CIPR GA Review[edit]

Ping! Corporate 17:33, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh yes. Sorry, I forgot it between all the work and projects I have ongoing. I will resume it tonight. My sincere apologies. — ΛΧΣ21 17:35, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem! I've got three GA nominations in the queue, so I've been circling back to Credit Suisse. Corporate 17:58, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Poke! :-D Corporate 18:07, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Time to continue :) — ΛΧΣ21 02:33, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you good sir! I am just asking on the Talk page of Credit Suisse if they feel it's ready for a GA review. Your comments in CIPR might make me give my other GA nominated articles a second look.
I am pushing very aggressively with my future COI works to go through the GA process. It's a tough sell to think of doing all that work to get a neutral article approved through corporate cycles, just to have another editor cull through it and tear it apart ;-) Corporate 18:39, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. --JDC808 06:33, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That sucks about your internet. Hope it gets fixed. Let me know when it does. --JDC808 08:13, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have internet again. I will take a look tonight. — ΛΧΣ21 02:03, 1 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DYK expansion criterion[edit]

Hi, for future reference when you're doing DYK reviews, I just wanted to point out that "The length of both the old and new versions of the article is calculated based on prose character count, not word count." MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 08:51, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I used the DYK script to determine the number of characters expanded. Still, it was expanded fivefold, even when the script showed otherwise. Is there an issue with it? I explained on the DYK page that it was effectivelly expanded. — ΛΧΣ21 15:32, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I see the issue. I stated that more words were needed, when the count is done by characters, not by words. Got it. Thanks. — ΛΧΣ21 15:36, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Discography pages[edit]

In discography pages, do you say the entry into the charts or it's peak position?--Lucky102 (talk) 17:26, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The peak position is the one used at discography pages. If you need anything else, feel free to ask :) — ΛΧΣ21 17:37, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Also, are you still adopting a user? I was asking about the discography because on Emeli Sande's discography's page, Beneath Your Beautiful was 49 on it, but it's now 15, but not up there, so I should change it, right?--Lucky102 (talk) 20:34, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I am still adopting :) And yes, you can update the discography with the highest position with the new position :) — ΛΧΣ21 20:38, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Would you adopt me, since you've been so helpful.--Lucky102 (talk) 20:50, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It'll be a pleasure :) Now you're officially my adoptee :) I see that you like to work on several topics like The Simpsons and Eurovision, so I'd go with my custom question: Where do you wanna start? — ΛΧΣ21 21:03, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, helping me with discography pages please, a bit more. Let me explain, for the Emeli Sande discography page, I'm trying to add Slovakia in, but it keeps going wrong.--Lucky102 (talk) 21:10, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Fair enough. Where do you want to add Slovakia? Albums or singles? Regardless, the way to add a new country is this: Change "! scope="col" colspan="10"| Peak chart positions" from "10" to "11". Then, add a new line with this information: "! scope="col" style="width:3em;font-size:90%;"| [[Slovakia Albums Chart|SLO]]<br><ref name=slo>Put the reference here</ref>" along witht he other similar lines. Then, on each album's or single's entry, add this "|| <position> " besides the rest of the chart peaks. If you can't I may do it for you and show you the diff. — ΛΧΣ21 21:16, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I want to add to one, not make a new one, sorry. It was the as featured artist section. Here's the link to the page, Emeli Sande discography--Lucky102 (talk) 21:25, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am a bit confused. Do you want to add a new column for Slovakia along with chart positions? or something else? — ΛΧΣ21 21:28, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I want to add Slovakia into that area.--Lucky102 (talk) 21:35, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will add it for you and whow you the diff. Can you please give me the source where the chart positions are? :) — ΛΧΣ21 21:37, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, here's the song in the chart anyway, also, this is the only song on the Slovakian songs for Emeli Sande being ft. Oh, it's not working, when it is, I'll get it.--Lucky102 (talk) 21:43, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Working now, http://www.ifpicr.cz/hitparadask/index.php?a=titul&hitparada=18&titul=147112&sec=702059b85c44d152d2f2b4c7fd196901 Also, the chart is different.--Lucky102 (talk) 21:44, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Are you sure the link is from Slovakia? It seems to be a chart from the Czech Republic... — ΛΧΣ21 21:49, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Woops, sorry, anyway I fixed Beneath your beautiful page.--Lucky102 (talk) 21:54, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe don't worry. I have made the addition of Czech Republic to the discography page: Here is the diff I promised: [1]ΛΧΣ21 21:56, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, that is a bit confusing, but I'll learn.--Lucky102 (talk) 22:11, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Wikicode is a bit confusing. Practice and error is the best way to learn. You can create a sandbox and start playing with the codes if you wish. Some tips: "{|" --> This starts a table and "|}" --> This closes a table. If you add "|-", it finishes the row and starts a new one. Each time you add a "|" as the beginning of a line, you are adding a new division to the row. I can set up a guide page for you if you want. — ΛΧΣ21 22:21, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you!--Lucky102 (talk) 08:02, 23 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review. The section you wanted is the "Association football people" subsection of Wikipedia:Good articles/Sports and recreation. I have listed the article there. Oldelpaso (talk) 17:48, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay :) Thanks for the advice. Although, the review has been removed as a "drive-by" review, and I have been called to have a conflict of interest with the article, which is completely odd and ridiculous =/. Dispute resolution volunteer survey[edit]

