Beer category decision[edit]

A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. If you're interested, please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Beer#Brewery_cats. SilkTork *YES! 17:53, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your AIV report on 12.219.49.46[edit]

Thank you for your report on 12.219.49.46 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log). Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and you are encouraged to revert, warn and report inappropriate conduct. I have however declined to act on this report for the following reason:

Appears to be a shared IP address, used by multiple users. This is probably an other user, please don't hesitate to re report if they resume vandaling and are properly warned.

The Guide to administrator intervention against vandalism might be a helpful read if you wish to improve your future reports. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Cheers! -- lucasbfr talk 16:49, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

de Struise article[edit]

Hello. I have been quite impressed by your articles about Dutch and Belgian breweries. You have provided very good information that, I imagine, would be difficult if you only could read English. IAC, in your article about de Struise, you wrote that they were originally homebrewers. I do not believe that is correct. Here is an article from a Belgian newspaper about de Struise from 2005: http://www.nieuwsblad.be/Article/Detail.aspx?ArticleID=G74HPKH2

I believe the third and fourth paragraphs will make it quite clear that they were not homebrewers at any time. If you have any trouble reading the article, I will be happy to translate for you. Mikebe (talk) 16:50, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think you did it the right way (responding to my message). Regarding the article, I will do a re-write about it as I think there are so important points about them that should be mentioned. I hope to do it over the next few days. Mikebe (talk) 11:44, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry for the delay in responding. A friend and I are in the midst of planning a trip to Annafest and die Fränkische Schweiz in two weeks time. I will try to do something with the article before I leave, but I cannot give guarantees. Sorry. Mikebe (talk) 10:06, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. I thought it might be better to correspond by email. Is that possible? Mikebe (talk) 11:16, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Parcel of Rogues (album), and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Parcel of Rogues. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. Changing article titles[edit]

Hi Shorn again. If you want to rename an article in the future, please make sure you use the "Move page" option instead of creating new articles and copy-pasting the content there. So-called copy-paste moves do not preserve the article history, something that is required by our licenses and the terms of use. Because you did that, I had to go through all this to repair the history. I would therefore appreciate it if you used "Move page" in the future. Orphaned non-free image (File:Bfm-logo.gif)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Bfm-logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Timothy Ferriss[edit]

Take a look at the edit histories for both Timothy Ferriss and The 4-Hour Workweek. The IP editor makes very clear that he/she has some sort of personal axe to grind with the topics of the articles, and has been very, very insistent on including material that fails WP:NPOV, WP:V and WP:BLP. Further, he/she has come up against WP:LEGAL with commentary directed at myself and at least one other editor, complaining that because we've been reverting unsourced, dubious and -- reading the text of the proposed edits in context with the remainder of the articles -- completely unrelated matter, we've been attacking him/her personally.

I thought I kept my tone very civil, but apparently my insistence that he/she provide reliable, verifiable sources and citations for the material was taken as an ad hominem attack. That, and the fact I'd already reverted enough on my own to run afoul of WP:3RR, caused me to step away from the matter for a time.

I still don't see anything in the included text that indicates why it meets WP:V, and even under a "Controversy" heading, it reads to me as WP:NPOV. That was my primary reason for adding the RFC flag to both article Discussion pages.

Your input is most welcome here. --Alan (talk) 14:24, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Brouwerij De Molen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

1. notability not established 2. no good ref in English 3. advert

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Widefox (talk) 20:48, 22 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The core of this article remains unreferenced. I tagged where needed. The tone in places sounds promotional, so advert tag replaced. Central problem is lack of quality 3rd party ref. Widefox (talk) 11:41, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Declined BLPPROD[edit]

I've declined your BLPPROD on Heather E. Geddes, as the article was created before March 18, 2010, making it ineligible for that process. You are welcome (even encouraged) to look for sources for the article, and to use PROD and/or AfD to request deletion of this article as appropriate. I'm attempting to get a response from the article author; so far I've gotten no response. If I don't hear from them by Saturday evening (EST) I'm going to put the article up for deletion and revert the other changes. There are also issues with their images on commons. Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Alvinne sign.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! If you would like to participate in conversations and are interested in Wikipedia, may I recommend creating an account? Regarding the Dallas Austin page, my own involvement has been limited to trimming dead links and external links beyond the subject's primary web presence as defined in WP:ELOFFICIAL. If you have referenced credits for things he has done, please feel free to add them to the page yourself, with the appropriate sources referenced.
