DRV[edit]

Hello. There is a DRV at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2010 August 4 concerning the restoration of an userfied version of an article on whose AfD you commented. You may be better able to determine than I whether the concerns in the deletion nomination are met. Regards,  Sandstein  06:07, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Arsh Malsiani, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://publicationsdivision.nic.in/Lang-Pub/Kannada/LK01.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. Kalidasa date[edit]

Hi, do you have a source for this edit? Looks interesting. I've removed it temporarily, until a source is found. Regards, Shreevatsa (talk) 20:01, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I had seen a report of this find in a past issue of The Times of India New Delhi edition. It was a reported that a cave inscription in Prakrit and Sanskrit had been found in Bhanpura Tehsil of Madhya Pradesh indicating Kalidasa to have lived during the time of Shibi Janpal 2nd or 1st century B. C. I thought this fact was well-known. I am now eagerly seeking the relevant details. I have appreciated your efforts.Regards.Soni Ruchi (talk) 11:51, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, if you know the date of the TImes of India issue, it would help searching for the source. If true this would be big news, so I'm surprised I can't find any mentions of it on the internet. Regards, Shreevatsa (talk) 13:42, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am reverting to you on this subject after a long time. I am to submit that try hard I did I could not evoke any response from the Times of India or Archeological Survey of India. But I did notice an interesting post dated 08/03/2011 in Ancient Indians - Satya Samhita [[1]] that reads -

"Kalidasa said that he started writing Jyotividaabharana in Vaisakha maasa of Kali 3068 which corresponds to 34 BCE."

What is your opinion? Do let me know. Regards.Soni Ruchi (talk) 12:34, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Zarina Sani[edit]

Ruchi Ji,

First of all thank you for creating the page on my mother, I do intend to expand the page in coming weeks as and when time permits. There is a lot to be added about her literary life including her other books, collection of ghazals. The main problem is that I, shamefully so, cannot read Urdu. However now I do have some erratic help and hopefully this will be done soon. I presume you are Zia Fatehabadi sahab's granddaughter, I have a postcard from him to Ammi and picture of him with Ammi (and several others) taken sometime in late 70s. Am sure there must be a lot more but I don't know....

Qataa[edit]

There is already an English Wikipedia page on that topic - Qat'aa. So, the best idea would be to edit that, and add to it, and improve it.

You could copy/paste from what you wrote in Wiktionary:qataa - but it's best if you do that yourself, instead of me - so that the history shows you wrote it.

Nomination of Ravinder Kumar Soni for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Ravinder Kumar Soni is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ravinder Kumar Soni until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Dougweller (talk) 12:40, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources[edit]

Have you read WP:RS? We can't use forums as sources. I see no evidence that Ravinder Kumar Soni meets our criteria either. If you disagree, you can ask at WP:RSN. Dougweller (talk) 12:45, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Use of peacock words[edit]

Please don't put peacock words in articles, see WP:PEACOCK. This would include 'eminent'. Thanks (whenever I see those words, I think "someone wants me to think this person is important, but is he really?). Actions speak louder than words, as they say. Dougweller (talk) 17:31, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

AfD[edit]

Hi I noticed your comment at the AfD here: Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Ravinder_Kumar_Soni. One of your articles Ravinder Kumar Soni was nominated for AfD, but don't be disheartened. This doesn't mean that fellow wikipedians don't value your efforts, but in this particular case they did not feel it was sufficiently notable. See the general requirements for the existence of wikipedia articles at the following link: WP:GNG. Reading up on this link can help you learn about what topics should exist on wikipedia. You might want to consult WP:RS about what sources should be used. IRWolfie- (talk) 09:51, 22 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Zarina Sani for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Zarina Sani is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Soni Ruchi, to show notability you need to show what reliable sources there are on this topic and show they give significant coverage. This way we know that a referenced article can be created. If you find sources, bring them to the Articles for Deletion discussion linked to above. IRWolfie- (talk) 09:38, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you need any advice or help?[edit]

