These are some really good changes you are doing. Keep it up. Just one suggestion, change the new image to something, where Gaga is looking towards the text, as per MOS:IMAGES. — Legolas (talk2me) 04:00, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know why you have never replied to my messages, probably you don't like me. But oh well, that doesn't change the fact that you have done an awesome job on the prose of Lady Gaga. You should extend your contribution to other Gaga articles also. — Legolas (talk2me) 15:12, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Shush you! Whenever I get a positive message from you it makes me feel like I've accomplished something! AS IF! I don't dislike anybody - and I mean that so purely. :) Thanks for your nice words! I will continue on Gaga articles! xo - Stephenjamesx (talk) 15:59, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I really couldn't do that amount of prose corrections like you, its simply amazing. If you wanna start on any Gaga song, I would advice the prose of Bad Romance, the song is so close to being a FA. Thanks again for your contributions. — Legolas (talk2me) 16:02, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! *Blushses* I better get working then! ;) Stephenjamesx (talk) 16:06, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering, with such wonderful work, why the hell is Kerry Ellis not GA yet?? Legolas (talk2me) 16:08, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I wondered that too! Hahaha. Aaaaw! Thank you! You're so kind! xo - Stephenjamesx (talk) 16:15, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Is it? Back at the music articles people are really scared of me. :( I don't know why... I better let you work your magic on "Bad Romance". :) — Legolas (talk2me) 16:18, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(→)Wow, great job on the lead. Take your time with the body of the article. And for this, you can refer to the Michale Jackson unreleased song which is a Featured list. I'm sure you will make this one also a featured list. :) — Legolas (talk2me) 03:44, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I have stayed in Northampton for almost a year. Superb place man! :) — Legolas (talk2me) 10:54, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again for your kind words. :) Haha. That's just a little project I started... might finish it... might not! And OMG! You liked Northampton!? It's home, for me, but I just find it ludicrously boring! I want to travel! I want houses all across the world! Where do you live? xo - Stephenjamesx (talk) 20:05, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
At present I stay in Bangalore, India. How can you say Northampton is boring, its such a cuddly-wuddly place! :) So where you wanna travel first? and hey is "Bad Romance" fine? — Legolas (talk2me) 05:39, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've deleted the image that you're using in the infobox for this page: policy requires all nonfree images to be used in at least one article, but it's only used in your userspace. If you had moved the page to mainspace, there would have been no problems with the image; accordingly, if you move the page to mainspace, just leave a note at my talk page and I'll happily restore the image. Pls take part in a conversation[edit]

Hey, I'm not sure how keen you are on Lady Gaga's concert tours, but we have an obvious problem with Billboard's reliability. (It says Monster Ball Tour is her first, but as you can see, we have an article on Fame Ball whose sources talk about it being the first tour.) I started a conversation here, pls take part if you are interested. -- Frous (talk) 03:06, 4 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gay icon[edit]

Stephen, this is just some awesome work. However, one tiny suggestion, its just one huge prose, and you need to divide it into sections based on her career. Try Janet Jackson as gay icon, which is a Good Article and you can include pointers from it. — Legolas (talk2me) 13:59, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I'm glad somebody's looked at it. I've been wanting some feedback! :') I've changed it around, although I admit I'm not terribly happy with it as it stands... but we'll get there! Tell me what you think? :) Stephenjamesx (talk) 23:18, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Totally agree on her being one of the major LGBT icons of today, and the article draft looks solid, a very good start. She seems much more committed to her LGBT following and to their issues than Madonna ever was, committed to them as people, not as a pool of fanboys, dancers, record buyers or clubbers, and that bond sems to be reinforced from their side too.

For my own take, I'm not sure she's a great singer but she's undeniably an interesting visual/stage artist and performer and able to turn her talent to some genuinely subversive things. The way she twists around stereotypes of gender, fame and power is very intriguing too. She's both intelligent and gutsy, no question about it.Strausszek (talk) 02:10, 29 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Stephenjamesx. You have new messages at Wikipedia:Requests_for_feedback/2011_July_9#User:Stephenjamesx.2FLady_Gaga_as_gay_icon.

I posted the following to the feedback page, just copying it here:

After posting, I realized you are actively involved with the Lady Gaga article. It doesn't mean that someone won't propose a merger, but it does mean it won't catch you unawares. As for the quotes, I'd simply suggest replacing most of them with {{Template:Quote}}. If you check out the doc , check out the see also section for some alternatives. Note in particular the note that Cquote is "not for use in articles". You might identify one of the best, and use {{Template:RQuote}}, but use it as a pull quote, that is, make sure the quote is used within the article itself, then additionally as a left or right aligned pull-quote.

