February 2019[edit]

Hello, I'm Nzd. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Andrew Nelson (footballer) were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Nzd (talk) 23:39, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2013–14 Dundee F.C. season moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, 2013–14 Dundee F.C. season, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2018–19 Dundee F.C. season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Scott Wright (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Re-Scottish kits - A thank you[edit]

Just want to repeat these sentiments. Your work is amazing and much appreciated especially in non-league. I have one or two requests if possible. Caledonian Braves full kits are out (white and navy) and Vale of Leithen (Lowland League) have a new home kit.

Thank you.

Hello, Rossbatchelor. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "1961–62 Dundee F.C. season".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! JMHamo (talk) 09:29, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Nicholas Hamilton (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sir Sputnik (talk) 15:20, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The player is about to join a team in a fully professional league, which is the reason I felt it was appropriate to create the article now. Rossbatchelor (talk) 15:22, 27 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Chances are he will play for Dundee but he's not considered notable until he makes an appearance in at least one Scottish Championship match (and even then there are arguments that he wouldn't meet the notability critera). I if were you I'd just grab a copy of the page details and then re-create the article once he meets the notability criteria. Oh, also, just FYI but the Scottish Championship isn't fully professional as Alloa and Arbroath are both wee teams part-time/semi-professional :P I'd also be tempted to call Raith a wee team but they might have something to say about that!!! XD Have a great day! :) Exxy (talk) 14:11, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Corey Panter requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Corey Panter. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Luke Strachan moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Luke Strachan, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Dundee season article[edit]

Hello,

Hope you are well,

Just wondering why you undid my edit to the Dundee season article for next season. Happy to discuss.

Hello Stevie,
I hope the undoing of the edit does not come across as intending to cause confrontation as that is definitely not the case. I wish to try and maintain consistency between Dundee seasons as previous seasons also use the same format. To a lesser extent, it is also simply a matter of personal preference for me, as I prefer the collapsible box format to the table format.
I appreciate the efforts to standardise most of the Scottish football season pages and understand the reasoning of the guidelines behind it. As someone who has worked largely unaided on Dundee's season pages for years without any complaint about the formatting however, I would prefer to continue the format which I have established over several years and pages, as well as the fact that there are plenty other and bigger football season pages which utilise the same system I do with little complaint. This is all in good faith and I hope you understand my desire to keep consistency in my own way, as I appreciate your good work in various places around the other season pages.
Thank you for being understanding! RossBFD (talk) 00:40, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, not at all. It's just BRD so I understand. I understand what you are saying as well. My only rationale for the edit was to improve the quality of Scottish club season articles by helping them meet MOS:ACCESS (basically, the collapsible football box doesn't work with screen readers in the way it should) (as an aside, the footballbox renders as a table so technically whichever format is used it is a table format). What I don't want to do is come in and ruin Wikipedia for you or the all the work you've done on the Dundee articles. It would be nice if the format which has become fairly widespread met Wikipedia's policies and guidelines but, for whatever reason, that's not the case. Wikipedia is not and will never be finished so this is maybe one of those tasks that will take a long time to complete, if it ever is.
I would like to work with you and make these articles more accessible if possible. I'll respect your position though. I'm always happy to discuss further too. Stevie fae Scotland (talk) 14:37, 16 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
