Speedy deletion of Doda, wife of St Arnulf[edit]

A tag has been placed on Doda, wife of St Arnulf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. chiefhuggybear (talk) 21:43, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Golden River City Jazz Band, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.roelen.com/entertainment/nl/performers/Golden-River-City-Jazz-Band. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. {{hangon}}==Speedy deletion nomination of Cees van den Heuvel==

A tag has been placed on Cees van den Heuvel requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Your Articles For Creation Submission[edit]

Your nomination at Articles for Creation was declined, and Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Bill Greenow (jazz) was not created. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! --Pumpmeup 15:12, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Golden River City Jazz Band requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Copyright problem: The Golden River City Jazz Band[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as The Golden River City Jazz Band, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.roelen.com/entertainment/nl/performers/Golden-River-City-Jazz-Band, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:The Golden River City Jazz Band saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! VernoWhitney (talk) 13:15, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As the article was not entirely a copyright violation, I have removed the speedy delete tag from it. It is, however, mostly a close paraphrase of the same source, and so I have blanked the majority of the page. That portion of the page will need to be rewritten completely or removed. VernoWhitney (talk) 13:15, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Superior Dance Band has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article has been tagged for some months but remains unreferenced and no evidence provided or found that this band meets the notability guidelines for musicians.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AllyD (talk) 13:51, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jean-Jacques Pieters has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kortrijk, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Battle of Courtrai (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A page you started (Dolichovespula (pacifica) xanthicincta) has been reviewed![edit]

Thanks for creating Dolichovespula (pacifica) xanthicincta, Pdekyvere!

Wikipedia editor Nick Moyes just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Please create a page for D. pacifica and then add the information on this subspecies to that page, please. Then create a redirect to it - that would make a lot more sense for anyone searching for this taxon. Please also add categories. And where are these yellow markings, instead of white ones? It's not at all clear, or indeed helpful as it stands. Please add a taxobox, too

To reply, leave a comment on Nick Moyes's talk page.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Issorium requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Notice

The article Moonshine (nonsense) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I erroneously put up as CSD when WP:NOTDIC is correctly a PROD. This is a routine dictionary definition that is better put in a dictionary than Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a dictionary. No evidence of independent notability of this definition has been found.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Global templates[edit]

Hi,

Thanks for your comments on mw:Talk:Content translation!

Some of your comments there are about templates and citations. I'll reply to them here, because they are definitely related to Content Translation, but they cannot be resolved as part of the Content Translation project itself. Resolving them will require major changes in the template infrastructure and in the templates themselves.

As a pet project, I wrote an initial, albeit rather detailed, proposal about it could be done. You can read the introduction at mw:Global templates, a short specification document at mw:Global templates/Proposed specification, short version, and a (much) longer specification document at mw:Global templates/Proposed specification. It is not an official or funded project at the moment, but it may become an official project in the future, so I am very interested in any feedback that wiki editors may have. It sounds like you are interested in this topic, so I'd love to hear your comments at mw:Global templates/Discuss or mw:Talk:Global templates/Proposed specification.

Epithets section of Artemis article[edit]

Hi, Pdekyvere. On 16 January 2020, you made significant changes to the Epithets section of the Artemis article. In the paragraph that starts "As Artemis Isora also known as Isoria or Issoria...", I don't see how the references you gave support that material. Cite templates support a |quote= parameter that allows the specific text that supports material to be quoted. Could you provide the specific information you are using to verify this material? Siege of Lille (1297) moved to draftspace[edit]

Unfortunately, an article you recently created Siege of Lille (1297), is not ready as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage with citations from reliable and independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG.
