Welcome and introduction[edit]

Hi, Sp4rr0W. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck!  Chzz  ►  01:34, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

November 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Ortles, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: Ortles was changed by Sp4rr0W (u) (t) blanking the page on 2009-11-04T19:35:29+00:00 . Thank you. South Tyrol[edit]

Hi Sp4rr0W, there are basically two options to protect pages against vandalism. One is to (semi)protect the pages, see Wikipedia:Protection policy. Since most of the vandalism here is from IP's, semiprotection would be sufficient. The disadvantage is that "good" IP's can't edit the articles either.

The other option is to block the vandalising IP's and users. Given the disruptive nature of their edits and the repeating pattern (changing Tyrol to Tyröl, removing German names, calling the county of Tyrol a colony, adding silly stories about Geppetto Maestro etc., calling other people fascists and neonazis), I wouldn't be surprised if they're all (including Kellyempire) the same person. If they start attacking the articles again, we have to give them the warnings (like {{Uw-vandalism2}}), and if they persist, we should report them to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism.
