review of k-carbide[edit]

I am quite confused by the following sentence: 'This structure was, inter alia, elucidated with EDX-measurements on steel alloys containing κ-carbide precipitates but also on single crystals of manganese-κ-carbides with a molecular formula of Mn3.1Al0.9C and a lattice parameter of a=3.87Å. [2]'
EDX measurement can only see the element content on the sample surface but cant measure the crystal structure. And the reference you put there, they use XRD for their research. Maybe you can check it again carefully.