Dispute Resolution – Volunteer Survey Invite

Hello Razr Nation/2012. To follow up on the first survey in April, I am conducting a second survey to learn more about dispute resolution volunteers - their motivations for resolving disputes, the experiences they've had, and their ideas for the future. I would appreciate your thoughts. I hope that with the results of this survey, we will learn how to increase the amount of active, engaged volunteers, and further improve dispute resolution processes. The survey takes around five to ten minutes, and the information you provide will not be shared with third parties other than to assist in analyzing the results of the survey. No personally identifiable information will be released.

Please click HERE to participate.
Many thanks in advance for your comments and thoughts.

You are receiving this invitation because you have either listed yourself as a volunteer at a dispute resolution forum, or are a member of a dispute resolution committee. For more information, please see the page that describes my fellowship work which can be found here. Szhang (WMF) (talk) 02:46, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish language help[edit]

Hi Hahc, Mark Arsten recommended you as someone who might be able to help me out. I'm trying to port an article over from Spanish wiki, and created this Yeguada Militar de Jerez de la Frontera but I don't speak or read Spanish, their sources as es.wiki appear minimal, but I cannot read them, Google translate is not real helpful, but English language sources I can find tend to be mostly mediocre or promotional in nature. The geographic location stuff is one of the things that is particularly tripping me up. The article name might even be to just one location of the Yeguada Militar, and my intent is to write about the overall program and all locations. Other than the headquarters being somewhere in Andalusia, the details are confusing me all to pieces. This was kind of a quick create in response to a rabid redlink remover, so I had no time to properly incubate it on my talk page. But if I can get it up to speed for DYK in five days, I'd like to… but not a crisis if I can't. If you are curious, similar articles I've worked on are Piber Federal Stud or Marbach stud. I'm shooting for at least C-class quality for now, with a possibility of B-class when I have more time. Any help you can offer would be much appreciated. Montanabw(talk) 21:38, 26 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be very gad to hep you, but right now I don't have internet acess due to an internet failure at home. I may help you after the service is restored. I may take a look at the article ass soon as possible. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 17:32, 28 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. As you can. I've already popped it up for DYK due to the 5-day limit, but any help, any time, will be much appreciated. Montanabw(talk) 00:54, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like the service is restored. I may help you now, as I have access again. I will do some other duties I have before, and then I will go into your article :) — ΛΧΣ21 20:01, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Lists[edit]

I admit that it's tempting, and I'd love to give you a hand; but I don't have time. I just came back from a long Wikipedia hiatus to finish the "Looking Glass Studios video games" Good Topic that I've dreamed of creating for the last several years. Limited spare time means I can't get distracted by other projects, no matter how enticing, if I want to get that topic finished. Tomb Raider 1 and Crystal Dynamics are really interesting subjects, so maybe you can find someone else who wants to help. I wish it could be me, but it just isn't in the cards. Sorry. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 02:36, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I can help you if you want. It'll be amazing to give you a hand on Looking Glass Studios' topic. I love that studio and their games :) — ΛΧΣ21 02:50, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning[edit]

