Shoulder Replacement Article

Hey Praxadicae, I really appreciate your time going through articles and making sure about the reliability of wikipedia articles, however, for shoulder replacement article, I made some edits related to post operative care which were reverted by you. When I dug down for the articles and looked at MERDS, I did find out why you reverted Fast track rehabilitation after reversed total shoulder arthroplasty: a protocol for an international multicentre prospective cohort study | BMJ Open and Primary care management of postoperative shoulder, hip, and knee arthroplasty | The BMJ this edit of mine as these are still trial programs. But for Shoulder Surgery Exercise Guide - OrthoInfo - AAOS this I think I still need more explanation as it is from American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. So far, according to my knowledge these are reliable sources which were well criticized before being published and I would count them in reliable sources and the information I edited as well. But if there is something you can enlighten on which I might be missing that would be great. Once again I really appreciate your time to look into articles. User:ValarianB edit warring and personal attacks

It appears that User:ValarianB has your protection and shares your POVon some points.[1][2] I also note that User:ValarianB talk page is full of edit warring. For the sake of calm, I would ask that you advise User:ValarianB to stop with the personal attacks and edit warring or he is going to get himself blocked. Thank you in advance User:Praxidicae

U.S. Civil Rights Trail

So, I'm now working on this page purely as a volunteer and plan to again add a full landmarks list, as discussed and compared with other comparable article, on the talk page. Given that many (too many to count) closely related articles contain nearly identical (often longer and more elaborate) lists, the U.S. Civil Rights Trail page clearly should include a list as well. I certainly hope you agree with me, and with the facts. Thanks. Danceswithedits (talk) 17:45, 12 October 2022 (UTC)

Question regarding deletion tagging

Hello Praxidicae, hope you are well and having a wonderful time with your new baby! I’m aware that you are not very active at the moment, so by the time you see this, the issue may have been resolved, but I am contacting you because I needed some advice from an experienced user, regarding deletion tagging. I came across a sandbox user page today of somebody promoting their YouTube channel, they have even provided a link, and I had a look and it literally only has 39 subscribers. I believe that this is spam. The user has now been blocked indefinitely, although the sandbox is still up on Wikipedia, and I believe it meets a deletion criteria. this is the page. Which would you suggest I used? CSD or to start a deletion discussion like Mfd for example? I had a read through Wikipedia essays on that although before I make any decisions, I just wanted to check what an experienced editor would think, as I’m still fairly new to doing maintenance/tasks on Wikipedia and just don’t want to dive in to the deep end and mess up. If you have any tips, that would be great. Thanks! Blanchey (talk) 15:11, 12 November 2022 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) For pages on the user namespace like that one, MfD would be the usual venue for deletion unless it meets one of the CSD criteria. It's worth noting that the CSD criteria are defined quite narrowly and thus if you're unsure if a page meets a CSD criteria, it probably doesn't. It's useful to keep in mind that speedy deletion is intended as a time-saver for the community so we don't have to repeatedly discuss uncontroversial deletion candidates. However, since the community (generally) lacks oversight into speedy deletions, the community prefers to keep the speedy deletion criteria narrowly-defined such that even slightly controversial deletions get more eyes.
Since the account has been promoblocked already you can probably G11 it, but it's probably close enough to the line that not every admin will accept that as a G11 candidate. If an admin disagrees with your CSD nomination, they'll just untag it and probably leave you a talk page message explaining why they don't think it meets the criteria. stwalkerster (talk) 00:15, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:32, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Removing The Conflict of Interest Tag

Hi, hope you are doing well!

I noticed that you added a Conflict of Interest (COI) tag to article "The Chenab Times". I want to assure you that I have no connection to the subject of the article and I am not sure why the COI tag was added.

As I was the creator of that article, I do recall a wiki user messaging some administrators or editors about this article, but the issue was resolved and it was determined that the wiki user was a sock puppet.

I would appreciate it if you could please remove the COI tag from the article as it is not warranted. This is the first article in my life which I created and got COI tag. Strange!

