MiLB Rosters[edit]

Hi! Thanks for your edits to several minor league team rosters. I wanted to let you know that, just like MLB team rosters (i.e. Template:Chicago Cubs roster), players and coaches should be organized alphabetically by position. Also, don't forget to pipe links so Michael Ryan (baseball) looks like Michael Ryan by placing a | after the parts in parenthesis. One more thing, remember to change the date in the template to the date of your update. Let me know if I can be of any help with these things or anything else. NatureBoyMD (talk) 04:00, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oh my bad I thought you did it in the order of their numbers. ParkerLyme (talk) 04:01, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. It can be confusing, because Template:Chicago Cubs roster navbox (for example) does organize players by number, but the regular rosters are sorted alphabetically. :) NatureBoyMD (talk) 04:03, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay cool I will remember that for future reference. ParkerLyme (talk) 04:07, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

blocking on french version[edit]

hi there! i am a big fan of baseball too! i will need help with something, i am bilingual (english and french) and i have a problem on the frontier league’s wikipedia’s french page version. can you help me with it?

thanks! NickTheGrape (talk) 20:02, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would be more than happy to help if I can, I don’t know French but if there is a way I can help I would be glad! ParkerLyme (talk) 20:43, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Don't. Nick is indeffed on the French Wikipedia. He's a serial sockpuppeteer and will be blocked here immediately. Don't help him. oknazevad (talk) 09:10, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Blake Sims[edit]

It looks like many of these smaller leagues don't have transactions announcements, so in the case of Blake Sims, I added a source for a Frisco Fighters game recap that he was mentioned in (my edit). An official announcement would be best here, but since there isn't one, this will be sufficient to satisfy Wikipedia's verifiability policy. Thanks for helping with this! Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:35, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah sorry about that man I tried to search high and low but the best I could do is find him listed on the roster. There was no official announcement of his signing which was weird considering he is their starting QB 😂 ParkerLyme (talk) 21:37, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

TSL Infoboxes[edit]

Hi @ParkerLyme. Curious to hear your thoughts on TSL accolades being added to players' infoboxes? I've noticed you have made edits on several pages related to these leagues- TSL, USFL. I brought up this topic - (here), but no one has responded. I feel as though any TSL awards/accomplishments should be added to these players' pages, as well-established + reliable sources have credited these players and their earned achievements on national television, as well as on the internet worldwide. I can provide examples as well if needed. Again, just want to give credit where credit is due. Thanks! Vitaminwaterzero0 (talk) 23:07, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man yeah I think that they should be added especially the USFL! I even think if a player has played in the XFL, CFL, and USFL during the regular season they should meet article qualifications. ParkerLyme (talk) 02:51, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome, I agree! Taking a look and I notice that Ryan Willis has the MVP accolade on this infobox, but Bryan Scott does not. I guess I am not understanding the discrepancy- any insight? Thanks! Vitaminwaterzero0 (talk) 15:39, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
None that I know of. I think it should be included but I am not sure why it isn’t. ParkerLyme (talk) 01:09, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks @ParkerLyme Is there anyway you could help me in adding to Bryan Scott's page? Again I just think it is fair for any MVP to have the accolade added to his/her page. Vitaminwaterzero0 (talk) 16:27, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Adding @Issacs+1010 as he was able to add Ryan Willis TSL MVP accolades to the infobox. Vitaminwaterzero0 (talk) 16:29, 17 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

June 2023[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. 331dot (talk) 07:28, 4 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Transactions[edit]

Hi ParkerLyme. Thanks for your work in keeping the CFL roster templates up to date. One thing though: when you update a template such as Template:Calgary Stampeders roster, could you also make sure to update the corresponding navbox (Template:Calgary Stampeders roster navbox)? As I noticed there's several of them (e.g. Template:Winnipeg Blue Bombers roster navbox) that are several months outdated. Thanks. BeanieFan11 (talk) 16:34, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Okay I will make note of that man! Thanks! ParkerLyme (talk) 17:07, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please use edit summaries[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! – Jonesey95 (talk) 17:09, 23 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Updating for the defunct USFL/XFL teams[edit]

Hi ParkerLyme. I appreciate you updating player articles to state that they're free agents after their XFL/USFL team has folded, but do you think you could maybe add in the prose some kind of text such as The team was discontinued when the XFL and USFL merged.? I think it would be better for our readers as otherwise they see text stating that "[name] was signed by [team] on [date]" and nothing else whereas the lead states they're a free agent, which could be confusing. BeanieFan11 (talk) 20:17, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh absolutely man! I will be right on that! 2600:1008:B0AF:9AC1:8116:DFC3:E604:D080 (talk) 20:18, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Semicolons[edit]

ParkerLyme, you're misusing semicolons in many of your edits, like at Morris Lolar. You want a comma to separate off the clause "a position he has held..." Thanks, Jweiss11 (talk) 20:38, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Jweiss11 Okay I will go ahead and fix the pages I did that for! Thanks! ParkerLyme (talk) 20:44, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also @Jweiss11 I tried the best I could to fix up the Martin Mathis page. That was the only information I could find. ParkerLyme (talk) 20:52, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Coaches articles for deletion[edit]

@ParkerLyme, I am going to assume some of these coach pages I make will get deleted due to the lack of sources (Brett Guminsky) so if you want to help find sources for them and/or build upon the stub that I have on some of these to help them not get lost to the AFD process that'd be cool, but 100% not required if you are not up for it. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 00:00, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Thetreesarespeakingtome What kinds of articles and references do we need? ParkerLyme (talk) 00:01, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can make the articles no problem, it's keeping them from being deleted since NAIA and D3 coaches are generally not counted as automatically notable like D1 and D2 coaches are. I had Anthony Van Curen moved to draft space the other day but i have since had it restored to main space. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 00:04, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Thetreesarespeakingtome I tried looking around for secondary sources on Brett and it is really difficult to find a good secondary source about him, like there is football scoop, KIJL radio, etc. I could send you the links to those articles if you want to help save the article. ParkerLyme (talk) 04:33, 26 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help with sources[edit]

Hey @ParkerLyme, whenever you have time could you do me a favor and find some independent sources for Draft:Jason Lebeau so it can be ready for main space? Thank you. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 03:54, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure man! ParkerLyme (talk) 05:16, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Same with Draft:Adam Hicks (American football) (you requested). @ParkerLyme. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 20:42, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I can do that when I get done with my Homework tonight! ParkerLyme (talk) 20:43, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will take a look man! ParkerLyme (talk) 03:56, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose I found that the gap and lack of a coaching position is literally just that. Right here stating that [1]. I just thought it was weird for them to hire a coach who hadn't coached in a few years but they did. Thetreesarespeakingtome (talk) 12:36, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
