Help request[edit]

I work for the communications office of the University Pontificia Università Lateranense, they've asked me to change the logo and generally clean the page up. For example (in italian) it says in the stats box there are 5 faculties, but in reality there are 4. How can I go about doing these two things? Thanks! Rebecski (talk) 14:02, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you are working for the subject of the article then editing the article itself is strongly discouraged as this is a clear conflict of interest (see WP:COI). The best way would be to post a request at Talk:Pontifical Lateran University asking non-conflicted editors to make the changes for you. Blanking whole sections without an explaination (as you did) is generally not a great idea. Stalwart111 14:30, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Stalwart has it - post the information on the article's talk page, and an uninvolved editor will take care of it for you. As for the Italian article - Same thing, post the correct information on their talk page and someone will make the correction (Note that the English and Italian wikipedias are separate). Or post a link here with the source that confirms the correct figure and I'll make the edit - it's a simple enough change. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 16:45, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The PUL website seems to indicate that there are indeed four faculties - and two institutes as well. So would it be 4 or 6? UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 16:47, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
For sure, and there's quite a bit of original research (see WP:OR) and a few unsourced claims, so people will be keen for a clean up. That Italian name is a redirect - they go the same article - so even easier! Stalwart111 22:56, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! I was looking at w:it:Pontificia Università Lateranense. But that works too. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 14:19, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the prompt help! I understand how there can be a conflict of interest, and have read the wikipedia policy, but the school's wikipedia entry was incorrect. It seems to have been created by one of its affiliate schools (the theological institute of assisi) which is one of approximately 40 affiliated schools worldwide, however it seemed to be the only one listed. What I removed was the information (list of rectors, etc.) which pertained to the other school and only very remotely and indirectly related to the Lateran.

I'll work on cleaning things up and am entirely happy for help for objectivity in the matter. I am the english translator of the school's italian website (www.pul.it), so even though I am not the ideal candidate for "conflict of interest" motives, I am still well informed on the subject and would like to contribute to the veracity of the article.

Again, thanks! Rebecski (talk) 14:48, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Fr. Prof. Dr. Hans Zollner SJ has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no reliable references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. The reference you've added in order to remove the deletion request is BY Zollner, not ABOUT Zollner. It doesn't really meet the standards we need. I've also moved the article to his natural name Hans Zollner, without all the titles & post-nomials. Cabayi (talk) 11:10, 5 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
