Okay thank you for letting me know.

Human Society[edit]

Hello,

I reverted your edits on the Human Society page because the addition of a local shelter was a non-notable example for the larger topic. There's no reason to list that one example any more than one of the several thousand other locations, something that causes the page to lengthen exponentially.

Speedy deletion nomination of Wag![edit]

Hello Pmkucer,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Wag! for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. TheLongTone (talk) 15:21, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

And of course another huge problem with using Wikipedia for English assignments is that somebody will muck the whole thing up by whipping your prose into shape.TheLongTone (talk) 13:18, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Thanks A.Minkowiski. Hi, Pmkucer, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • Wikipedia is a serious project, not somewhere for school projects, your teacher should have given you proper guidance
  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the company, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company claims or interviewing its management. Your only refs were to the company itself, obviously not independent third-party sources
  • You give no evidence to show that it actually meets the notability criteria, such as independently verified download numbers, sales or profits, or awards it has received
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: become popular in many cities in California... to make dog ownership easy for busy people... All of the walkers for Wag! are background checked and certified.—you are just regurgitating what the company claims about itself

I think the above probably says all I might have said on the Wag! talk page... sorry if all this has put you off Wikipedia; BLAME YOUR TEACHER!.TheLongTone (talk) 13:34, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