This is considered to be a NAC, and is against your restrictions that you are fully aware of. (✉→BWilkins←✎) 21:08, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is considered too? Oh, sorry. Didn't realize. Thanks. — ΛΧΣ21 21:08, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Seriously? Now I think you're just screwing around. Anything you close - RFC's, RM's, AFD's, RFA's ... you know that's part of your restriction, and you cannot play otherwise. You're well past the envelope of the restrictions (✉→BWilkins←✎) 21:17, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Concurring with Bwilkins. The next NAC will incur a block. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 21:22, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Understood. There is no need to be sarcastic with me; I did not close the RFA with the solely purpose to breach my self-imposed restriction. I did it as a favour to LuK3, although that ended up inside that restriction too, which I did not realize until now. Anyways, I guess I will end up retiring before being blocked. Wikipedia has suddenly become a harsh place for me. — ΛΧΣ21 22:21, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't blame Wikipedia for your creation of what you consider "harsh". People these days apparently don't know how to accept responsibility for their actions...blame it on everyone else (✉→BWilkins←✎) 22:25, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I accept the responsibilities of my actions, and I have never done the opposite. I don't blame Wikipedia, because the issue is not the website. Also, and just to clarify, my "harsh" comment is not directed towards you, regardless of the iteractions we've had in the past. I have managed to stay away from NACs without issue all this time, and will do with no issue in the future, because that's what my restriction says. At first, I believed this was AFD-only, but now I have fully understood that it covers any discussion outside my talk page [another big trick, but I'm smart enough not to fall into, I have learned from past experiences]. However, I am more devoted to content contributions, which is why this encyclopedia was built, anyways. — ΛΧΣ21 22:31, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to call "BS" again. From the very first time the restriction was imposed, and as per WP:RESTRICT you know any forum was the wording. It was even reiterated to you in your recent attempt to get it rescinded. In other words, you knew 3 weeks ago, and you were reminded just the other day. You cannot in good conscience claim that you thought it was "AFD-only" (✉→BWilkins←✎) 22:34, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I never read WP:RESTRICT, but that's my fault. I should have. Actually, I don't know why I thought it was AFD-only [maybe because the issue that was raised at ANI was only related to AFD] but I won't beat a dead horse. I appreciate you came here today and explained this again to me. Thank you. — ΛΧΣ21 22:40, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just to repeat the advice that you've been given above, as I appreciate your contributions and enthusiasm, and I don't want to see you getting into disputes or risking a block. For the next several months, please don't close any AfDs. Don't close any MfDs. Don't close any RfAs. Don't close any RMs. Don't close any RfCs. Don't even close the door behind you when you leave the room. If you're not sure whether you can do something, or whether you should do something, just don't do it.
I know this all sounds very restrictive and mean-spirited, but what you should do instead of closing things is just editing. I'm sure you can find plenty of useful contributions to make without doing the things you've been asked not to do. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 22:46, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Newyorkbrad. Just to save my back, I won't close anything ever again. I'm pretty happy writing content and I guess I can live without closing anything, just like I used to do before I knew that I could close anything. We have enough administrators to close those things ;) — ΛΧΣ21 22:50, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would like the diff of where Hahc was made aware that the restriction calls for NAC on ANY Wikipedia forum. I would also like a diff to the first, second and third warnings he received before this "final warning". Statυs (talk) 23:00, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh wait, I just realized something... WP:RESTRICT says that Hahc is "Restricted from making any non-admin closure on any forum of English Wikipedia". He made a "non-crat closure", not a "non-admin closure", so therefore you have no case to be giving Hahc a "last warning" or threatening him with a block. I'll be awaiting an apology, of course. Your lack of good faith to Hahc is worrisome. No wonder Wikipedia is going down the drain. Statυs (talk) 23:21, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And your own words at the ANI: "Based on community consensus to this point, and agreement by the editor in question, User:Hahc21 is indefinitely restricted from making non-admin closures on any forum of Wikipedia." Statυs (talk) 23:25, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Status, I can appreciate your point as a technicality, but it reakkt wouldn't be in Hahc21's or anyone else's best interests for him to try to skirt the edges of the restrictions with that type of argument. Newyorkbrad (talk) 23:48, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't a technicality, though. RFA are closed by crats, not admins. Hahc closed a (withdrawn) RFA. His restriction clearly states that he is only restricted from making any non-admin closures. It makes no mention of anything else. The issue for his closure was over AFDs, and according to the conversation, his lack of knowledge when it comes to AFDs. That does not transfer over to RFC, RFA, etc. Especially without any word to it. Pretend we're on an episode of Judge Judy. Hahc signed a contract with Bwilkins to not do any non-admin closures. Bwilkins sues Hahc because he made a non-crat closure. He never signed a contract that made mention of anything about non-crat closured, therefore, Hahc wins the case. Statυs (talk) 00:02, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is a silly argument, but when you engage in this type of reasoning, you need to think about the purpose of a given rule or restriction, not just the words of the restriction itself. When it was decided that Hahc21 should not (yet) engage in non-admin closures, this was because the people who made the decision decided that Hahc21 hasn't (yet) developed the skills associated with substituting for an administrator. It follows from that (we lawyers would say a fortiori) that he isn't yet trusted to perform a task associated with the bureaucrats, who enjoy a higher level of demonstrated community trust than an administrator. Newyorkbrad (talk) 00:41, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
As I used in an example above, there can't be implications or assumption in a written contract, or in this case, a restriction. You can't enforce a user from editing against a restriction when the restriction's exact words do not match up with the edit. I understand what you are saying, and it's true, but if the words don't line up, then it can't be enforced. That, again, is an assumption. A restriction is a specific thing. You can't say that it was implied that "non-admin closure" also means "non-crat closure". Also, since when do only admins close RFC? Unless I'm thinking of something other than requests for comments on the talk page of an article? Statυs (talk) 00:48, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Status, this is BS and Wikilawyering. A restriction that covers admin areas obviously includes any area of a higher authority above that. A lot of people, especially over-enthusiastic younger and/or new users, think it's cool to mess with admin stuff and believe it will put them in good stead for an eventual RfA. In reality, the absolute opposite is what actually happens. Perhaps you can help distribute this advice.Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 01:06, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Please, can we stop this? U.u I am no young user, not over-enthusiastic, and not pursuing RFA. Although, for newbies, youngs and over-enthusiastics, that's a good advice. This discussion is running pointless to a degree where I don't know exactly what is being discussed at now. The clarification about the limits of my pseudo-ban have been pointed out. End of story. [Sorry. I am a bit stressed because I can't calmly edit my current project seeing the orange banner each 5 minutes XD] — ΛΧΣ21 01:13, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Bullshit? No. Wikilawyering? Sure, but that's just an essay. If you see Bwilkins' comment above, he states that Hahc is restricted from closing "RFC's, RM's, AFD's, RFA's..." Maybe you can tell me, since when do admins only close requests for comment? There is no obviously in a restriction. Again, the restriction specifically states "non-admin closures", it doesn't say "closures of any kind". You shouldn't, and don't, have to read in between the lines. It should be clear as day. Especially in something so serious. Hahc was suggested to be doing NACs, to look better at an RFA. At his first RFA I believe, even. Statυs (talk) 01:15, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Status, you are reading between the lines - I didn't suggest that you were young or inexperienced. But FWIW, RfA candidates who mess with NAC, especially at PERM and AfD generally don't get my vote. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:21, 5 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good evening, I'd like to point your attention to the note I have left on Dom497's talk page in relation to the newsletter delivery for WP Good Articles. Please feel free to contribute your thoughts. Sincerely, — JamesR (talk) 11:41, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, yes. Well, since Dom is a bit busy in real life, I will answer this for you, and I believe he will agree: I'd like the bot to record the pages it has difficulty with, so that we can verify those pages and remove them from the newsletter/notify the users. Also, thanks for the response regarding the delivery. I saw that the bot sent many newsletters to a single page on December 1 and I thought you were fixing this. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 14:02, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Lo Nuestro Nominations announced[edit]