Dougweller has mentioned to me that you appear to be struggling a little with our policies and guidelines. He has also said that he considers you to be acting in good faith, which is a good sign. I have been editing a lot here over the last 18 months or so and a lot of what I do is related to Indian articles, with a fair few Pakistan etc ones in the mix also. I won't claim to know every policy but I do know my way around. If you need any guidance then just leave a note here and I'll pick it up - I have added this page to my watchlist. - Sitush (talk) 16:12, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dear Sitush Ji, Namaskar, I appreciate your offer. Frankly, having seen numerous articles standing for very long with what now appears to be far less required references as also far more irrelevant references, I thought whatever little I had done was proper and acceptable because a few pages that I had created were in due course expanded and reviewed by many contributors and editors; these pages stand listed on my user page out of which one has been deleted and another is most likely to be deleted. Can you examine the remaining ones and let me know where the weakness lies? Please delete the articles you do not approve of now itself. Thanks. And also let me know whether it is proper for me to remain associated with Wikipedia keeping in view my notsoveryagreeable work? Then I need not bother other editors who instead of scolding me degrade the subject. You know as a house-wife I have many other obligations to attend to and the time I devote browsing Wiki can be utilised there. Regards.Soni Ruchi (talk) 08:20, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, please do not be discouraged by what ever has gone on. Let's see if we can sort a few things out: the regulars on Wikipedia are generally a nice bunch of people and they will offer guidance etc. Sometimes things may look a bit harsh but that is most commonly in situations where, for example, there are legal issues because someone has added copyrighted material - such material needs to be removed, and as quickly as possible.

Can you give me the names of the articles that you are concerned about. And remember, your real life must come first: there is no rush and almost anything is reversible here. - Sitush (talk) 08:28, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your immediate response. Yes, I am no longer as confident as I was. Kindly examine all articles I have posted even if it means I am bothering you. I wish I had known you earlier then I would have consulted you. Regards. Soni Ruchi (talk) 08:47, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can we start with one article? The chances are quite high that whatever is causing difficulties is being repeated at others. Do you have one that particularly frustrates you? Or annoys you? Or confuses, or whatever :) - Sitush (talk) 09:10, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My effort in order to gain experience has been to post a three or four-liner stub and wait for more information to flow in either through other more-knowing editors or through self-efforts and add. Presently, I am keen to know whether pages - Aijaz Siddiqi, Khushtar Girami, Alam Muzaffarnagari, Arsh Malsiani for instance, can develop into full-fledged articles. In case they do not what is expected to be done particularly when in the respect of most Indian writers of note there is practically no information available on the internet and if there is that is as I have now understood invariably termed unreliable including their publshed works that are cited. This is the hurdle I do not think I can overcome.Soni Ruchi (talk) 11:09, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'll try to take a look at them today. Newcomers often find it quite difficult to understand what is or is not a reliable source on Wikipedia but even if it all goes wrong this time, please do not give up. - Sitush (talk) 11:35, 26 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sitush Ji, Thanks for your valuable guidance and for your moral support. I have since studied in detail the relevant guidelines. I have arrived at the conclusion that out of the 18 articles that I had created (expecting later development) and out of which one already stands deleted, five i.e. Alam Muzaffarnagari, Khushtar Girami, Aijaz Siddiqi, Dil Shahjahanpuri and Shifa Gwaliori have not attracted attention of any contributor and therefore, the notability of these otherwise well-known poets is not established as per Wiki criteria. These five pages should now be deleted without discussion I suppose; kindly delete them. Two articles i.e. Naresh Kumar Shad and Salaam Machhalishahari were submitted by me under Articles for creation and got approved. As regards the remaining 10 articles which have from time time been worked upon by other contributors one i.e. Zarina Sani is being debated under Afd, notability in case of Raaz Chandpuri, Ravish Siddiqi, and Pandit Harichand Akhtar is also not clear even though they are much respected poets; about these I cannot suggest any action because other editors are involved. This is my assessment. During the past four weeks I have learnt a lot. Thanks once again. Do respond. Regards.Soni Ruchi (talk) 07:44, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Restored your edits at Siddhi[edit]

