Pâte à choux[edit]

Your etymology for Pâte à choux is correct — it does come from "chaud". I've edited the article, and included a reference.

By the way, you are probably mistaken about duct tape. The form "duck tape" came first, according to the Oxford English Dictionary. Duck is a lightweight cotton canvas, used for sails, tents, and sailor's clothing. The OED has a citation from 1902: Brooklyn Daily Eagle 21 Nov 1902, 15/2. "Considering..that 100,000 yards of cotton duck tape must be wrapped around the cable [of the Williamsburg bridge] with neatness and exactitude, it may be imagined that this method of cable preservation is quite expensive." --ABehrens (talk) 05:47, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
