DYK nomination of Joseph Smith presidential campaign, 1844[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Joseph Smith presidential campaign, 1844 at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Johnbod (talk) 13:49, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article Solomon Copeland has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ~**_mustafarox_**~ (talk) 22:47, 18 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Joseph Smith presidential campaign, 1844[edit]

On 25 August 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Joseph Smith presidential campaign, 1844, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that in 1844, Latter Day Saints founder Joseph Smith became the first Mormon to run for President of the United States and the first American presidential candidate to be assassinated? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Joseph Smith presidential campaign, 1844. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Joseph Smith presidential campaign, 1844), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

A tag has been placed on Structural libertarianism requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from econlog.econlib.org/archives/2009/01/policy_all_the.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 22:00, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Michael Anissimov requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Disambiguation link notification for October 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dark Enlightenment, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Marginal Revolution and Richard Spencer (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Request reason:

Pursuant to WP:IAR, I ask for an unblock on grounds that my recent behavior has been productive and that being allowed to edit will allow me to improve the encyclopedia. Smooth alligator (talk) 19:18, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Smooth, I don't know what your history is but you need to work this out with the powers that be. If asked I will vouch that what editing I saw from you was legit, though I don't know how far that will go. In the meantime please don't make this situation worse by socking or editing as an IP. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:32, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I see from the SPI that you had multiple accounts running. I fear that it will be a longtime, years, before you will be able to request a WP:SO with any hope of it being seriously entertained. That said I have seen banned editors come back after a multi year wait. If there is hope it will certainly require that you refrain from socking. The ball is in your court. -Ad Orientem (talk) 00:42, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Male expendability[edit]

Hello Smooth alligator,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Male expendability for deletion because the article appears to be about something that you or someone you know personally invented, coined, or discovered, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important—that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.