Greetings, I've restored your edits at Siddhi as I don't feel fully capable of judging this particular niche of material, so I'll cede the case and leave it up to other editors specialising in the topic to develop the consensus. I may have been a bit quick on the Revert because I was doing a batch of cleanups; not blaming you here, but just noting it would help people feel more comfortable with your edits like those if a) you tried to make edits in a cohesive group by checking your edits with Preview rather than saving, editing a little more, saving, editing a little more, etc. and b) if you give clearer Edit Summaries, and use them each time. Again, I should've checked closer, but the pattern of using no Edit Summary or a very brief one (like "adding info") and making lots of small edits is a behaviour often seen with vandalism or poor/uncited editing, so making larger single edits and using clear Edit Summaries would help your edits be more readily identified as constructive on the History tab. Just a suggestion to avoid alarming cleanup-editors like me who are on-edge watching for poor editing, which I agree yours was not in this particular case as best as I can tell. Sitush brought me here. I do not understand what concept in Hindu astrology is the article talking about. It is very confusing. What Sanskrit term is being translated as astrological/planetary aspect?--Redtigerxyz Talk 10:34, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Redtigerxyz ji, I have not mentioned anything about Hindu concept. In my article I have brought to the fore the three major differences that distinguish Hindu astrology from Western astrology and thereafter proceeded to lay-out in brief the three main Hindu systems concerning astrological aspects. I did not find any separate term in Sanskrit having been used for astrological aspects other than ग्रह द्र्ष्टि फलं , दृष्टे, पश्यते, इक्षिते . The article is not at all confusing; I have in a simple and direct way high-lighted basic principles and their application. As I understand an encyclopaedia does not teach, it merely informs to the novices and to the exponents. Therefore, I have not taken recourse to explaining through illustrative examples. You have read Sanskrit texts and also translations and commentary in English on those texts. I have worded the article following the same traditional method.Soni Ruchi (talk) 12:20, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
User:Redtigerxyz, you seem to have missed this part. There is a discussion in progress on this article of mine. Please see section below. Prior to my writing of this article it took me four weeks of intense study to grasp the basics of Hindu astrology, a person who has grasped those basics can easily follow what I have written without being confused. I now ask - why can't there be a separate article on planetary aspect per Hindu astrology when besides the article on Western astrology there is the separate article high-lighting planetary aspects per Western astrology? Why this ably crafted article of mine is being singled-out for non-acceptance? I have since submitted an article on Brihat Jataka (Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Brihat Jataka) I wonder how that one is going to be treated. As of now I am afflicted by fatigue caused by my failed attempts to convince the reviewers who are editors and contributors expected to collaborate to help each other as you and Sitush have done but not to find fault and dismiss the efforts of others.Soni Ruchi (talk) 03:52, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sitush informed me about this. Anatman is a Buddhist philosophy that basically says that there is no atman, while Hinduism in general believes in atman and opposes Anatman. [2][3]. However, Advaita has a concept of Anatman in a different sense. Out of the article, only the last section deals with this. You can merge that section with Anatta#An.C4.81tman_in_other_Indian_traditions. --Redtigerxyz Talk 10:29, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Redtigerxyz ji, I have noticed this section carries a tag since 2008. This has to be removed. I can substitute the already posted text by a concise version of my article in purport at par with the rest instead of the last section alone, in case you approve.Soni Ruchi (talk) 12:35, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No need of my approval. Be WP:BOLD and edit the page. :) Feel free to completely rewrite that section and remove the tag. If it needs improvement, will help. IMO, only "The Advaita concept of Anatman" seems relevant to the article. I could not understand what is "world phenomena" (which Sanskrit term are you hinting to?) and its direct relation to Anatman. PS: no need of ji's --Redtigerxyz Talk 13:18, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
User:Redtigerxyz,I have re-written that section also explaining in context "world phenomena" and its direct relation to Anatman. The Sanskrit word used for "world phenomena" is Brahmanda.Soni Ruchi (talk) 02:52, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It is better than the section earlier in the article, but IMO we can simply it more, and stick to only the concept of Anatman, not deal much with Brahman. Have modified it. Please check if the meaning you wanted to convey is not lost. Thanks --Redtigerxyz Talk 16:21, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Redtigerxyz, I have checked your edits which are okay with me, but I feel that a major thought that paved the way for Advaita Vedanta to take shape and develop now seems to be a mere passing reference and nothing more. Adi Shankara occupies a very important place in Indian Thought.Soni Ruchi (talk) 03:03, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to msg on my talk: IMO, as I said earlier - Out of the article, only the last section deals with Anatman. In wikipedia terms, other sections are WP:UNDUE. Anatman is primarily a Buddhist concept, so IMO Anatman should direct to Anatta. --Redtigerxyz Talk 16:31, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Soni,

