Unfortunately, you are incorrect. She is NOT a member of the house until sworn and seated. Even if you were correct that she took office the moment she was elected - she was not elected until after 12:30 BST - WHEN THE RESULT CAME OUT. rohrfloteRohrflote (talk) 12:49, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

To the best of my knowledge they were not elected during a parliamentary break. Also, even the Conservative party website confirms my position that she is NOT an MP. http://www.conservatives.com/News/News_stories/2009/07/Chloe_Smith_wins_Norwich_North_byelection.aspx —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rohrflote (talkcontribs) 12:58, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I respectfully ask you to reread what you wrote to me: "MPs take office as the polls close (even though the result is not known). The oath just allows MPs to sit in the House of Commons. So Chloe Smith has been an MP since the polls last night." As a student of political science, you must understand how totally wrong this assertion is, namely that someone elected to an office is actually an office holder before they know that they've been elected? Come on, you're a smart person... don't make such silly claims just because your pride got a little ruffled because I pointed out your mistake. Rohrflote (talk) 13:02, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm taking my info from several sources - the Conservative party website, several British news agencies, and the Parliamentary website itself. I'm glad she won too, but you really should at least look at what you're writing.Rohrflote (talk) 13:15, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent addition of a bio to the Tuti Yusupova article is very similarly worded to the Reuters report at http://rtv.rtrlondon.co.uk/2009-01-28/13606409.html

Although facts can't be copyrighted, their expression can. Perhaps you could watch the clip, and read the multiple news reports, and write these facts in your own words? -- The Anome (talk) 10:00, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Inara Serra1.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Inara Serra1.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:10, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit to Prime Minister of the United Kingdom[edit]

Your recent edit to PM of the UK article does not fit where you put it. It might fit elsewhere, for example in section 5.4.Sir Cloudesley Shovel II (talk) 12:34, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Marina Wheeler[edit]

I have nominated Marina Wheeler, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Marina Wheeler. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Replaceable fair use Image:Michael Foot.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Michael Foot.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 16:58, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Status of File:President_Obama_Re-Takes_Oath.ogg on Commons[edit]

(message also left on User:Talk page in Commons)

Assuming that you were the contributor for the audio file referred on the subject line, what's the current status of the deletion request? It's been open since the third week of January 2009. The file for the retake of the oath is used currently in the Inauguration of Barack Obama article. The article is now undergoing a FA review, and the status of the file has become an issue. Nationality[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you have taken some interest in the infoboxes of politicians. Could you possibly go to Talk:Alex Salmond and comment on the nationality field. He obviously considers himself to be Scottish, but as I far as I am aware Scottish nationality has no legal status. Thanks. Viewfinder (talk) 11:54, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other titles in infoboxes[edit]

Would you be able to help include Vilasrao Deshmukh as Chief Minister for S. M. Krishna while the latter was Governor? I've put in the 1blankname and 1namedata used in Brian Cowen's page but it still won't show. Therequiembellishere (talk) 17:29, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of European Parliament election, 2014 (United Kingdom)[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article European Parliament election, 2014 (United Kingdom), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Per WP:FUTURE. List of candidate parties is pure speculation at this point

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Harriet Harman[edit]

I gather from Therequiembellishere's page that you have a keen interest in UK government. I need your help. Would you be so kind as to take a look at Talk:Harriet Harman#Harriet Harperson. I'm not asking you to agree with me, but merely to provide a fresh pair of eyes. The debate has gotten long, so it may be easier to start by reading the second half of the section that follows that one, called "Serious matter". Based on the other editor's contribution in those places and at my talk page, I am starting to have trouble assuming good faith. Whenever that happens, I try mightily to get someone else to step in with a fresh perspective before I let my temper get the best of me. Given your interest in UK government, you have the right background to address the issue. I hope you will help. Cheers! -Rrius (talk) 02:06, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there, as creator of Template:Age in years and months, would it be possible for you to make it so that, when the output is less than 1 year, it displays "0 years, x months"? If not, could you tell me how I could make the output sortable in a table? I'm trying to use the template in Radio 1 Breakfast Show presenters, but the "Duration" column won't sort properly. – PeeJay 09:18, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've modified the template to allow for this. Just put s0y=yes into your template, for example {{Age in years and months|2009|01|01|s0y=yes}} will return 15 years, 4 months. --Philip Stevens (talk) 10:22, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
