Brian Moore

I think very little of the text is actually my work and I definitely didn't set up that page. Without question Brian Moore (rugby footballer) should be the correct page name though looking at the article it seems to be a cut and paste job and probably a copyright violation. I think the best thing to do is to edit the newer page thoroughly and then merge in the stuff from the older page with the incorrect name.GordyB 12:19, 5 October 2005 (UTC)

More coherent version : I was unaware that there were two articles and hence seem to have misunderstood your message. I moved Brian Moore (athlete) to Brian Moore (rugby player) removed the copyvio data and then discovered the Brian Moore (rugby footballer) article. I've now taken most of the data from Brian Moore (rugby footballer) and moved it to Brian Moore (rugby player). The disambiguation link has been changed as have a couple of other links, when I get a chance I'll put the other article up for deletion.GordyB 14:27, 5 October 2005 (UTC)

Excellent

Just wanted to thank you for the excellent contributions to the Welsh princes' articles you've made today. I think one of the greatest things about Wikipedia is that it exposes you to topics you never would've encountered, and in that process new interests are born. That's certainly true for me on this topic -- I'm an American, I have absolutely no connection to Wales, never even been to Europe. But the tale of the Welsh struggle for self-rule as told by these brothers is absolutely fascinating to me. Islands of Wales

North Stack is very definitely an island. South Stack might be more of a query because of the connecting bridge to the Lighthouse but there is plenty of sea between Ynys Gybi and North Stack! Incidentally, if you have library access, any additions you could make to Bangor Cathedral would be much appreciated.

On my ArbCom voting page, you stated you had "big problems with the way [I] handled the RfC". Please elaborate on what those big problems were. I filed a response in a timely manner and refrained from sniping at other people's responses; this is what I thought was expected of people to do when they are the subject of an RfC. What about that statement ("I do hold those whose purpose for being on Wikipedia is other than to write an encyclopedia with contempt. May I ask why? I've found that people who are on Wikipedia for reasons other than to write an encyclopedia invariably get in the way of doing just that, either actively (such as through vandalism) or passively (by consuming resources). Why should I not have contempt for those who are interfering with our primary goal? Why should I not resist efforts to turn Wikipedia into Just Another Web Community? Battle of Bedriacum

Re:Hi! How much stuff do you have? It would have to be quite a bit to justify splitting the article. The two battles of Bedriacum took place within only a few months of one another, and we know little about them apart from the dates, place, combatants and who won (Romans really did not seem to like to write too much about battles amongst them for the purple). By contrast, over a year separates the two Bull Runs, and we have a lot more info on both (Strengths, casualties, manuevers, unit commanders etc.) As it now stands, the two Bedriacums have barely enough between them to constitute a large stub. Battle of Caer Caradoc

I've been recently reading Graham Webster and he seems to indicate that the defeat of Caratacus at the Battle of Caer Caradoc was not as clear as has been made out - either by the Roman historians or by the article itself, indicating that it is probable that a large number of defenders escaped.L Hamm 00:27, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Bangor

Hi from one Bangor person to another Bangor person. I know that Bangor, Northern Ireland was founded in 555 AD and it comes from Gaelic meaning "The pointed hills" (although I've heard also that it might mean "Valley of the angels" or "Angels' Choir" or something). Can you tell me about Bangor, Wales - is the name an Anglicisation? Do you know the original Welsh if it is? Translations

Hello Rhon! I am learning Welsh however do not yet possess the skills to translate some articals into Welsh, and was wondering if you might be able to for me. I have contributed much to several different articals that I wish to see in Welsh, they include Melisende of Jerusalem, Sibylla of Jerusalem, really that king of the Royal House of Jerusalem. One more question, is there a way to translate the French name Melisende into Welsh? If you are interested in this that would be very pleasing indeed. But if you are too busy no worries. Kingdom of Gwynedd

Hello again, another question. On the Kingdom of Gwynedd page, list of Gwynedd rulers, I wish to distingish the direct decendents froom Rhdori Mawr from any "usurpers" who rulled or annexed Gwynedd for only their own personal lifetime. I am thinking that it would be too cumbersom to list next to their name, but also too confusing to create a seperate list. Ill look it over but please review ok? Thanx!
