Possible downgrading of A1 GP WikiProject to Taskforce status[edit]

Several users have started a conversation at WP:MOTOR about the possible downgrading of the A1 GP WikiProject to taskforce staus. I have notified you because your name is on the A1 GP Members list. The discussion is ongoing, and is located here. Davnel03 18:40, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Eurocup Formula Renault. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 17:42, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tabs are our friends[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that recently you carried out a copy and paste page move. Please do not move articles by copying and pasting them because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. -- But|seriously|folks  03:10, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please read the Talk:Formula Renault champions page.--Mumia-w-18 13:57, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also remember to "watch" pages that you create so that you can check them in your watchlist.--Mumia-w-18 13:58, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not blank articles. If content is bad, you can take the articles to one of the deletion systems, such as WP:CSD, WP:PROD, or WP:AFD. But blanking of articles is never the correct way to handle bad content on the project. - TexasAndroid 16:22, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: your edits to Team Rosberg[edit]

Thank you for your contribution, Rollof. However, could you properly reference your sources for the table data? You have provided only top-level URLs without following the article's footnote standard. Please add a footnote (in standard format) to the heading of each table, with a link to the exact page that you used. In its current form, neither editors nor readers can readily check the veracity of the data. Adrian M. H. 12:13, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References added to Team Rosberg. I'm adding sources to other racing team articles I've contributed with results tables. - Rollof1 14:06, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DEFAULTSORT[edit]

Hi Rollof1, I have noticed you have been adding the DEFAULTSORT template to articles recently. Just to let you know that this feature is a magic word and not a template, and the correct construction is {{DEFAULTSORT:Sortkey}} rather than {{DEFAULTSORT|Sortkey}} or {{defaultsort|Sortkey}}, using ":" instead of "|". The template was created to prevent confusion and shouldn't be used as it creates an uneeded dependency on a template. Please ask if you have any questions. Thanks, mattbr 16:31, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understand, its just a mistake during fast categories edits - Rollof1 (talk) 22:20, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2007 Northern European Cup[edit]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article 2007 Northern European Cup, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Formula One pre 1950[edit]

Formula One most certainly did exist before 1950. The category was created, and rules were drawn up, as early as 1946. From 1947 the vast majority of international races were held either to this formula or else Formula Libre (if the organisers wanted to draw some of the pre-WWII behemoths out). Many of the "Grands Prix" that you have identified were not, and for you to go around and delete all mention of F1 prior to 1950 is both wrong and very disruptive. Pyrope 15:52, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Some other racing series should be mentioned there...

LATAM Challenge Series (http://www.latamchallengeseries.com.mx)
- first season: 2008
- Tatuus 2.0 + 2.0L F4RS engine

Super Fórmula 2.0 (http://sites.google.com/site/superformulasp2009/) *
- first season: 2009
- Tatuus 2.0 + ??? engine (for ethanol [!] fuel, mentioned here: http://www.racetv.com.br/index.cfm?pagina=programa&video_id=578 !video!)
- inofficial successor of the Fórmula Brasil 2.0

Fórmula Brasil 2.0 *
- only did one race weekend as support of the WTCC at Curitiba 2008, then failed
- inofficial successor of the Brazil F. Renault Championship

Formula 16 (former homepage: http://www.formula16.be/)
- successor of the Belgian F. Renault 1.6 series
- first season: 2008 - failed mid-season

Austria Formula Renault Cup (http://www.austriaf3cup.com/)
- first season: 2007 most probably
- runs together with the Austria F3 Cup

NEZ Formula Renault (http://www.sbf.se/nez/ - 2009 calendar can be found on http://www.formelrenault.se/)
- first season: 2007 (mentioned as NEZ Formula Baltic/Formula Renault Cup) or 2008 (mentioned as NEZ Formula Renault)
- A mixture of Formula Baltic and Finnish Formula Renault events (+ Swedish F. Renault in future)!?!? I haven't understood it yet...

* EDIT: I just saw that these two series are included in the 2008 resp. 2009 season pages...

Thanks for these series. I knew already some of them but I haven't find many informations. I will look at these links and complete as necessary the Formula Renault related page. Thanks - Rollof1 (talk) 09:03, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the table - please check! (The source can be found on the history page.)