As an aside, I've been discouraged about how rarely someone responds when they get feedback, so thanks you very much for responding. It helps make it worthwhile.--SPhilbrickT 02:20, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well I think it warrants its own article anyway. She's such a supporter of the LGBT community and it is key to her as a artist, unlike those who have pages under "as a gay icon" - Madonna who just sees them as a fan base (IMO) and Judy Garland who, because of the illiberal state of society she lived in, we don't really know where she stood in terms of appreciating the LGBT community. End of rant! Thanks for the feedback! I've changed the quotes into the formatting you recommend. I await a review from the LGBT portal and while the Gaga Wiki community think the article may be plagued with "recentism", have suggested maybe it should not be titled "Lady Gaga as a gay icon" but something more inclusive of the LGBT community - as she encompasses all areas of the community, not just the G. But I'd like to get this article out there. :)
And as for replying: I think it's important to appreciate everything any person does on this planet, especially if it aids another. :) Stephenjamesx (talk) 14:18, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can appreciate the issues about the title, and have no brilliant solutions. I do hope it doesn't become a committee decision. Titles should be crisp. I'll cite Climatic Research Unit email controversy as an example of what not to do. I look forward to the article. I am utterly uninterested in most of the pop culture in music, but I find LG fascinating.--SPhilbrickT 15:18, 11 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lady Gaga as a gay icon[edit]

Hi Stephenjames,

I'm a contributor on the French Wikipedia. I just read "Lady Gaga as a gay icon", you did an amazing job! It's very interesting and well written. Is it finish ? I wondered if I could translate it in French. I want to ask you first because I don't know if you still want to improve it as it's a subpage. Anyway, congratulation for the wonderful work.--Raphael99 (talk) 00:43, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would be very happy for you to use it and develop it if you wish! It's a work in progress - by no means is it finished, but it's up to date. Bon chance! Stephenjamesx (talk) 17:50, 14 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you've expressed concerns over the Fame Kills: Starring Kanye West and Lady Gaga page. Re: Will Young[edit]

Thanks! It's a long work-in-progess, and I'm happy for a helping hand. I'm pretty happy with everything up to the Recording career section, although I probably will have to edit out some stuff. I haven't even touched at anything from that point, or researched it, so that's where I'm at right now. Matthewedwards :  Chat  17:08, 19 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Scratch that; I wrote the first paragraph of that section. So jump in from the sentence Young's follow-up single was another song he had performed on Pop Idol, "Light My Fire", which also entered the singles chart at number 1. PS. My aim for this is WP:FA. Stephen, I think its time to make this piece of gold, live. I will just do minor copy-edits and then you make it live. And damn it, reply. I cannot discuss if you don't reply to my messages. :( — Legolas (talk2me) 17:06, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm so sorry I haven't replied! What were you planning on me to do with that info? I was thinking maybe another paragraph could go under Musical and performance style that would describe both her music videos, the choreography and could outline her relationship with Gibson, and recent change to Jackson? Thanks for your kind support! There's a bit of updating to do on that page but go ahead! :) Stephenjamesx (talk) 17:23, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank god you are alive. :) Well the bio article is all yours so please do as you wish. I will do some copy edit on the LGBT article and then you move it. Also, nominate it for DYK and GAN. — Legolas (talk2me) 17:32, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Adam Lambert - Please Respond[edit]

Thank you for your efforts in improving this page. Could you please correct your references, and in the future include title, dates and other details as appropriate per Wiki References and citing sources You have been using bare urls only. You made such massive edits in only a couple entries that it is taking forever to try and make sense of some of it - what has been deleted, moved, added, where and why. Your good intentions and perhaps really great and certainly needed changes have been carried out in a manner that makes it difficult for other interested users to participate in this process. It would help the other users and aid in continuing efforts to make this article better if you would enter the edits as soon as possible that contain important items removed by you. Hopefully we can then move on from there and work together with better communication in the future. Also would you please keep in touch on the talk page so we can avoid any misunderstandings. There is no reason we can't all work together harmoniously, keeping in mind at all times the goal of making Lambert's article the very best it can be. Thanks, Stephen. If you don't plan on doing further edits on this page utilizing the deletions you made, as promised, then would you please advise so other users can start the unpleasant task of putting back one by one some of the important entries you highjacked and said you had plans for and would return. This is not helping improve Lambert's article which I thought was everyone's goal here. (Omgoodnessme (talk) 20:18, 29 January 2012 (UTC))[reply]

As far as I know, this is NOT an article you have ever edited, or have any particular interest in (although it does, naturally, mention musicals). Some one wants to hijack it for academic musical theory as opposed to general interest (at least that is my impression) and s/he and I have a dispute going. I would especially appreciate your opinion, as we have not, as far as I can remember, ever either clashed or agreed about anything in particular. Perhaps you will see in his argument something I am missing. --Soundofmusicals (talk) 13:25, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review limits changed[edit]

This is a notice to all users who currently have at least one open peer review at Wikipedia:Peer review. Because of the large number of peer review requests and relatively low number of reviewers, the backlog of PRs has been at 20 or more almost continually for several months. The backlog is for PR requests which have gone at least four days without comments, and some of these have gone two weeks or longer waiting for a review.

While we have been able to eventually review all PRs that remain on the backlog, something had to change. As a result of the discussion here, the consensus was that all users are now limited to one (1) open peer review request.

If you already have more than one open PR, that is OK in this transition period, but you cannot open any more until all your active PR requests have been closed. If you would like someone to close a PR for you, please ask at Wikipedia talk:Peer review. If you want to help with the backlog, please review an article whoe PR request is listed at Wikipedia:Peer review/backlog/items. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 00:53, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
