?? European Spirits Organisation was speedily deleted earlier today for the exact same copyvio (the wp pages were/are dups of each other) Etrigan (talk) 11:31, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Ah - you're quite right to decline. I should remember to never trust another editor (or additionally, in this case, a concurring admin!) without verifying stuff myself! All the best, Etrigan (talk) 11:38, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

A7?

Would you have deleted this if I had done db-multi with A7 and G11? There are ZERO refs and no assertion of importance or significance, so A7 looks like the avenue I should have taken. Congrats on getting married. — Timneu22 · talk 15:44, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Probably not. It is very very borderline. Stifle (talk) 08:37, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Whacking the mole doesnot seem to have work. The IP 189.191.* seems to be trolling around as usual. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:56, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Just WP:RBI. Stifle (talk) 08:36, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Did try that before, but oh well. Anyways left a happy clean-up message for you in commons. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:48, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Senior Editor has a personal grudge.

Stifle, thank you for being reasonable in declining the speedy deletion for Megafoo. The same editor that recommended this speedy deletion seemed to take offense to my rebuttal and then made an extremely questionable AFD to PRISM (Project Management Software). This is a software produced by a very significant company and is by no means "non-notable". Could you please look into this? Bsanders246 (talk) 15:23, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

While I'm happy to answer questions, it looks like your question is answered in my FAQs. They're linked at the top of my talk page and in the editnotice. Why not check them out next time?
I don't intervene in other users' disputes at request; that generally tends to turn out badly for me. WP:3O or WP:WQA may be an appropriate venue to take this matter forward.
Please note, however, that there are no "senior editors" on Wikipedia. Stifle (talk) 15:26, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

deleted page Karla backery

This is not a promo from a little enterprise. In the page there is NO advertisement from any product, just talking about the story from these enterprise and where it is located. I wrote this article because i thought that more than 20 years in the community is enough for me to not to forget. Maybe i should write it in a different way, i hope you consider my request or send me advices to do. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Abel.bolanos (talkcontribs) 15:29, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. In future, please sign your messages by typing ~~~~ at the end.
Advertising or not, it doesn't look like it's notable. Can you tell me which of the criteria on that page that it meets? Stifle (talk) 15:34, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

All right. I don't know what to do for improve that page if you deleted. What should i do, give up? Abel.bolanos (talk) 15:54, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

If you can't improve the page enough to explain why it meets WP:N or WP:CORP, then it shouldn't be on Wikipedia. Sorry. Stifle (talk) 07:34, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Dixie Travel Plaza

Would you do me a favor and userfy this for me? User:Burpelson_AFB/sandbox is fine. It's an important place in the longhaul US truck driving world and I can improve it. Burpelson AFB (talk) 21:58, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Nevermind, it looks like you're offline. I'll ask someone else. Burpelson AFB (talk) 22:03, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

AE

Hi, Stifle. May I ask why was my AE request archived here? [1].  Dr. Loosmark  23:07, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

I didn't do it; it was archived for being inactive. Feel free to move it back if the matter is still pertinent. Stifle (talk) 07:33, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I would, unfortunately I don't know how to do that.  Dr. Loosmark  11:12, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
OK, I put it back. Stifle (talk) 12:18, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Thank you.  Dr. Loosmark  12:30, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

With regard to this AE request, given that:
a) despite all of Loosmark’s assertions to the contrary, you state that the only actionable part of this request was me failing to provide a diff of a post on a talk page which I was replying to and which was immediately above my post (and which was directly quoted from in my post);
b) despite being notified by Loosmark of this request, ([2]) the admin who imposed the restriction, Sandstein, despite posting in other AE requests, hasn’t contributed to the request (for whatever reason);
c) despite Loosmark’s assertions that they are “harassment” “Personal attack and bad faith assumption” and “borderline personal attacks, poisoning the discussion atmosphere”, the diffs provided by Loosmark are in your opinion not “outside the bounds of reasonable civility standards. On the contrary, Varsovian is expressing himself quite reservedly and straightforwardly.”;
and d) Loosmark appears not to want to let this matter die, despite WP:STICK,
do you think that my suggested resolution to this matter (i.e. that Loosmark and I are both completely banned from interacting with each other, or even mentioning each other) is the best course of action here?

I don't really have an opinion on it. But I'll go with that. Stifle (talk) 12:56, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Please make the ban longer and more restrictive than that which you suggest at the AE request. I've left proposed wording of the ban there. Thanks for your help on this. Varsovian (talk) 13:05, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Deleted article

HEY. How are you today? Deleting an article about a band I need info on because "If the artist isn't notable, the album probably isn't either" is a d*ck move. Congrats on the marriage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.69.203 (talk) 23:01, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

If you'd like to (1) tell me what article you're on about and (2) be civil, I might help you. Stifle (talk) 07:35, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

The WMF does not intervene in the running of Wikipedia, Wiktionary, or its other wikis, with very few exceptions. The due process amendments (5th and 14th) to the US Constitution apply to the federal government and to the states; they do not apply to Wikipedia, a private website. Wikipedia/Wiktionary/etc. do not need to apply due process before blocking or banning editors, although it usually does.
If you have an actionable problem with Wikipedia, I and other admins will try to help you. However, all I can see is that you are complaining here about actions taken on Wiktionary, which is at best futile. Stifle (talk) 19:33, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Terese Nielsen

Hello,

I am letting you know that Terese Nielsen has been nominated for deletion again, as part of a series of AFDs based on the deletion nomination of List of Magic: The Gathering artists, as you participated in the previous AFD for Terese Nielsen. 204.153.84.10 (talk) 19:37, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

FYI

You had previously participated in an Admin recall petition for Herostratus, at the user's talk page. This process has now started. It is ongoing as an RFA page, for admin recall, at: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Herostratus 2. Cheers, -- Cirt (talk) 20:22, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Hey - I went ahead and relisted this debate. Apparently, when you posted the nom on May 20, it never made it onto the log - which happens, and we have a bot that fixes such errors, except AFDBot didn't catch this one. So, it's fixed and relisted and should proceed relatively normally from here. Since there was an OTRS request on this one, I didn't just want to let the lone Keep !vote stand by default, and wanted to make sure you knew where it was. Also, congrats on the wedding! Felicitations, etc! Best, UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 18:15, 24 June 2010 (UTC)

Chicago Manual of Style cover image

Greetings. SandyGeorgia recommended I ask you for your opinion on this image [3] that's been discussed at the FAC nomination for the Sentence spacing article. I asked for other opinions at the Wikipedia:Media copyright questions page, but didn't receive a conclusive answer. As a result, I pulled the image from the article, but it would be nice to use it. What do you think? Can this image be used on Wikipedia? I know you're away, but this issue will probably still be outstanding for a while. --Airborne84 (talk) 06:43, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

This appears to be moot. Stifle (talk) 13:54, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
