... i'm not able to place correctly Denmark flag and the in the first table... sorry !

I got Denmark worked out.18abruce (talk) 19:38, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks :)

bobsleigh and skeleton quotas[edit]

Two questions; where are you gettting the skeleton information? and why did you list the OAR men as having 6 qualified men, that is an impossible total.18abruce (talk) 01:25, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the men reallocation, I just put a reference regarding the spot for Jamaica and Japan. For Romania, it was already added by Spotfan. For the moment I can't found a good reference in English for this information. Where do you see 6 qualified men?
I got a ref for Romania addtionnal spot but in Romanian... not sure I should include it ? http://www.prosport.ro/alte-sporturi/lotul-romaniei-pentru-jocurile-olimpice-de-iarna-a-crescut-cu-un-sportiv-26-de-tricolori-merg-la-pyeongchang-sanse-si-pentru-bobul-feminin-de-dublu-dupa-retragerea-australiei-16961051

Oh okay, that is good. Add the romanian reference for now I think, until something better shows itself. As for the six qualified men in bobsleigh I was referring to this edit you made: [1] Six is not possible, does it come from some source?18abruce (talk) 01:43, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ok perfect I added the romanian Reference. Regarding the OAR Bobsleigh athlete it's base on the list released by the Russian Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation, that included 2 pilots : Maxim Andrianov & Alexey Stulnev + 4 breakemen : Yuri Selikhov, Ruslan Samitov, Visily Kondratenko & Alexey Zaitsev. Therefore they will be able to take the 2 spots awarded in 2-Man, but they won't be able to use the second spot in 4-Man. I didn't found any source regarding which nation will obtain this spot.

The only way to have 6 would be if there were 3 pilots, I forgot that was even possible. In bobsleigh you are allowed to take along alternates who are not part of the quota, I imagine this is the case. For instance Brazil only has 1 pilot but list 5 men going to the olympics for bobsleigh, this is still only 4 qualified.18abruce (talk) 03:16, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting I didn't know that. So for example a country that qualified two 2-man bobsleigh and one 4-man bobsleigh will only have 5 spots, therefore both brakeman for both 2-man bobsliegh will have to be on the same 4-man bobsleigh if I follow you, right? In the case of Russia both breakeman for Stulnev and Adrianov 2-man sleds will be on Stulnev sled in 4-man.

Look at the chart here for details. Page 1 has details, but page 6 explains about the alternates as well. This is a problem that will show up in many NOC articles I expect.18abruce (talk) 04:21, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks very appreciated ! :)

I just saw your modification regarding Bobsleigh Germany team where you decrease mens athletes to 12. I think we should do the same for women and only presentend 6 athletes not 8 right ?

oh yes, of course! I did not even notice that. While you are at it change their alpine total to 14 so that the total will match what their officials said; 153.18abruce (talk) 04:38, 30 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Good point ! doing it right now.

ski jumping[edit]

there was a strange discrepancy that came up during the olympics for the ski jumping team event, wondering if you had any ideas. Host should not have been included, but two extra quotas appear to have been used to allow it, in spite of the rules.18abruce (talk) 14:20, 26 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
