If you want us to move your version of LesTout.com, please let us see it and approve it - otherwise the page stays salted. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 09:36, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  1. Please put on a separate page (such as User:Shivaji Mitra/LesTout.com).
  2. I don't think I'm the right admin to check this one out - I believe that WP:RUP is the best place to make the request (note - this link is a shortcut to a section of an other page.)

added User:Shivaji Mitra/LesTout.com and posted a request at WP:RUP Thanks.--Shivaji Mitra (talk) 10:59, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Though I have added a request at WP:RUP on 7th April 2008. I am still waiting for a decision. --Shivaji Mitra (talk) 11:38, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Waiting for a decision. Not sure whom I should contact now. I left a message in my user talk page also. Thanks. --Shivaji Mitra (talk) 11:40, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd recommend relisting it at WP:RUP, and if you don't get a response - consider bringing it up on the administrator's noticeboard. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 05:14, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lestout-2008-screenshot.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lestout-2008-screenshot.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:27, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for LesTout-favicon.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading LesTout-favicon.png. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 09:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:LesTout-logo.png[edit]

I have tagged Image:LesTout-logo.png as {{orphaned fairuse}}. In order for the image to be kept at Wikipedia, it must be included in at least one article. If this image is being used as a link target instead of displayed inline, please add {{not orphan}} to the image description page to prevent it being accidentally marked as orphaned again. Melesse (talk) 07:20, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All the images i have used so far is being diplayed in a separate page (User:Shivaji Mitra/LesTout.com) as requested by Admin עוד מישהו Od Mishehu. Should I add the {{not orphan}} ?
No, fair use images must be in an article, that is just a page in your userspace. Melesse (talk) 05:21, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Lestout-2008-screenshot.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lestout-2008-screenshot.png. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 10:49, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on LesTout.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of LesTout.com and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. AndrewHowse (talk) 15:03, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A request regarding the University of Calcutta article[edit]

Since you have edited the University of Calcutta article in the past, could you address the issue of why one of the editors is constantly reverting to the ad tag, repeatedly, without bothering to edit the article. See Talk:University of Calcutta for details.

Conflict of interest policy[edit]

Information icon Hello, Shivaji Mitra. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. People with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, see the conflict of interest guideline and frequently asked questions for organizations. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, its competitors, or projects and products you or they are involved with;
  • instead, propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 16:17, 11 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

January 2016[edit]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Website builder. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Grayfell (talk) 10:24, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:58, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, and if participating, good luck with the finale!

A tag has been placed on User:Shivaji Mitra requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello Shivaji Mitra, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Guidelines for Indian Government Websites, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Guidelines for Indian Government Websites.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Sohom Datta}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