Thank you for your attention to this matter.❯❯❯ Chunky aka Al Kashmiri (✍️) 13:21, 7 January 2023 (UTC)

Ireti Kingibe Wikipedia Page

Hello, 8 months ago you nominated a page i created for deletion because the person (Ireti Kingibe) was not notable. Ireti Kingibe just won her senatorial election in Nigeria recently, how do i recover the page that was deleted? Arthur Igwe (talk) 22:48, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

@Arthur Igwe (talk page watcher) you would be better advised to create a brand new article based on high quality references using the process at WP:AFC. There is a process outlined in this essay which will assist you.
The difficulty you face is if the eventual article is too similar to that deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ireti Kingibe; if it is it is unlikely to be acepted. It needs to be substantially different. I suggest you concentrate only on their elected status and show that they pass WP:NPOLITICIAN. Do not be tempted to write too much. All you want to do is to get the draft accepted. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:58, 27 February 2023 (UTC)

Hi Praxidicae, I've been attempting to clean up the contributions of User:Stumink's latest socks. Thanks. ~Anachronist (talk) 17:26, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

Nevermind, I figured it out. I did some cleanup in the article and removed the undsclosed paid editing tag. @Primefac: I have closed the VRT ticket. Oddly, the sender's email would not appear in the 'To' field when I replied; I had to add it manually. ~Anachronist (talk) 07:02, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

Wikipedia:WikiProject African diaspora exists. I haven't had a lot of success posting there. I created Draft:Missing Pieces which was moved to my userspace. I think user:PigeonChickenFish has also been developing a project list. He's done fantastic work on many of the missing subjects. I would Love User:Missvain to create a project analogous to the Women in Red effort. I'm happy to help wherever it would be most useful. FloridaArmy (talk) 18:43, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

This is one of my favorite subjects. I would be glad to have help with it or better yet to see it moved to mainspace. If it's not notable it at least warrants an AfD discussion. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:15, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

I Love that William Shatner narrates a documentary film on patents and "Edith Bunker" narrates another on 1920s films. FloridaArmy (talk) 17:17, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

I accepted, obviously. That never should've been declined. Please let me know of any others. Anything I'm unsure about, I'll ask you about but again, the inclination to decline offline sourced stuff (which wasn't even the case here imo) is silly if you can at least verify it exists and at minimum should be AFD'd rather than dying at AFC.
Oh no, am I becoming an inclusionist in my old age of 35?! PICKLEDICAE🥒 17:43, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

New pages patrol newsletter

Hello Praxidicae,

New Page Review article queue, March to September 2023

Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!

October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.

PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.

Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.

Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.

November Articles for creation backlog drive

Hello Praxidicae:

WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than 2 months outstanding reviews from the current 4+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 November 2023 through 30 November 2023.

You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.

Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.

There is a backlog of over 2500 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:24, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Nomination of Election denial movement for deletion

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Election denial movement is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Election denial movement until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished. rootsmusic (talk) 22:18, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

@Rootsmusic I’m confused why you’ve notified me of this. I don’t recall editing this in any significant way. PICKLEDICAE🥒 14:31, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi. Mihai Precup was proposed for deletion with the comment: "Standard civil servant, no particular claim of notability".

I reviewed the article several hours later, machine-translating its Romanian language refs. Precup was clearly notable based on the refs.[3],[4],[5] For this reason, I removed the PROD tag with the edit summary "remove PROD. Looks clearly notable based on the refs. Take to AfD if you still feel it needs deletion".

Just one minute later, you moved the article to draft space with the edit summary "Praxidicae moved page Mihai Precup to Draft:Mihai Precup over a redirect without leaving a redirect: Not ready for mainspace, incubate in draftspace (via script)".

I'm confused - why?

Thanks,

--A. B. (talkcontribsglobal count) 00:43, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

I think the edit summary is pretty evident, I just came across it patrolling pages and looking for spam links of which this had many. If you feel I erred, feel free to move it back. That being said, it's straight up spam anyway. PICKLEDICAE🥒 20:32, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

You seem to really want to stand on the hill of not wanting the artist's Wiki to be accurately titled under their real name, and allow them to hide behind some kind of alias. That's fine, as I don't care much either way. If you stand by the WP:COMMONNAME argument, so be it.

What matters, however, is the general concept of all articles being relevant and informative. Your blanket reversions are damaging that cause.