Arjona has three nominations. After that, will be the Billboard Latin Music awards. When that's over, I won't have any hesitation for Independiente to be FAC. I know, that the album has released (and hopefully last) single since you have a since sandbox for it. This is for you. I hope that helped. Erick (talk) 19:55, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yay. More and more awards :D I'm sad to hear that BB.biz is not available anymore :( OMG IT CHARTED! Now I can complete the article. Thanks Erick! — ΛΧΣ21 19:59, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it's frustrating to say the least. That means the Mexican Airplay will have to be manually archived...again. Speaking of Billboard, they should be publishing their year-end charts sometime this month so keep an eye out for that. One other awards show I left out was the Premios Oye!. Arjona hasn't gotten a nomination from them, but who knows? He might in the 2013 awards. Erick (talk) 20:17, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Look Harold, a Grammy nomination for Independiente. EDIT: Oh, it seems you already know. My bad. :P Erick (talk) 20:10, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! I just archived it :D I'm happy. I have to add it to the article, as well as those from Lo Nuestro... I hope he wins this time at Grammys. Hasn't done so since 2005's Adentro. — ΛΧΣ21 20:12, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I have updated both the award's list and the album article :D — ΛΧΣ21 20:20, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nice! Like I said, after the Billboard Latin Music Awards (assuming he gets any nominations which I'm sure he will), I don't think there will be any problems with the FAC as far as content goes. Erick (talk) 20:30, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Good, although the last FAC was sinked mostly because some nit-picky prose issues that I never fully understood :/ — ΛΧΣ21 20:32, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

