A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. IAC, in your article about de Struise, you wrote that they were originally homebrewers. I do not believe that is correct. Take a look at the edit histories for both Timothy Ferriss and The 4-Hour Workweek. The IP editor makes very clear that he/she has some sort of personal axe to grind with the topics of the articles, and has been very, very insistent on including material that fails WP:NPOV, WP:V and WP:BLP. Further, he/she has come up against WP:LEGAL with commentary directed at myself and at least one other editor, complaining that because we've been reverting unsourced, dubious and -- reading the text of the proposed edits in context with the remainder of the articles -- completely unrelated matter, we've been attacking him/her personally.
I thought I kept my tone very civil, but apparently my insistence that he/she provide reliable, verifiable sources and citations for the material was taken as an ad hominem attack. That, and the fact I'd already reverted enough on my own to run afoul of WP:3RR, caused me to step away from the matter for a time.
I still don't see anything in the included text that indicates why it meets WP:V, and even under a "Controversy" heading, it reads to me as WP:NPOV. That was my primary reason for adding the RFC flag to both article Discussion pages.
