  • Accounts are not deleted. You stopped using your previous account and started using this one, and you clearly did so to avoid scrutiny.--Bbb23 (talk) 18:31, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I asked for a deletion on the previous account and it was granted as far as I’m aware but i changed the name before my deletion so maybe that messed it up.
No it wasn’t to avoid scrutiny I just wanted a fresh start. Sqirm (talk) 18:38, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There is no means of deleting an account, so I'm not sure what you were granted, but it wasn't that. It is possible to delete something like a user page, but that does not delete the account itself. 331dot (talk) 09:26, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I must have deleted the user page thinking I was deleting the account itself but that clearly wasn’t the case.
I think creating a new account probably wasn’t a good idea (especially if I’d have known it would be considered a sock puppet account) but I was getting so stressed by my situation on over categorising that I just did it without thinking.
I now realise that was wrong. Sqirm (talk) 09:58, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wanting a fresh start is a means of avoiding scrutiny- there are proper ways to do that, this isn't one. 331dot (talk) 09:27, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request for unblock[edit]

Request reason:

My decision to create to create a second account was very stupid on my part but it wasn’t done with malicious intent. I was getting quite stressed over a situation on my previous account about overcategorising and instead of dealing with it head on I just create a new account to run away from it which was wrong. I wasn’t even aware of any sock puppet volatiles and if I did believe me I wouldn’t even dream of creating another account, because of my autism I get stressed quite easily and don’t think things through. I promise if you let me back I won’t do it again but I can also totally understand if you don’t. I should also mention that I know you’re supposed to use your original account to unblock but I can’t access it because I’ve forgotten my password and my IP address is also blocked so I can’t change it.

Decline reason:

OK - it took me a while to figure out the history, because you got your old account's name changed (for future reference - the old account, Potter45, was called User:Bob3458. Relevant history at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive1131#User:Bob3458 and Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive1133). OK, Sqirm - I'm declining your request because I think either you are not being completely honest, or you have not done enough reflection on what led up to this. You got into a bit of bother about categorisation, so much so that some editors were calling for your account to be blocked at ANI. You said that you would stop, but instead you got your account renamed, created a new account, and got right back into categorisation disputes, bringing another editor to ANI just a few days later. Are you really telling us that you weren't trying to evade scrutiny there - pretending to be someone else? I'm not prepared to unblock you without a way more convincing rationale, and a convincing commitment not to repeat past mistakes. Girth Summit (blether) 14:49, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I also was under the impression that deleting a talk page also deleted the account itself but I now realise that isn’t the case Sqirm (talk) 08:51, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
