Hi, 0. NO, Gaumata is not Smerdis. At least not according to most sources. The debates are 01: what was the real story of that killing. 02. who was Gaumata (and not Bardia). 1. That theory, you mention, is not "alternative". 2. Do not get angry with "hypothetical", because it is. 3. Wikipedia has rules (please see the answer at talk page (specially "POV" policy, yes wikipedia pushes some POV!) 4. I will write an article on that story very soon and my account will include your favorite version, but I will use better sources, if you do not mind.
