Welcome![edit]

Hello, Shurebusiness, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions, such as your edit to the page Brooke Hogan, have removed content without an explanation. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can place {{helpme}} on your talk page along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 00:11, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Brooke Hogan, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. You cannot just copy the text while viewing the article and paste it into the editing window. When you do that, you lose some of the supporting code like the references. Those need to be left in place.C.Fred (talk) 00:19, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Brooke Hogan, you may be blocked from editing. References are a necessary part of the article. Do not delete them.C.Fred (talk) 00:53, 17 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I was given some correct information from Brooke Hogan correcting some of the facts. My intent wasn't to be disruptive. What is the best way to do it. --Shurebusiness (talk) 05:35, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There are three issues at play here. One is, when you edited, you completely obliterated some of the formatting. You need to be careful not to remove the reference tags when you edit.
The second is, if you were given the information from Hogan herself, there are a number of restrictions in play. WP:Verifiability states that information used in articles should be from published sources so that users can verify the claims. If you got the information directly from Hogan, it wouldn't be published, so it would fail this criteria. If Hogan had published it herself (website, Twitter, etc.), then it would become a self-published source, and those can be used under limited circumstances.
Finally, if you're adding material that you got from Hogan, then you probably have a conflict of interest with Hogan. While you aren't prohibited from editing the article, best practice is to request edits on the talk page.
Here's what I recommend: Go to Talk:Brooke Hogan and indicate what you want to change and the source that supports the change. Example. "Please add that she left Clearwater Central Catholic High School and attended Admiral Farragut Military Academy, based on..." For easiest verification, provide a link to the website where the information is posted. —C.Fred (talk) 15:44, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Stuart Fraenkel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