There is some discussion about your article as to whether it would be an expansion of the section Hindu astrology / Drishtis – the planetary aspects. The word Drishtis is not used in your article. Can you explain why your article would or would not fit as an expansion of this section? Thanks. --  :- ) Don 16:22, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

:- ) Don, Kindly go through my proposed article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Astrological aspect (Hindu Astrology) once again. In this article I have, exercising great care in making it brief and comprehensive without resorting to any original research, by keeping it neutral in tone and by duly supporting the factual statement with citations of the highest order, high-lighted almost all salient factors concerning planetary aspects of the three important systems in vogue, which mentioned factors cannot be omitted at the cost of brevity. If I were to substitute the existing section on Drishti of Hindu astrology, which existing section incidentally touches various other factors pertaining to these systems but only superficially, then, the entire article Hindu astrology will certainly lose its present very finely laid-out balance. Had it not been so I would have gladly expanded the said existing article. This is what I have been repeatedly telling each editor who has cared to review my proposed article.I have not used the word Drishti because this word ipso facto does not indicate planetary aspects alone.Soni Ruchi (talk) 02:32, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
P.S.: For a better understanding of planetary aspects in Hindu astrology I am to draw your kind attention to a) online Astrology Lesson No.7 of K.N.Rao http://www.learnjyotishnow.com/Astrology_Lesson_7_3.html and b) to the book titled - Aspects in Vedic Astrology by Gopesh Kumar Ojha and Ashutosh Ojha. Pages 53 onwards. http://books.google.co.in/books?id=51yc4DYha-wC I could not have written about aspects in more simple terms. I am not insisting that my proposed article must be accepted, my contention is that by merging my article with the existing Hindu astrology the entire article Hindu astrology is bound to suffer because then each section would require rewriting up to raise them to the same level. No, I repeat No,I am not at all being adamant about the inclusion of my article. If I have failed in explaining my view-point the fault is mine not of the reviewers. Frankly I did not expect such a resonse.Soni Ruchi (talk) 06:52, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Soni,
I guess I was not clear in my question. I am asking if your article was accepted as it is, would it be proper to point the Section Hindu astrology / Drishtis – the planetary aspects to your article? Or, could your article or the main article Hindu astrology be modified to fit with each other? I'm sorry, I am not really interested in learning all the intricacies of Hindu astrology, I am depending on your opinion. --  :- ) Don
:- ) Don, I wrote this article after reading that particular section on Drishti and therefore, it would be proper to point that section to my article. I am not at all in favour of modifying the main article Hindu astrology which I find is so very beautifully balanced. Yes, if my article is accepted as it is I can work on it raising its level and contents.Soni Ruchi (talk) 01:18, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You should create the article using Wikipedia:Article wizard without submitting it at AFC, since you have an user account now. Drishti as a concept is notable. Merging the article with Hindu astrology or astrological aspect is WP:UNDUE IMO. Link Drishti article as in Wikipedia:Summary style.--Redtigerxyz Talk 16:39, 9 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do some copyedit and then ask the reviewers to review. Don't submit the second article to AFC now. Have you prepared it? --Tito Dutta (talk) 01:29, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have started copyediting, please write short summary of eac chapter if possible. Short means 1-2 lines unless only chapters' names will not be helpful. Here I can see short summary of chapters are given. Tell me if you decide to do it and if you decide when it is done. I'll convert some more refs to inline citation then. --Tito Dutta (talk) 01:49, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Tito Dutta Ji, I have given short summary of chapters of Brihat Jataka. Sorry, I have already submitted my other article- Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ Ānanda (Hindu philosophy).Soni Ruchi (talk) 04:36, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The new article has similar issues. You can learn how to add inline citation.
For example we want to cite this page http://www.eaglespace.com/spirit/gayatri.php
Now open Wikipedia edit box. at the toolbar above see there is a link "Cite". Click on that. Now see at the left there is a new button "Template", click on that, then click on "Cite Web"
Now in the pop up box in URL write http://www.eaglespace.com/spirit/gayatri.php, in title write the article's title "Gayatri Mantra and its meaning", in the accessdate click on the calendar icon which will insert the current date and optionally you can write the website's name too. Click on "Insert" below. That's all, an inline citation has been added.
If you want to cite something else, don't click on Cite web, click on Cite Book or Cite News etc.
See if you understand these, give some try in User:Soni_Ruchi/sandbox, then if you want I'll tell few quick tips!
Note this is important, both of your articles have citation related issues! --Tito Dutta (talk) 13:20, 26 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Soni, I approved your article but had to do some cleanup. Your basics are getting better and better, but you really need to work on WP:Neutrality. We can't use words like "erudite", "beautiful", etc since those are subjective. And any claim like "the best, most cited, most important" absolutely must be cited to some kind of authority on the subject, preferably academic. Your work is getting better and better, and helping to cover the topic of Hindu astrology, so continued improvement in sourcing and tone will really help out the quality of the articles. Thanks for your work! MatthewVanitas (talk) 17:45, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your post[edit]

