License tagging for Image:Linda bove.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Linda bove.jpg. Adding information while avoiding copyright violations

Hi! You're clearly as interested in Poplyfe as I am, since we both were working on the stub article at the same time. Unfortunately, the second edit you made -- adding the info from the NBC web site -- used the exact text from the AGT web site, which is a copyright violation (see WP:COPYVIO). For what it's worth, the other problem with copying chunks of material from a web site of that type is that Wikipedia is supposed to be written from a neutral point of view, while NBC's site is written to promote the group and the show. There likely are some details that would be helpful for you include from that site, such as when the group was founded, but only after putting them into your own words and sticking to factual details. I kept your edit that they placed fourth, though you'll want to go in and add a source as soon as there's a good reliable source to cite for that. Looking forward to seeing the article come together! That was a very respectful and polite way to phrase what u said, and i appreciate ur tact. i was simply trying to put out what info i caould, as i dont know much about them. but i was unaware of using that as a copyright, since i have seen it done before. hopefully someone who knows more than me will edit next. additionally, i put in that they came in 4th while watching the results show, and have no idea how to give credit for that. i will keep in mind what u said in the future. thanx! monica — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qtakhisis (talk • contribs) 04:18, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

re: a source for coming in 4th, yes, I realize that at the time there wasn't a source to consult ... truth be told, if I miss part of an AGT episode, I'll go to the article while viewing because I know that within seconds, someone will have updated the standings. :) It's how those updates always happen initially, people just typing what they watched with their own eyes seconds before. All I meant is that you could keep an eye out for a news story the next day (i.e., today) so there would be a citation for it as well. Lawikitejana (talk) 05:43, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