PERM[edit]

Hi. I'm just letting you know that I generally do not take NAO into consideration when closing requests for permissions. It is my belief that clerking is unnecessary because the admins need to duplicate the research anyway. What other admins do is up to them. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:57, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I know you don't, and I'm not clerking actually, I'm just trying to give a hand so that I can better understand how the permissions are given, which are the requisites to receive the rights, and expand my knowledge about perm. I have seen all the lengthy discussions about clerking at PERM in the past... And I understand that it is duplicating the research... — ΛΧΣ21 03:02, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for December 9[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of games developed by Crystal Dynamics, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page N-Gage (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Re:Featured editorial[edit]

I'm potentially interested. What kind of thing did you imagine me writing about? J Milburn (talk) 00:29, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can write about anything you want to. The only restriction is [obviously] that it has to be related to GAN. It can be about recent events, analysis about the current drive, etc. It can be of any lenght and can be written using whichever writing method you prefer [narrative, essay...]. I'd be glad if you accept :) — ΛΧΣ21 00:54, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What date does it need to be written by? J Milburn (talk) 09:22, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It needs to be ready before the next newsletter is sent, which is on January 3, 2013. — ΛΧΣ21 15:02, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You could use some cheering up for the holidays! So....here's a gift[edit]

This gift was only supposed to go out to people I knew, but I felt pretty bad about the whole misunderstanding between you and some other user, so I though you could use this, as a gift from me. (feel free to copy)

Jenni Rivera[edit]

It's very tragic to hear what just happened to her. A plane crash, especially without warning, is one of the worst ways to die. I can't believe it either, especially since she was urged to stay overnight and she refused. I am very shocked right now. Erick (talk) 23:56, 9 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am very shocked and sad too. What hurts me the most is that I met her two years ago, and I discovered that although I didn't listen to her music, I was captivated by her as a person. She was an amazing person. — ΛΧΣ21 00:04, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
My God, you are lucky to meet someone like that. I mean, yeah, I don't like banda music, but man. :( What's also crazy is she was with her brother on the night just before she boarded the plane. Erick (talk) 00:12, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Lucky, yes. I have met a considerable list of famous people :) Well, her brother died on the crash too. I didn't know him, actually. He served as her public relations manager or something like that... — ΛΧΣ21 00:16, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I meant, Lupillo Rivera, but wow. Not to mention that Rivera received some nominations from Lo Nuestro a few days earlier. I'm aviophobic btw. EDIT: Oh yeah, and that dictator has cancer again. Erick (talk) 00:20, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, her other brother. Well, she was nominated for the Grammy's too with her latest album, Joyas Prestadas (which includes a song from Arjona). And yes, new elections are considered a possibility now. He named Nicolás Maduro as his successor in case those elections are eventually held [which would happen if he dies or something, which is very likely given the context of his cancer]. Of course, our candidate is Radoski. This just makes me even more sad. My country is going to ashes... — ΛΧΣ21 00:27, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am so sorry to hear that. Can't believe how crazy it's going right now and how worse it's going to be with all the fighting. :( Erick (talk) 00:57, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) :We could enter a civil war even, if things don't go better. I hope we can solve this like normal people instead of fighting and swearing at each other... — ΛΧΣ21 01:23, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You know what? In her honor, I thought it might be a good idea to make a DYK on her latest album as a tribute. I've started it on my sandbox. I thought it'd be a nice thing to do. :') Erick (talk) 01:21, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! Let's develop it. I will work on her page to GA. I have a force inside of me that tells me I need to do it in her honor too. — ΛΧΣ21 01:23, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. I've started the sandbox here. I'd like to ask Jaespinoza (Javier) as well, but I saw his Facebook status and it seems he's taking it pretty hard. I don't know if it's appropriate to ask away. Erick (talk) 01:28, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. I rook it hard all day. I am relaxed now, although sad. By the way, Jovas Prestadas are two albums, not one. I saw on your sandbox that you have developed only the banda edition. We need to add the pop one too. — ΛΧΣ21 01:31, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I know, but I not sure if two separate articles are necessary though since they have the same track listing and little differences between the two besides the genre. I think all the information can fit in one article, but I have no objections either for making two articles.
OOOH. I was confused by the tracklisting you had on the sandbox lol. Yes, I've verified and they are the same songs. A single article would be enough :) — ΛΧΣ21 01:40, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I asked Javier and he's on board. :) I'm asking Basilisk4u as well for help because she's good with biography articles. Also I've set up the Joyas Prestadas layout so I'm ready to work on this with you. :) I'm be heading to college now and won't be back for at least an hour or so. Erick (talk) 18:21, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. We'll work on it when you come back. I took a look at the Spanish Wikipedia's version of Rivera's article and it's full of original reseearch and useless information, so I guess I'd have to start it from scratch as I did with Ricardo Arjona. It'll take some time, mostly because I'm not knowledgeable of her as I wm about Arjona's career... — ΛΧΣ21 18:41, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm back! College semester is over for me now. Erick (talk) 21:56, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yay. My semester (trimester, to be accurate) was over several weeks ago. So, do we start development of her article? I recently finished List of Crystal Dynamics video games [which is now at DYK and FLC] and have nothing else on my schedule... — ΛΧΣ21 21:59, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see why not. I got the basic layout done. I opened up the talk page on my sandbox. Erick (talk) 22:03, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jenni Rivera image[edit]

