Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). But, since you visited my talkpage, I'd like to ask: is there any source, which state that Sevastopol City Council was controlled by the Russian military on 6 March? I saw such sources for Supreme Council of Crimea and its 27/2/2014 vote, but for Sevastopol... That link, which purpotes to "confirm" that, is a) dated 22 March 2014 and b) doesn't say anything about Sevastopol City Council, so verification failed. --Seryo93 (talk) 18:09, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Kerch railway bridge

Hello Seryo. As you can see, I have done some edits to this article. I hope you approve.

On the ice damage: Do you know if this was pack ice or an ice floe?

And do you know of a map locating this bridge? It looks like the rail line went further south down the Chushka Spit than the present line and crossed to the remnant of the bridge in the strait marked by the coordinates, but it is not clear where it entered Crimea.

Population of Russia Issue

I am only putting accurate information regarding the population, Russia has halted their decline and besides, the 35,000+ people lost were not mainly deaths, they fled the country and I saw there real population growth and the statement you added on the page is highly incorrect. I highly advise that you fix this at once, I sited these sources and I don't want to get into another dispute with you or anybody. Please cease this action and fix it, this is preposterous behavior and I'm trying to give the community good information. Once more, they are no longer declining. If you at least include a steady sign of the pages, it will be acceptable but the decline was countered. The death rates fell further in the last five years, please fix this.

Just stop your IDONTLIKEIT-driven vandalism. Whether deaths or emigration, it doesn't change the fact that there was a decrease of population. Time will tell whether such a decrease will contiune, but 2020 population as reported by official statistical agency of Russia is lower than 2019. Russian population

Look, I will not touch the page again but I want you to see something clearly. the 35,000 decline were not mainly deaths, they simply migrated away from the country. Their natural growth rate is slow but it's not declining. Therefore, it is halted. These projections are accurate according to the growth rate in the next 3-4 years. Even if they lose 35,000, they can still build it back up, it was only a hiccup in their growth rate. I'm trying to be as faithful and honest as possible, you may not think so but I assure you I am. Can you at least change the birth and death rate please? My concern was that disregard of historical context is the same issue that caused previous ban. But with regard to particular article most of this concern has been dispersed by the source provided, so as for that article possible move I no longer have principial objections. That would be "at worst", in the case of strong and persistent disruption (similar to earlier case of claims that "no consensus means X variant" despite not uncertain statement to the contrary ("There is no consensus for either X or Y.") right in the preceding section), not necessary immediate effect. Still, "blind insistence" on "use X name for all cases, regardless of historical context, goes well against point 3 of WP:NCGN general guidelines, specially " unless there is a widely accepted historical English name for a specific historical context", and WP:NCGN#Use English, last paragraph. So, it is problematic, and thus sources and links are ought to be provided to prove that in historical context this or that variant is used. Battle of Lwów (1920) despite Lviv; and a similar possibility of "generally Donbas but in WWII [and perhaps other historical contexts] Donbass" was certainly not nil. I have struckthrough your comment on Talk:Russia because it is false beyond a reasonable doubt

Hello Seryo93. I don't have anything specifically against you, but I have decided to strikethrough the sentence wherein you said "In any case, the claim that 2014 event was the first annexation in the world since WWII is, indeed, not true.". The reason for this action is that your sentence is objectively false, because it misquotes @Mzajac as saying something that he didn't actually say. I've noticed that I myself have been writing walls of text largely in an effort to disprove your accusation, but I've basically already disproven your accusation within the first few sentences, and I have just been rambling about other topics after this point. For the benefit of other users who are coming to read this talk page segment, striking-through your comment makes it very clear that this sentence of yours is false. This helps to prevent the spread of misinformation or disinformation. If you have any objections to this action of mine, you should first state them here in this talk section. You are free to go and remove the strike-through ON THE CONDITION that you reword the sentence so that it is no longer objectively false. Otherwise, if you remove the strike-through and leave it as it is, then I am going to have to take this case to ANI. Thank you for your attention, and regards, JN. Note: It's occurred to me that Mzajac did at one point mention the "Category:Annexation" as a place where comparable situations could be found (comparable to Russia's various actions towards Ukraine). With that being said, he didn't precisely say that he was only talking about annexations. Obviously, I've partially derailed the discussion myself with my own wall-of-text comments. My proposition to solve this problem is that BOTH of us remove our comments. So, you should remove your ENTIRE comment about annexations (because all of it is based around the misquotation of Mzajac), and I will remove all of the replies that I posted directly beneath your comment in question. Involvement of user ChipmunkDavis

I predicted something like this would happen, although I never specifically mentioned it in my statements above. User:Chipmunkdavis has manually reverted my edit without a good reason, in spite of the clear reasoning that I gave. At this stage, I can't charge Seryo93 because they haven't done anything wrong. The charge effectively lies with CMD. However, I will give CMD the benefit of the doubt and make them aware of this discussion. If they show defiance, then I will take this incident to ANI. There is only one problem that I have, and that's that there's an objectively false sentence involving a misquotation of another user that I would like to see either struck-through or removed. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
