Featured Articles[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Newcomers help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I noticed you are known only as an IP address; that means you are not signed up. To sign up, you only need to click Create account and choose a username and password. You don't need to provide any personal information. If you sign up, you'll have a username that others can use to recognize you and leave you messages on the wiki. You'll be able to sign your name just by typing four tildes (~~~~) when you leave someone else a message. Plus, you (and others) will easily be able to see a list of all your contributions to Wikipedia.

If you have any questions, see the help pages, ask at the Village pump, or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!

Please do not add articles to Wikipedia:Featured Articles. Before being listed here, an article must go through the process of Wikipedia:Featured Article Candidates. It is not permissible to simply add articles without going through this process first. Thanks, — BrianSmithson 18:31, 27 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

vanity[edit]

It is felt that the article you created at Martha Whittington is not suitable for a Wikipedia article, which must have a notable subject and be verifiable. I have moved it to User:Platinumpony, which is where users are free to write about themselves. You are at liberty to move it back into the (Main) namespace but bear in mind that if you do so, it is likely to be nominated for deletion.

Note, however, that the purpose of a user page is to enable active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal homepage. Content unrelated to Wikipedia or its editing is likely to be removed.

Please see the user page guidelines, especially this section for more information.

Your sole reason for contributing to Wikipedia is to promote your books. If your work is notable, someone else will write about you in due course. -- RHaworth 10:27, 28 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article User:Platinumpony, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at [[Talk:User:Platinumpony]]. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Image:MW1.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:MW1.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —Calton | Talk 23:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC) --Calton | Talk 23:54, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
