I want you to take over uploading Tropical Cyclone images since I am retiring[edit]

@Sandy14156 Hello, this is Cyclonetracker7586 I want you to take over uploading tropical cyclone images since I have been noticing you are uploading them now also I am retiring from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons and I've lost interest in uploading images. My schedule is cluttered since I am starting college soon and trying to work on getting my degree in meteorology and atmospheric sciences, also I am working 12 hours at my job and be tired when I get home. If you need any help improving your images, I can help. I will still respond to my talk page for now if I am not busy, cheers. Cyclonetracker7586 (talk) 18:15, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can take over the TC images, however I may need help with polishing VIIRS images from worldview because these images don't turn out the best for me. I have lots of free time for now anyways ~ Sandy14156 (Talk ✉️) 23:04, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Sandy14156 I think I know what you are talking about. The VIIRS images will not load properly after a certain amount of pixels if you have it on 250m resolution that's been like that on Worldview for a year and I contacted the people run Worldview last year and they said they would "fix it" and for some reason they haven't. But usually what I did was capture two smaller images then combine them together, take two images (7300 by 4300 pixels) one image is for the southern side of the storm and the other is for the northern side of the storm. Then go to paint.net or GIMP or Photoshop and try to combine both images. Cyclonetracker7586 (talk) 23:59, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not what I meant at all, I never get that problem that you've mentioned above. What I meant is toning down the brightness of the cloud cover and enhancing the VIIRS images and all that, I can't get consistent with that. See File:Arlene_2023-06-02_1900Z.jpg for example where you corrected my file. ~ Sandy14156 (Talk ✉️) 01:45, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I thought you were mentioning that worldview issue never mind. Okay, so I am assuming you are editing your photos on paint.net or GIMP. Go to curves; it should be under adjustments on paint.net, and on GIMP it should be under colors and drag the white line slightly into the fourth box in the second row. That would gently tone down the brightness of the image, and the enhancement is simple. You could just sharpen the image a tad bit. Cyclonetracker7586 (talk) 02:05, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah so that's how you do it. Thanks for the advice! ~ Sandy14156 (Talk ✉️) 02:12, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Using new colors[edit]

Hello. "track.png" refers to old colors; please use "path.png" which refers to the new ones. You used the old ones (maybe unintentionally) here. Jasper Deng (talk) 18:31, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The track with the new colors needs to be updated then, since the one with the old ones got some extended EX points. ~ Sandy14156 (Talk ✉️) 02:46, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't really matter. WP:SOFIXIT with respect to new colored maps, which must be used in place of the old colored ones unconditionally.--Jasper Deng (talk) 07:11, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