May I ask if you had PDF files for the remaining results? When I searched for those results back in 2008, I found most of them - especially the ones of the earlier events - only in the articles they had linked on the official homepage (which weren't very precise). Or did you even use the standings' page to "reconstruct" the results? (I can't remember if this was possible though...)
Anyway... Keep up your good work! :-) --78.42.28.167 (talk) 09:29, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The official website is now defunct (probably as the series). I've no more references (I didn't know the one you used for update the table, thx). The defunct pdf was the complete standing by points (no position). If I remember, there was also pdf for each races with points and neither finish position. So yes, I've probably reconstruct the table. The standing should be correct for the first 10th drivers and you complete my blanks. But why I never understood was why drivers out of points have actually some points! The point system is right. - Rollof1 (talk) 12:57, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
On closer inspection, it can be said that "your" standings aren't the latest they released in those PDF file on the offical Fórmula Júnior homepage - however the newer ones were strange, too, as Rémy K. (isn't it "Kirchdoerffer" instead of "Kirchhofer"?) still had points!
OK, I re-discovered them on the homepage of Araújo Competição some seconds ago:
http://www.araujocompeticao.com/site/images/stories/noticias/classificacaogeralfjfr20.pdf
I've learnt one thing: Don't ever completely trust in official standings... Even 2008's official Formula Renault NEC standings are weird! I asked their press person via e-mail about the crudities in their standings (in earlier 2009 or so), but - what a surprise! - didn't get an acknowledgement of these mistakes. And without confirmation, I can't put the corrected table on Wikipedia. --78.42.28.167 (talk) 19:26, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The pdf you find is edited in december, my edtition of this table was before that month. So you can use it.
It's "Remy Kirchdoerffer" as in this result table from another series or in some other websites. The first round reward too many points, the standing I used was from a race result pdf, so it should be correct, but not the points - Rollof1 (talk) 18:13, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"So you can use it."
-> OK, I will do it soon then. --78.42.28.216 (talk) 22:29, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Strange stuff in Formula Renault tables...[edit]

Hi, it's me again. As I mentioned two days ago, there are some strange things to be found even in official standings. Here's a list of what I remember:

If you want, I can change these tables - but I don't have any confirmation that they are actually mistakes.
At the end I want to ask you two questions:

  • Why don't you add Formula Renault 1.6 Argentina's results into its tables? Because they would become too big?
  • What's the reason for not adding 2009's Formula Renault UK/BARC winter series to the article?

All these things are not meant to be offensive in any way - they are just suggestions. ;-) --78.42.28.216 (talk) 22:29, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't yet updated 2009 results page (arg 1.6 or BARC...) just because I haven't worked a lot on wikipedia the past weeks (month maybe...). But I have to, even big, complete the results. I will check all you notes soon, I also find mistakes when I update table but the sources are official, so a just copy them if I haven't more informations. The ffsa.org results and archives results are full of mistakes, don't trust them completely. - Rollof1 (talk) 09:43, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your answer. :-) --85.216.2.149 (talk) 18:41, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I - meanwhile registered on English Wikipedia, too - have added 2009's Formula Renault 2.0 UK Winter Cup now. If you like, you could control it, but everything should be alright anyway.

I'm looking forward to your edits regarding the 2010 seasons; if you need help, I could lend you a hand every now and then. :-) -- Lutz H (talk) 17:32, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you can! I don't contribute a lot now to formulas Renault and you're of course welcome to complete the 2010 page or specific 2010 series pages (I don't work on them because some people detach them from the main 2010 page and so work already on them. I prefer work on minor series). So feel free to create and modify tables as you did well with 2009 UK/BARC winter cup. - Rollof1 (talk) 09:01, 26 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

Formula Renault seasons articles[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you have created a string of Formula Renault seasons articles based on their years. I did some major editing on 2008 Formula Renault seasons(lead, grammar, note format, points table, etc.) and you might want to take a look at it. It's more wikified now and if possible, I would encourage you to edit the other Formula Renault seasons(2007, 2006, 2005, etc.) articles based on the changes I've made on the 2008 article. The article Samsung SGH-E950 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:Notability not demonstrated with multiple independent sources

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