Hi-- the image you added to Wikimedia Commons of Jenni Rivera and others on a jet appears to be a copyright violation. Do you own that picture or have the permission of the original author to upload it? If not, it may be a copyright violation. I recommend reviewing the information on how to mark that image, which is not in the public domain, as currently marked. We may be able to make a case for fair use, but that needs to happen over there. Thanks. Jokestress (talk) 12:44, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well. Since the author of the image died on the crash, my guess is that the image cannot be copyrighted. Also, because it is of great historical importance (is the last picture taken before her death), it cannot be replaced with a free image for obvious reasons. Which is the correct license? I am sure that the original author would have given permission to use the image. — ΛΧΣ21 17:30, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I have uploaded the image under fair use on en-wiki. It can now be deleted from Commons. — ΛΧΣ21 17:45, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That is not a sanctioned reason we accept ("I am sure that the original author would have given permission"). The image is owned by the photographer's heirs, who control the rights to the image. Someone else nominated it for deletion. Please make your case there. Thanks. Jokestress (talk) 20:49, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know. I have left a comment on the deletion entry of the file. Thanks for the hads up. — ΛΧΣ21 20:52, 10 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The user said that American Gods is using one episode of Cheers as a prominent tool for the main story. What do you think? --George Ho (talk) 05:30, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have left a somewhat lenghty answer to him on the article's talk page. I'd be doing a search by myself to see what I can find. — ΛΧΣ21 05:38, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I did a little research on Google Books and found the quotation he posted: [2]. The book also talks about the episode further on the text, several pages after. Is this enough to be mentioned? We can add it on the Impact section, or something. — ΛΧΣ21 05:46, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Google Books does not display other relevant pages related to Cheers. Nevertheless, pages and quotes or scans would be nice. We can retrieve page scans by email, but I haven't requested it yet. --George Ho (talk) 05:49, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've already requested it. --George Ho (talk) 05:52, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and bought the ebook version of the novel. The issue I have now is that this version I got has the pages in a different order =/ Although, I will make the verification tomorrow. I'm from my laptop now andI left the copy of the book onmy desktop. — ΛΧΣ21 06:06, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I added back the novel with inline citation. --George Ho (talk) 02:11, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As for the article itself, I've copyedited. I wanted to add a non-free image, but it might fail WP:NFCC#8 because of camera editing and angles during filming. --George Ho (talk) 04:58, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Can I see the image? You can put the link here or send it to my email. Then, I can help you verify if it fails WP:NFCC#8. — ΛΧΣ21 05:00, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Email sent. --George Ho (talk) 05:35, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I have seen the images. I guess that they serve the same purpose as music video screenshots do to music articles. I will do a little documentation before giving you a clear answer. I'll be back to you when finished. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 05:41, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Still analyzing mere images? --George Ho (talk) 05:47, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh sorry for the delay, I was involved in some kind of discussion at the ArbCom Elections talk page. I guess that you can upload one of them, yes. In my opinion, they meet NFCC#8. — ΛΧΣ21 14:34, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've uploaded the "hug" photo (File:Coachs Daughter.jpg). That's the only thing in mind. Is audio all right as well? If so, how many seconds? --George Ho (talk) 22:28, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Album chart template[edit]

