Professional wrestling contributions[edit]

Hi Steveweiser. Thanks for contributing to the professional wrestling articles here on Wikipedia. Please don't add detailed accounts of what occurs on each episode of televised wrestling shows. They make articles unnecessarily large. Ideally, only include major events that happen in each wrestler's career.

Also, there's a WikiProject called Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling you may want to consider joining. Thanks again for your contributions and happy editing! --Jtalledo (talk) 19:50, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Trish As Mickie.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Trish As Mickie.JPG. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:07, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page Cheryl Tweedy have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Image copyright problem with Image:Theo_Walcott.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Theo_Walcott.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Your edits to WWE Cyber Sunday[edit]

Do not add in matches you THINK will happen. Only matches announced by WWE on TV or www.com are official, anything else is just speculation. TJ Spyke 19:57, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add week-by-week events, spoilers, or rumors to any of the WWE Articles, just like you did to John Cena. Thanks. I c e d K o l a (Contributions) 20:12, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I notice you've been adding the sales figures for number one charts and albums to this page. That's really helpful, but I was wondering where you got them from? At the moment, they're completely unreferenced which makes them unverifiable. --Robdurbar 08:58, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:WWE SmackDown Vs RAW 2007.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:WWE SmackDown Vs RAW 2007.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fame Academy[edit]

Thanks for your work on the Fame Academy page. I noticed that you have been uploading the songs from the live performances. This is great, although could you make sure that when you add a link to that page (Example: What's Love Got To Do With It?) that you follow the link through to make sure you are not reaching a disambiguation page (as you were in this case). Just makes it less work in the long run!

You may have also noticed that the page has now been split, and the Comic Relief version has it's own page at Comic Relief does Fame Academy. Thanks for your work! Timclare (talk) (sign here) 02:55, 9 March 2007 (UTC) [reply]

I don't know where the title Doing It My Way came from, and I don't know why it's listed on the BBC's charts, but please can you note that Ray Quinn's official website refers to it as a self-titled album, for example on this page. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:58, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had only changed it because more than one news source referred to the album as "Doing It My Way". If that title is not mentioned anywhere on the album packaging, then one of his fans is perfectly entitled to remove any reference to that name. Steveweiser (talk) 21:25, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did a search and it seems there's lots of references to it being called that, but as far as I can see there's no reference to that name on the packaging (definitely not on the front) and the official website says it's self-titled. Anyway I just thought I'd make it clear that I am not, in any way, a fan of Ray Quinn. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 22:05, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WWE Hall of Fame[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. However, adding content without citing a reliable source is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are certain this information is correct, please add a reliable reference to verify the information. Thank you. TJ Spyke 02:09, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please never retitle pages by cutting and pasting the contents into a new title. Pages should only be moved using the "move" tab at the top of each page. Also, the album is not titled Good Girl Gone Bad - please remember to cite reliable sources when adding or changing information about forthcoming albums. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 22:13, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, okay, but what I said above still stands. Also, remember that we're not trying to "scoop" other sources, so there's no rush to update articles with new information - when that happens, things can go wrong (e.g. page moves) and it's better to take things slowly than have to fix things. Extraordinary Machine 20:36, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent contribution(s) to the Wikipedia article Umbrella (song) are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at How to cite sources. Thanks! Extraordinary Machine 17:51, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Euro 2008 qualifying group templates[edit]

May I ask why you removed the tiebreaker information from the Euro 2008 qualifying group templates? What's wrong with having it in the templates? See also the discussion here. - MTC 19:41, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(copied from User talk:MTC/archives/2009#Euro 2008 Group Templates) I removed them from the templates because there's no point in having the seperate group threads otherwise... - Steveweiser 19:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand that logic... the reason for having seperate articles for the individual groups is because of the matches. The point in having the tiebreaker information in the group templates is so that they can be updated in one place instead of three. And could you keep a discussion in one place by any chance? - MTC 19:55, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, you have my blessing. - Steveweiser 20:21, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD Nomination: Emirates Cup[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Emirates Cup meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Emirates Cup. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. -- Jreferee (Talk) 03:46, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cyber Sunday theme song[edit]

Hi, thanks for providing that video. However, the general consensus at WP:PW is to wait for SmackDown to air in the US. I assume you won't mind waiting about 3-5 hours for that info to go in? SmackDown wil start in about 3 hours (so it depends on when during SmackDown the announcement was made). TJ Spyke 21:09, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I'm cool with that. Steveweiser 21:52, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for this edition, but I just thought about it. You used YouTube to show me your proof, right? I would avoid using YouTube videos for sourcing when it comes to WWE. Wikipedia:Copyrights#Linking to copyrighted works pretty much says to not link to cites that violate others copyrights. Since WWE has not given YouTube permission to display any of their programs (and have threatened to sue YouTube before), it's clear that YouTube does not have permission to allow WWE programming videos on their site. This means that YouTube can't be used as a source for WWE programs. If you see anyone else doing, be sure to let them know. TJ Spyke 04:51, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Girls Aloud Style.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Girls Aloud Style.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:54, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Live Lounge cover songs...[edit]

Hi! I have a keen interest in Radio 1's Live Lounge and I happened to notice that you often update the covers page (thanks..appreciated). I was just wondering how long you've been doing this and if you kept a note of dates of appearances (like I do). The reason I ask is because there are a few tracks in that list that I have researched at length and I cannot find anything to confirm they were ever performed in Live Lounge. That's not to say they weren't of course, but if it hadn't been for their inclusion in the covers list I wouldn't have tried to find out about them. Sadly the info on the Radio 1 site is a bit limited, particularly for the older shows, so I'm really hoping you can help me resolve these anomalies.

  ЯєdxxTalk 01:49, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I mainly do the newer ones as they come in - a lot of the older ones are very difficult to research, and Radio 1 don't help by only setting up a database for the newer ones. Some people even put up songs that weren't on the Live Lounge, such as the Sugababes doing "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor", which was actually performed at the NME Awards. Steveweiser (talk) 11:57, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, like I say, there are a few suspect ones included on the list as it is, which having researched these at length, I'm half tempted to remove.   ЯєdxxTalk 16:20, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have finished off reformatting the List_of_Live_Lounge_covers into table and I've also added all the dates I researched and was able to verify (although I got waylaid doing other things and am therefore a few months behind). Is the list up to date?   ЯєdxxTalk 00:57, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Chris Ogbonnaya[edit]

A tag has been placed on Chris Ogbonnaya, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

bio

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Oniongas (talk) 11:38, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion declined. Bio is not a deletion criteria - we have lots of biographies on Wikipedia. Non-notable is a deletion criteria, but probably doesn't apply to Chris Ogbonnaya. As a Brit I know little of North American sports, but I do know enough to suspect that this person meets wp:athlete. ϢereSpielChequers 13:28, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 06:06, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Matt Jay[edit]

Hi, the page Matt Jay redirects to Matt Willis. What's the reason for that? It's not made clear after reading the article. Regards, Sustructu (My Talk) 16:05, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:47, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