"Adoption" might be incorrect word. In Wikipedia it means "editing suggestions". I still need suggestions every now and then. And I know I am not the only one. You have done improvements in citations formatting. Congratulations. Why are you going to AFC still? You can directly create articles. I have 260+ articles in Wikipedia, never went to AFC (though AFC is a very god process, but, I have not tried) To create an article directly (I mean the process I follow)–

  • In the search box type the article's name and press "Enter"
  • If the article does not exist, no result will come, but, there you'll get the title in red link.
  • Click on the red link and start writing article.

--Tito Dutta (talk) 08:26, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles you may create[edit]

In Yunshui's talk page I suggested you to forget Ānanda (Hindu philosophy), (technically you can not get article creator's attribution now, but you should I feel), there are thousands are more topics to work on.

For example see this list Adi_Shankara_bibliography#Prakara.E1.B9.87a_grantha, there are lots of books, treaties, slokas where articles can be created. If you create any click on those red links and you'll be redirected to article creation page. Make sure to check first that those articles already don't exist.

You don't need to necessarily work here. If you are not interested/you are busy with some other works, then okay no problem. These are just examples where you can work.

  • For references you may search in Google Books and use this tool to quickly format reference. This tool works like this- find any page in Google Books which you want to refer, copy paste the URL and paste in the tool, it'll give you the full Wikireference code, copy paste in articles. --Tito Dutta (talk) 08:39, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ānanda_(Hindu_philosophy)[edit]

Hi soni ruchi, In wikipedia there are lot of contributors and an article is usually never written with only one authors point of view , there are constant edits and correction all the time , but this also means that you do not delete the whole previous article and change it to author point of view, if you are skeptical regarding any topics or details inside the article you need to mention this in talk page and thing have to be decided on mutual discussion may be with an outsider involved. so i am revising your edits in the above page so if you are skeptical on any things please mention this in talk page and we will descide. I do know you are honest editor with honest intent. Shrikanthv (talk) 10:27, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Civility Barnstar
This was a remarkably level-headed and mature response to the reversion of your edit. Do remember that Shrikanthv doesn't own the article either, and you are perfectly entitled to continue editing it. I'd suggest, though, that you try engaging Shrikanthv and other editors at the article's talkpage, to get consensus for adding material to the page. Yunshui  13:46, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A few more suggestions[edit]

Greetings Soni, I ran across another of your submissions at AFC. I do, overall, agree with Titto that your skills are great enough that you no longer need AFC. You are certainly welcome to use it if you prefer, but feel free to simply create articles now that your skills are sufficient. I had just a few minor comments regarding Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Sarvartha Chintamani.

