Talk-page left behind[edit]

Hi! You've renamed Md.altaf.rahman to Dead.rabbit, but you seem to have left his user talk-page at User talk:Md.altaf.rahman. Was that intentional? Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 10:59, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Justlettersandnumbers: thanks for warning! This was caused by a filter. We global renamers that are not global sysop or global rollback have problems with filters constantly. I try fix. To help, you can set to me extended-confirmed or another groups that me free of filters on this wiki? Tks! Stanglavine (talk) 11:38, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I can move only some pages, but I can't move talk pages and .js or .css. You can fix? Stanglavine (talk) 11:45, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It looks as if Galobtter (who surely has a better understanding of user rights than I do) has changed your status here to confirmed. Please tell us if that isn't enough to allow you to do all that you need to. Will you move User talk:Md.altaf.rahman or do you want me to? Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 12:02, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict)I gave you confirmed, which allows bypassing the move filter here. I've moved the talk pages; JS and CSS pages can only be moved by interface admins, so I've posted a note asking them to be moved at WP:IANB. Galobtter (pingó mió) 12:06, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Galobtter and Justlettersandnumbers: Thank you! Stanglavine (talk) 12:10, 1 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Rename concern[edit]

Hi Stanglavine. You recently renamed User:Burasari Group to User:Burasari2002. I'm concerned that this new username still appears to be a clear violation of WP:CORPNAME, since it clearly refers to the company as a whole, not to a specific individual. Without meaning to be a dick about it, can I ask you to explain the reasoning behind that change, please? Yunshui  12:50, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yunshui! I am not an editor in your local project, but I understand that "2002" characters in username make it possible according WP: ISU (item 4). Corporation names are allowed if don't implicate shared use. I'm wrong? If yes, you can keep the block and explain this to user, that he need to request a new rename. If not, I see no problems with renamed to "Burasari2002". Regards, Stanglavine (talk) 14:59, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thing is, 2002 is a year (or a number), not a person. I mean, I guess I can see your argument, but the name of the company plus a number doesn't - to me at least - indicate that it denotes an individual rather than, say, a company founded in 2002. BurasariTimothy or BurasariJanet, no problem, but to be honest I would have blocked them if that had been their original username. Maybe one for discussion? Yunshui  18:25, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Yunshui: I agree that name of company + a number not tipify an account as individual, but it is writhe in WP:ISU. As global rename, I'm forced to adopt the policy. And, according policy, "Burasari2002" is possible. At least in my point of view. Regards, Stanglavine (talk) 20:39, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm really not seeing that in the policy at WP:ISU. Tell you what, let's throw it up against the wall at WT:UN and see what others think. I'll go and start a thread there now. Yunshui  21:19, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to be consensus at Wikipedia_talk:Username_policy#Names_and_numbers that this new username is definitely not acceptable under the policy, so I have declined the user's unblock request. Yunshui  13:07, 2 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Everedux. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Technical lettering— because it did not appear constructive. September 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. From AnUnnamedUser (open talk page) 16:35, 27 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Hey, thanks for the rename. Cheers! Karan (Theintuitus) (talk) 12:43, 23 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on User talk:202.47.56.218. I do not think that User talk:202.47.56.218 fits any of the speedy deletion criteria  because We don't normally speedy delete user talk pages for any reason at all; Deletion as a test page is explicitly out-of-scope in user space, where test pages are welcome. If you wish, you may try using the simple proposed deletion (PROD) process, or the full articles for deletion (AfD) process, instead. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 00:03, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Links[edit]

Hi, I've noticed that on some articles the word "psychologist" is linked, while on others, it's not. When should we link the word and when should we not? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.61.222.89 (talk) 20:50, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Generally, when the topic can be interesting for the reader, considering the article he is currently reading. But you don't need use <nowiki> tag, just insert [[page]]. See how insert and when insert. Regards, Rafael (stanglavine) msg 20:58, 26 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted[edit]

Hi Stanglavine. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Cabayi (talk) 16:53, 30 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
