I'm working on a List article to get all the Fractional images onto WP. I thought you might like a preview from Commons...--Godot13 (talk) 05:55, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Looks awesome! Sorry not doing much with wiki at the moment, it's finals coming up. ;-) — raekyt 05:07, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Looks like you'll probably also have to deal with this one somehow Wikipedia:Featured_picture_candidates/File:US_Postal_Currency_5_cent_1862_1863.jpg, as a delist after the set is promoted, or something. — raekyt 12:58, 2 May 2013 (UTC)
Good luck on finals... What are you studying?--Godot13 (talk) 21:30, 3 May 2013 (UTC)
Graduating with my BS in biology next week.. I hope. lol :) — raekyt 01:39, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
LOL! Congrats in advance. That's a big deal...--Godot13 (talk) 01:50, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Your comment on Roza Bal

The more I think about it, the more I agree with your comment there that this may be an ANI matter, because it is just never going to end. If you want to start an ANI discussion on that, I will support it. I think it has enough time already to be considered disruptive, given that as another user said we have not seen "one item of useable information" from that user after all this. If we don't do it now, it will eat time again and have to do it anyway. Thanks. History2007 (talk) 15:55, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

I'll wait a few days see who else comments, I'd want a strong consensus that she's being disruptive and not helping improve the article before _I_ take it to ANI, you can speed that along if you feel the need to. :P — raekyt 16:24, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
That is the issue with the Groupon model. It only works after there are enough people who want to do it. But there are only 4 people who ever comment on that talk page. So I will wait half a day, then restart it as a question on ANI and see what happens. I have really had enough of the same cycle there. Just fed up with the same source free statements again and again. But may be AN may be the suitable venue. Why did you suggest ANI instead of AN? History2007 (talk) 16:49, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
ANI is generally where you take problematic users like that, AN is more general stuff I thought. :P — raekyt 17:27, 6 May 2013 (UTC)
Yes, ANI is as you said, so I will try that in a few hours. History2007 (talk) 17:32, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

Fixing Broken Link

Hi raeky. Sorry about that, should've spent a couple of minutes looking for a non-broken link. Am going to re-insert the Once Upon a Universe site though as I think it makes a worthwhile contribution to the understanding of the chronology of the universe. 94.171.241.81 (talk) 16:27, 6 May 2013 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 April newsletter

We are a week into Round 3, but it is off to a flying start, with Republic of Rose Island Sven Manguard (submissions) claiming for the high-importance Portal:Sports and Portal:Geography (which are the first portals ever awarded bonus points in the WikiCup) and Wales Cwmhiraeth (submissions) claiming for a did you know of sea, the highest scoring individual did you know article ever submitted for the WikiCup. Round 2 saw very impressive scores at close; first place New South Wales Casliber (submissions) and second place Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) both scored over 1000 points; a feat not seen in Round 2 since 2010. This, in part, has been made possible by the change in the bonus points rules, but is also testament to the quality of the competition this year. Pool C and Pool G were most competitive, with three quarters of participants making it to Round 3, while Pool D was the least, with only the top two scorers making it through. The lowest qualifying score was 123, significantly higher than last year's 65, 2011's 41 or even 2010's 100.

The next issue of The Signpost is due to include a brief update on the current WikiCup, comparing it to previous years' competitions. This may be of interest to current WikiCup followers, and may help bring some more new faces into the community. We would also like to note that this round includes an extra competitor to the 32 advertised, who has been added to a random pool. This extra inclusion seems to have been the fairest way to deal with a small mistake made before the beginning of this round, but should not affect the competition in a large way. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please feel free to contact one of the judges.

A rules clarification: content promoted between rounds can be claimed in the round after the break, but not the round before. The case in point is content promoted on 29/30 April, which may be claimed in this round. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Typo

I think you have a typo on your ANI post "not" for "now". And as an aside the original ban was "on all Roza Bal related article edits, broadly construed." and her own page is Roza Bal related, so is included in the ban, so should not have been edited. History2007 (talk) 21:16, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks, and yes it's a violation of her topic ban. — raekyt 21:18, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Prod

I'm sure you'll know the article I'm talking about. I really think, under the circumstances, it should be treated like an OTRS ticket request for deletion from the subject and sent to AFD. The subject won't be able to contribute to the AFD anyway. I know that drags it out for at least 7 days, but with fairly clear sources in the article, you might run into an admin with concerns. Thought I'd raise it with you here before touching the prod. Stalwart111 21:59, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

I'm trying to get her the best response she wants, a PROD has a guaranteed outcome. Provided the admin who does it ignores the past XFD for the non-article space version of it whos consensus was I think userfy. If it goes to AFD it may be kept, which is not what she wants. Just because she doesn't like the sourcing, which is from reliable sources, doesn't mean we delete her page as far as I'm aware. I really don't care what happens to it, delete the prod and take it to AFD if you think that's best, lol. Shes just getting on my nerves and is likely to get her topic ban extended and may be lucky to escape an indef, tbh. — raekyt 22:03, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
I strongly suspect she'll be indef'd and even I have now supported an extension of her TB after the article-space edit warring. The XFD resolved to keep it where it was so it could be fixed and moved to article space, which is what SilverSeren and I did thereafter. At the end of the day, she doesn't really have a choice - if she meets WP:GNG and we have an article about her, that's just the way it is. There's no "opt out" clause and many (many) AFDs have shown that. We gave her the option to begin with and she "opted in". But anyway, let's see how we go. If the prod is removed by someone else, I'll take it to AFD if you like. Best something like that comes from someone who created it probably. Stalwart111 22:18, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
I have no problem with doing an AFD... I just didn't immediately do it because she wanted it deleted and a PROD has that outcome without contesting it... Just not sure what a closing admin would think about the past XFD for the article, so... — raekyt 22:21, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Okay, well let's see how the prod goes and we can go from there. Stalwart111 22:25, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Actually I didn't notice these past AFD's for the previous version before she made the draft that got moved to article space, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suzanne Olsson in 2006 was Keep and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Suzanne Olsson (2nd nomination) in 2008 was Delete... adding those to the talk page records. This probably precludes it from being eligible for a PROD. — raekyt 22:40, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

And it looks like she may be a WP:SOCK... or have used multiple accounts see: User:Kashmir2. — raekyt 22:41, 9 May 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that username was raised previously as an issue and was resolved as being a partially shared account then superseded by her current username anyway, or something. I can't actually find where it was raised but I've seen it before so I'm sure it was at some stage. WP:COIN maybe? I'll try to find it. It's the reason I've never really bought into the whole "5 years" argument because the issue (and her at-least-partial involvement here) has been ongoing since 2005. But yeah, there were two previous AFDs of an article with far fewer sources. Stalwart111 23:17, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
