Hello RayChrysler. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to RFP360, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

I'm not sure I posted my response in the right place, so wanted to provide it here just in case as posted in the RFP360 talk page: "This page is not unambiguously promotional, because I am not being compensated, nor do I expect to be compensated by any company for my contributions to Wikipedia. I am from Kansas City and closely follow software and technology news in my area. I had noticed many of the articles about Kansas City-based technology companies were out of date so I have been updating those. RFP360 has been in the news frequently over the last year, so I thought it would be a good candidate for my first Wikipedia article. I believe that the article is factual, properly cited and non-promotional, but I would greatly appreciate any suggestions to improve the page. I am admittedly very new to Wikipedia and have been doing my best to navigate and learn as I contribute. Thank you for your time and any advice you can offer as I would like to continue to contribute to the Wikipedia community. RayChrysler (talk) 16:33, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
