Question[edit]

Professor, I was just wondering, since Youth unemployment has a Spring 2013 course banner on it, (since it was also worked on in the Spring), should I leave or remove that banner when I place the Fall 2013 banner?

Introduction[edit]

Hello Professor Vandegrift! As I mentioned in class I am a double major, English and Study of Culture and Society, so I'm very excited to be taking you class! I'm currently a senior at Drake, and I'm from St. Louis, MO. I'm excited to start working on the Wikipedia Project and I hope to learn a lot with the research and writing I will be doing in class.

Hi Kapplet - I'm glad to be working with you! Great start to your efforts! Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 03:29, 11 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction[edit]

Hello Professor Vandegrift! My name is Laura Schnabel. I am returning to Drake after four years off to finish my degree. That is the gist of my life right now! I hope to learn a lot in this class and look forward to getting to know everyone. Hope you have a great weekend! Lhegtvedt (talk) 22:32, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

I've added a list of possible sources on my user page. Let me know what you think! I hope I formatted them well enough, let me know if I should have done so in a different way.

Changing My Project[edit]

After doing some research this week, I was wondering if I could change my subject. I see on Wikipedia that there is a lot of information on illegal immigration, which itself is bias, but nothing on undocumented youth, especially the affects it has on the transition to adulthood. I think this would be an awesome topic to take on. Would you like me to write a new proposal for this idea and can I even change? (Sean.tyl.and (talk) 21:20, 2 October 2013 (UTC))[reply]

Article and Sources[edit]

I'm having some trouble posting my ref list, would you mind taking a look at it and letting me know what I'm doing wrong? I appreciate it! Also, I'm still in the process of translating the existing French page Religions et Croyances au Sénégal, I hope to be done soon. Have a nice weekend! Picture[edit]

I found a great picture on Wikimedia Commons but I'm having an issue finding a way to link it to my page. There seems to be something missing on the picture page to make the link but I could be missing something as well. We'll talk about it in class tonight. Thanks! Thanks for bringing your post to my attention. I look forward to seeing the picture on your page!Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 16

Suggested articles[edit]

Hi Professor Vandegrift. I've started a page for suggested article projects for the Global Youth Studies class in your user space. The page is User:Prof.Vandegrift/Global Youth Studies. It could use some more red links in the 'articles to create' section and I'm sure that some of the 'articles to improve' aren't quite within the scope of the class. Feel free to use this or not and change anything you see fit. Gobōnobō + c 03:30, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Late upload on first assignment[edit]

"The differences became even more pronounced when difficulty of career progression was taken into account; among males who had less than a high school diploma and experienced difficulties starting their careers" Fact from Shanahan reading.

Added that to article on Higher education.

I want to research the juvenile youths system.