Hello, Hey man, hows it going? Could you please check Template_talk:Albumchart#Multi_reference_support for me? There appears to be an issue with {{Albumchart}} and the multiple reference use for the Scottish Album chart. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 22:00, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am still trying to fix that. I don't know why that happens. I will do another try tonite. — ΛΧΣ21 22:11, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Original Barnstar
Nice work on those ArbCom tables! AutomaticStrikeout (TC) 21:33, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Aw thanks. I was just trying to be helpful ΛΧΣ21 21:44, 12 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome. Based on your post on Theopolisme's talk, I assume you are still interested in co-noming me when the time comes? AutomaticStrikeout (TC) 17:00, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I am. Theo is an amazing user and he'll be a good adming too. Just let me know when he accepts :) — ΛΧΣ21 23:19, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If he lets me know, I will. Thanks, AutomaticStrikeout (TC) 01:52, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This image is nominated for deletion. You said that this still image helps readers understand. Anyway, maybe you can go to WP:FFD and comment there. --George Ho (talk) 09:39, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

What happened is that you uploaded one in which the characters' faces are invisible. Let me try to fix that. — ΛΧΣ21 13:28, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I see that you already fix that. I will handle the FFD, I guess. — ΛΧΣ21 13:31, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No need to apologize. At least it was a test. I long knew that ANY image is too redundant. I already requested good-faith deletion on my behalf, so no worries. As for free image, a free image of the female portrayer is already used in the article. What about a non-free audio or video? --George Ho (talk) 16:20, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I guess that it's best to first ask Future Perfect or any other admin highly knowledgeable about non-free content before uploading a video or audio, as they both may fail the #8 too. Then, we avoid having to face more deletions. — ΛΧΣ21 16:22, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty tables[edit]

Was looking at this image and I noticed that the support % for Jclemens last year was wrong. If he had 46%, he wouldn't have been elected ;) WormTT(talk) 15:57, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh hehe well it is a statistic data from the guides only. The complete set of data is here: User:Hahc21/ACE#ACE_2011. And well, sometimes community switches the numbers ;) — ΛΧΣ21 15:59, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ohhhh it's the % for the guides! I thought it was % of votes, entered in correctly. My mistake :) WormTT(talk) 16:01, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe don't worry. I should have stated that on that images, which I guess I didn't. If my statistics are correct, you will be elected this year. Good luck! :D — ΛΧΣ21 16:04, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Tantalum pentaethoxide[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Tantalum pentaethoxide at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and some issues with it may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. It doesn't appear that you were notified when the length problem was first identified, so I'm noting that fact on the template. BlueMoonset (talk) 17:15, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Answered on the nomination page. — ΛΧΣ21 03:14, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are you planning to ask Rifleman? I'm willing to wait for a response if you are, but would like to know if you will be doing so, and within (say) the next 24 hours, since there's no reason i can see to delay. Otherwise, I think it makes sense to close the nomination. BlueMoonset (talk) 23:59, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I forgot about it. I asked Rifleman. Let me see how he answers and then I'll come back to you. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 00:20, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking care of this; sorry the news wasn't better. I've just put the big X on it to close it out. BlueMoonset (talk) 06:08, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, and happy editing :) — ΛΧΣ21 06:09, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a cause why Tantalum(V) ethoxide is used to make niobium compounds in a sol gel process? --Stone (talk) 19:40, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think that the right person to answer that is Rifleman 82. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 19:45, 17 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, I have addressed the length problem, I'll look at referencing and the hook later today. As an editor, though, I obviously won't be able to review. EdChem (talk) 00:21, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I have seen. Thank you! I have added your name to the DYK template so that you will receive credit for it too. I will see who can review it for us. Thanks again. — ΛΧΣ21 00:42, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I wasn't expecting credit, but I won't refuse it either! I'll have to look into the actual referencing on sol-gel and niobium, and on the refernce that supported the ALT2 hook. Rifleman was 100% correct in challenging the other hooks, and also that the compound is comparatively minor. Did you consider nominating niobium(V) ethoxide, it could possibly be combined into a two-article hook? EdChem (talk) 01:10, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to, but Niobium(V) ethoxide is far beyond "new enough", so we'd need to expand it to 5,500 characters to get it DYK-ready. I am not chemistry mas like Rifleman or you, so I'm unable to perform the expansion (hell, I don't even know if it's possible to expand it to that level). If it can be done, I'd be happy to include it as a two-article hook, or even nominate it separately if pentaethoxide gets reviewed sooner than expected. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 01:14, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I wasn't clear on my thinking... I meant if niobium(V) ethoxide were in a similar situation to tantalum(V) ethoxide - both were created as large enough articles, but then reduced as the content was problematic. Both are now over 1500 characters and cover very similar chemsitry. I doubt either could sustain 5000+ characters without massive padding and unencyclopaedic drivel (which obviously neither of us would want). EdChem (talk) 03:40, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well. If niobium(V) ethoxide were in a similar situation, it would work :) But, sadly, I guess it's impossible to add it to DYK, if that's what you mean =/ and Yeah, it's very difficult to make them 5,000 characters without encyclopedic drivel xD — ΛΧΣ21 03:45, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Jenni Rivera (cont.)[edit]

