Alibaba Group[edit]

Hi! I saw that you contributed to the article, specifically to add information about Jack Ma announcing that he was leaving the company. I ended up merging this into the main history section and also removing part of the content for several reasons. The first is that the content is more about Ma in general as opposed to the Alibaba Group in specific - in general content like someone saying that the company is unlikely to see another like him would be something to put in Ma's article. The other reason is that the content had some issue with tone in that it took bit of a very positive, praising tone towards Ma, as opposed to being neutrally written. This wasn't intentional, but it's definitely good to be cautious.

On a side note, good job on noticing that this announcement hadn't been added - that's definitely a major announcement for the company! You've got good eyes! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:05, 19 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Gene Revolution[edit]

Thanks for creating Gene Revolution.

A New Page Patroller Rosguill just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:

This is a good start to this article, although it could use some copyediting to match Wikipedia's tone a bit better. You may also want to consider incorporating sections with content from History of genetic engineering and Genetically modified good to provide more background and context to this article. If so, be sure to properly note where the content is coming from in your edit summaries, and also take advantage of templates like {{Main}} to link to the articles. Additionally, currently the "risks" section only includes immediate risks to the ecosystem as a consequence of the introduction of GM crops. However, surveying the literature listed on Google scholar, it appears that there is also another line of critique relevant to GM crops (and thus the Gene Revolution) which focuses on the role that genetics companies play in changing the structure of the political economy of agriculture–these effects are not so much a consequence of intrinsic qualities of GM crops, but rather a consequence of how the Gene Revolution disrupts existing agricultural economies. I will link to some articles that could be useful on the talk page.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

As I have written on Talk:Gene Revolution, the concepts covered in that article were already in the encyclopedia, covered by Genetically modified crops and a number of related articles. Please consider merging your referenced content over to those existing articles, to avoid Wikipedia:Content forking.Dialectric (talk) 17:58, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