  • WP articles don't actually start with "Subject of my article is...Sarvartha Chintamani". That's simply there as a guide to remind you to start your WP:Lead paragraph. One doesn't literally type "Subject of my..."
  • Your citing formats are great, and you've gotten a lot better about using WP:Independent sources to prove the significance of your subjects. While you can briefly quote the original works, what we really need is later commentators noting "this book is very important because... this book was used by Astronomer X in 1453 in the development of... historians have used this book to better understand... etc". Ideally, those commentators should be both "believers"/advocated of Hindu astrology, as well as people outside that community who are observing it from a historical/scientific perspective.
  • One bad habit you must fix: the start of your article says Sarvartha Chintamani [1][2] - what are [1] and [2] substantiating? You haven't even made a claim yet, so there's noting to footnote. If you were to say "Book X was written in 1485 by Sanjay Smith and covers the phases of Venus.", then you could footnote A Study of Venus in Hindu Works as a academic book which does indeed note the 1485 date and the author. But it makes no sense to simply footnote after the title. Similarly, a few times you say something like "Also there is Book Y[3]" where footnote [3] is simply "Book Y. Edward Gupta, Acme Press, 1975.". A footnote is to prove something, not simply note a book exists. If Book Y is vital to the article, just put it at the end under "Further reading" or some similar section. Every time you put a footnote, just ask yourself "what statement/claim am I helping to verify by adding this footnote?"

Nice work, and I hope you continue to write articles, communicate with other editors and WikiProjects India and Hinduism, and overall enjoy yourself! MatthewVanitas (talk) 16:12, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comment[edit]

Hello Soni Ruchi

I have seen your 'retirement' notice but I, personally, think it is premature. I believe you have a lot to offer on this site.

Your contributions on Urdu poets and writers may have been stubs to start with, but they are extremely useful and relevant, especially as you once stated somewhere that you yourself know little Urdu, which means you did a lot of research before creating the articles. You have given all these poets and writers a well-deserved permanent platform here. Zia Fatehabadi would have been proud of you. I actually met him once in my younger days.

The events of the past few days, which have led you to announce your premature retirement, should not dishearten you. I, for one, don't think you are to blame for what has transpired.

Think of what you have achieved here, rather than the setbacks. Go to the bottom of any page which shows your contributions, click on 'articles created' and the list looks pretty impressive, considering you are a teacher, a housewife and a mother and are usually doing your editing here in the wee hours of the morning.

What is perhaps really sad is that the article on 'happiness' actually seems to have caused a lot of unnecessary unhappiness. But then, unhappiness is always unnecessary.

Lots of people retire early or prematurely from whatever they have been doing and then come out of retirement when they realise they still have a lot to offer. I hope you, too, will reconsider your decision and remove the 'retired' signpost on your User page!--Zananiri (talk) 00:00, 3 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Namaskar! the article Anātman is in a good condition (though some minor formatting issues). You can create it directly when it is ready! Tito Dutta (talk) 07:28, 6 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, unfortunately both titles Anātman andAnatman are blocked! What exactly you want to name it? --Tito Dutta (talk) 03:12, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you can name it Anatman (Advaita)! Or you can name it Anatman (Hinduism) too whichever you think is better. Now choose a title and Ctrl+Click on the red link.
Anatman (Advaita)
Anatman (Hinduism)
In a new tab you'll directly get the "Create an article" option, copy paste everything there from sandbox and tell me when you are done/not done! --Tito Dutta (talk) 03:26, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you have done correctly! Now, if you want to change name, it may be needed, move it! --Tito Dutta (talk) 03:37, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ananda (Vedanta)[edit]

That also looks great. Some error

  • Try not to start a section header with "The".
  • Use <br/> for line break wherever needed. Don't use double line spacing.
  • Do not use unecesary bold in article body.
  • And finally and most importantly "neutral secondary sources".

You can create this article by clicking here Ananda (Vedanta)! Post in my talk page if you have question! --Tito Dutta (talk) 03:58, 7 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it looks great! I have unhidden those categories. Please add some secondary neutral sources too if possible! --Tito Dutta (talk) 00:55, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the "In line citation" looks good. You can search in Google Books for more citations. The merge proposal looks legitimate and relevant. Though you can propose the reverse merge too (i.e. ask to merge that article to your article, but don't place any template now, it'll make things more complicated). Whether you support, oppose or suggest the reverse merge write your points clearly and write the word "Oppose" etc in brief.. your post should be like this:

* '''Oppose:''' I oppose this merge because.... (your points)

or you can change your vote too to Support or Comment etc. --Tito Dutta (talk) 08:33, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

Thanks and my best wishes.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:Liberation (the Advaita Vedanta concept)}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 00:00, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
