You are correct in saying that I deleted this article (in November of last year). This was because their was in the article no assertion or evidence of wikipedic notability: I have reviewed the article, and this is still my opinion. Whether he has or had notable relatives is not relevant; notability cannot be inherited or otherwise passed from person to person. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:24, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- In answer to your comment on my talk page; I do not dispute that the gentleman in question has a number of achievements to his credit, and it seems at least likely that they would, if mentioned in the article, cause him to be seen as notable. But the point is that they were NOT mentioned in the article. Notability has to be asserted in the actual text of an article; the presence of data elsewhere, such as the site which you quote and which I have looked at, is not relevant. I will, if you wish, place the deleted text here, on this page, to allow you to work on it. Naval Tata was the father of Ratan Tata, the chairman of the Tata group of companies.
Naval Tata was born on the 30th of August 1904 in Mumbai. He lost his father at a very young age and was adpoted by Sir Ratan Tata and Lady Navajbhai Tata. He was married to Sonoo Comiisariat with whom he had 2 sons - Ratan Tata and Jimmy Tata - and Simone Tata with who he had one son - Noel Tata.
Naval Tata held senior positions in several Tata companies such as Tata Sons and also in the International Labour Organization (ILO).