Valid citations and quotes were provided to inform the public of the actual name and facts about the subject/person. Fight for the article not do be moved without further citation, if you want, but don't let yourself be blinded from why we're all here: information. We can all be warned of this. Metlurg (talk) 19:41, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

You seem to not have the ability to read simple policies. PICKLEDICAE🥒 19:42, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
You seem to be harping on irrelevant arguments, with all due respect. I gave up the page move concept long ago. Nothing I've done lately combats that. But your reversions to base content make no sense, frankly, as explained above.
Not that it's new for "long timer" Wikipedians, but you've let your desire to "win" something here, get in the way of everyone's right to edit articles with informative and relevant content. Likewise, it will be reviewed in the community. Metlurg (talk) 19:47, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
"irrelevant arguments" based on what? Enlighten me. And please learn to use proper indentation. PICKLEDICAE🥒 19:52, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
I've explained what "irrelevant arguments" is based on. It is irrelevant, at this stage, that you attack me based on an old effort to move the page with a new name. I think it's a hill you're more concerned with standing on, than I.
As explained repeatedly in multiple spaces, my argument has been that your blanket reversions to the article body (setting it back to a poor standard that is months and months old) is damaging. If you'd care to notice, you've wiped out restored archival links, citation quotes and new-found information with your overreaching actions.
Evidently, all in the name of winning a dead "edit war" over the page's name/move history, which is no longer the point of contention to anyone. Bizarre. Metlurg (talk) 19:57, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Ok, discuss it on the talk page or get blocked for not doing so. I don't really care. PICKLEDICAE🥒 20:18, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
You seem to really do. But okay! Talk already happening over there. Cheers. Metlurg (talk) 20:19, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Please just go away. PICKLEDICAE🥒 20:22, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

Hello, Praxidicae,

This article has been draftified several times so was not eligible to be moved to Draft space again. In fact, an admin returned it to main space after the second draftification. I'd move it back myself but the draft creator has submitted it for AFC review so I don't want to interfere with that process. But it's a reminder, please check the page history before draftifying an article. If the article creator has objected and moved it to main space, it shouldn't be draftified again. See WP:DRAFTOBJECT. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 04:08, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

ANI Notice RE: QuillBot Draftification, and WP:DRAFTOBJECT

Hello, due to violation of WP:DRAFTOBJECT I have started an ANI inquiry. This is not meant to be malicious.

You can see it here

Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Repeated draftification; possible admin negligence Comintell (talk) 05:01, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

This is another notice to let you know I have since moved the page back to mainspace per guidelines. Comintell (talk) 05:13, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
Fine by me. I don’t have any intention of contacting or bothering with this obvious spam. Whatever comes of the ANI thread is fine. GRINCHIDICAE🎄 17:40, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

"Dab Rules"?

You changed a recent page move regarding the King Oscar (company) page citing "Dab rules" but failed to explain what those are. Could you explain those instead of just name dropping them? A MINOTAUR (talk) 22:34, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) @A MINOTAUR: I believe the guidance being cited can be found at WP:DAB, or more specifically, WP:NCDAB.
I often find that if there is an acronym used somewhere I'm unfamiliar with, usually I can capitalise it and put "WP:" in front and find a redirect to a relevant page. stwalkerster (talk) 00:44, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
Thank you stwalkerster - that's much more helpful to me! A MINOTAUR (talk) 02:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC) A MINOTAUR (talk) 02:40, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

Can you suggest changes on this biography article?

Hello @Praxidicae, You reviewed my Draft of mine yesterday. Thank you for taking the time! For the last 2 months, I’ve been taking advice from several editors to help me write my first biography articles. I learn at each stage, and really appreciate the time taken. This was the first time I submitted my draft on Deron Triff. You mentioned both the tone and sources in the rejection. I am already working to address this. (I had received feedback to make the article more about the person than his companies. It was good advice but I think I went too far). One challenge that I don’t know how to solve is how to fill in professional details that aren’t mentioned in news articles? An example is the exact dates he worked for different companies. I was using a primary source for those. (A LinkedIn profile) Is there a better way to do it?  Thank you in advance. Podcast Lover (talk) 16:05, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

(by talk reader) @Podcast Lover: "how to fill in professional details that aren’t mentioned in news articles" Wikipedia only communicates what reliable sources say. The media will always miss some facets of a subject and that's ok. Here it does not matter what is actually true. Why are those details necessary? Chris Troutman (talk) 16:17, 25 March 2024 (UTC)
Thank you @Chris troutman. Your question above is freeing. Why are those details necessary? Maybe the details are not necessary! I had not come across that essay before. It's a different way of looking at the world, and I think it will really help me. Thank you! Podcast Lover (talk) 16:42, 25 March 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024

Hello Praxidicae,

New Page Review queue January to March 2024

Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.

Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.

Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.

It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!

2023 Awards

Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!

WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.

Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.

Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