Hey. Basilisk4u has agreed to work on the biography as well. She's already expanded the early life section. Erick (talk) 22:57, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good. I'll join her later. I'm a bit discouraged to make content right now... — ΛΧΣ21 03:11, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh man, someone just created the article for Joyas Prestadas. Now we have like 5 days in order for it be a DYK. Erick (talk) 18:00, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry. We'll handle this today or tomorrow. Here we have elections again and I got pretty sick and I am undergoing medical attention. We'll have that DYK :) — ΛΧΣ21 20:04, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's crazy, because I came down with a bad case of flu yesterday. :( Anyways, I hope you feel better soon. Erick (talk) 23:12, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh I hope you feel better too :( I started adding bits of info to the Joyas Prestadas sandbox :) I will do this sporadically between today and tomorrow so that we can finish it soon. — ΛΧΣ21 23:13, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks man. :) Erick (talk) 23:18, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm getting errors from the albumchart template when trying to reuse a ref. :( Erick (talk) 19:04, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I am aware. I am still trying to fix that out :@ Makes me mad ¬¬ — ΛΧΣ21 21:27, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

New GAN[edit]

I've got another article ready for GAN if you can review it. Let me know and I'll list it. Actually, can you do a GAN and FAC at the same time? --JDC808 03:05, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. You can list it and I'll take it. Although, I will do a slow review because of some issues I have to take care of. And yes, I can do a GAN/FAC review altogether :) — ΛΧΣ21 03:10, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay and thanks, and I was actually referring to myself with the question since I still have God of War 1 up for FAC (3 supports and 1 oppose btw) and I wasn't sure if we (as in any user) can have a GAN and an FAC nomination at the same time. --JDC808 03:22, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) x4: Oh well, I did 3 GANs, 2 FACs, 4 FLCs and 2 FTs at the same time, so, yes. If you are organized, you can do everything ;) — ΛΧΣ21 03:35, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That's a lot lol I'll have the article up in just a bit. --JDC808 03:39, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. At your signal. — ΛΧΣ21 03:40, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It's up. It's God of War (video game collections). This is a different article. I made it to take some bulk off of the series page, and as the title suggests, it has the collections (which most was copy/pasted from the series page. --JDC808 03:52, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, then this review will be easy cake, as I have verified all but the lead before on my oyher review, didn't I? — ΛΧΣ21 04:00, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty much lol although there is info on the God of War Saga that wasn't there when you reviewed the series page. --JDC808 04:03, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

GAN Needs To Be Closed[edit]

Hi, I nominated Apocalypse (Six Flags America) a while back and Meetthefeebles (talk · contribs) began to review it. Between me and 2 other users, we fixed all the issues he pointed out but never passed or failed the article. The review has been going on for a month now so I think someone should close it. I left a message on his talk page a few days ago but he never responded.--Dom497 (talk) 21:59, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. The article seesm to be in very good shape and I trust your editorial skills, so I'm passing it. I don't know the exact section where to list it, so I'll let you handle it. I guess it's sports and recreation, but not quite sure. Regards. — ΛΧΣ21 22:03, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks!--Dom497 (talk) 22:07, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Table[edit]

Hi, nice table for the ArbCom results. Just a note to remember that dots, not commas, are used as decimal points. Cheers. Tony (talk) 00:32, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Oh, sorry. In the part of the world I am, we use it the other way :) I am changing it now, thanks for the heads up. — ΛΧΣ21 00:40, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
