Welcome to Wikipedia and congrats on submitting your first DYK nomination! I haven't yet begun reviewing, but at first glance it's a very impressive initial attempt at article creation. Thanks for your effort and enthusiasm. You'll do well here. I will take a liberty in pointing you towards Help:How to write the perfect "Did you know" hook. I think your first hook, while apparently accurate and well-cited, is a bit on the "obvious" side. Look at the hooks you see on the main page. Think about the weirdest, most compelling things you found in your article research. Find a way to ask those questions in a sly, provocative manner. The essay I've linked will help guide you. Reviewers don't often approach a nominator like this, but as an occasional new page creator myself I wanted to express my delight that I get to review your first work. Hello, thank you very much for reviewing my submission. Thank you especailly for pointing out the plagarism in the article. The features section was there when I first got the article as a stub and I didn't think to check if there were copyright issues but I will remove it right away. Do you know how I might be able to change the hook for my article submission? Or is it too late now? Thank you again Rmeares01 (talk) 04:00, 30 May 2021 (UTC)

I don't know your location (and I'm not asking to know), but this would be 8pm EDT in New York or 5am IST in most of India or 10am AEST in Canberra. Congrats. On 6 June 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Eastern Desert, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that ancient Egyptians carried boats in pieces across the Eastern Desert, reassembling them when they reached the Red Sea to embark on trading expeditions? You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Eastern Desert), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page.
