Reply: If you seriously think the article has merit enough to have a spot on Wiki, I recommend that you read this page for instructions on how to request undeletion. You can also talk to the administrator who deleted your article (Joyous!). As I am not an administator (though would like to be one someday), I cannot personally restore your article. Amador Family page deletion[edit]

Hello - Why did you delete this page within seconds of my creating it? I thought the Speedy Deletion guidelines state that a reasonable amount of time should be given to the creator of the page to add content?

The Amador family has been heavily involved in Northern New Mexico, including politics - which is why Governor Bill Richardson just dedicated and renamed a government building there this past Tuesday to Albert Amador Jr. , a previous state senator, state legislator, and member of the board of education.

I just proposed for the article to be deleted (not just because I thought it was a personal article, but because the subject was non-notable). Fundamentalism[edit]

Hi there! You're right about the origins of Christian fundamentalism; that userbox of mine is more of a cri-de-cœur than anything. Perhaps I should have said that '[they] should read the words and actions of Jesus more often:' What I was trying to argue was that many of the unsympathetic and hardline individuals who claim an affinity with Jesus are far removed from his ideologies, and for his sympathy with humankind. Some individuals are spreading hate, killing and pushing people to the margins of society, in the name of Jesus, saying that He hates homosexuals, or those with gender dysphoria, or whatever offends their own sensibilities. What they use to substantiate this odium is rather vague passages from the Old Testament, or on the letters of St. Paul, who, I believe, had a drastically different ideal of Christianity to Christ himself. If they based their lives on the tenant, 'What would Jesus do,' they would see that Jesus offered his love to everyone, to the point that he spent much of his life with the 'undesirables' of his day. I enjoyed your (very cogent) arguments; as for your worry that you may offend individuals reading this, I doubt that anyone much is reading my talk page, and even so, I can't see what is wrong with a civilised ideological exchange.

By the way, in case I'm mistaken, I was not calling those don't believe in same-sex sexual relations 'fundamentalists' at all, but rather those who attack these individuals physically and psychologically. Indeed, though I support gay people to do what they please, I myself have similar ideals to you on the matter. I think that it is unhealthy that one can only be affectionate towards and have love for half of the world (which often leads to either complete degeneracy, or emotional repression,) but at the same time, I feel that it would be better if, in both 'same-sex' and 'heterosexual' relationships, the purpose of the relationship was not to fulfil sexual urges, but instead to know and love each other on a higher level.

I agree with you that G-d and Jesus are, and should not be, permissive of everything that happens upon this earth. It would be rank folly if they were, and murderers, child-abusers and the like could continue in their deeds with relative spiritual impunity. Condemnation and protection often go hand in hand. The thing that irks me (other than my belief that gender is more of a mental thing than anything) is how people are so steadfast to that passage in Leviticus, and can completely reject most of the other rules laid down there and within the O.T. The word used to describe homosexuality- tō`bā, described in the past as an 'abomination' and now as 'reprehensible'- was also used to describe using crooked weights and measurements; children arguing with their parents; masturbation; eating lobster, pig, and other such unclean animals; or animals killed in an unsavoury way; and letting those who have not been circumsised into holy places. I see all of them (except, perhaps, the last) as being rather serious contradictions of biblical law; now, most of these are not seen as 'sins' at all. Can it be right that we are so staunchly in favour of some passages of the bible, and completely dismissive of others? For something proclaimed as the divine works, can it be right to have such a pick-and-mix attitude towards it?

"Mike Bailey" wiki page[edit]

I dont think this page should be speedily deleted.
The information is relevant to its niche. The current "speedy deletion" label suggests an informed judgement of the content and tarnishes its ongoing relevance to the wiki community.
The page name "Mike bailey" should be edited/renamed to read "Mike Bailey" as it is a proper noun.

Hello! I would urge you to withdraw from the RfA process as it is highly unlikely that you are going to be granted access to admin tools at this point. The main reason that voters are pointing towards is lack of experience, which can only come with time and contributions. I would begin to participate in XfD discussions; join a Wikiproject such as Esperanza, which I see from above that you already have; watch for vandals and revert their efforts whilst alerting admins at WP:ANI and also edit articles - finding sources and references and perhaps joining in Featured Article and Good Article improvement drives. All of these will be useful work and will serve to raise your profile such that another RfA in 3-4 months' time will be a much stronger application. HI PBP, Thank you for your note. You mention that I deleted the "Notability Tag" without discussion. Actually I kinda did add discussion into the article itself pointing out his notability...thus I saved my breath on the talk page. By the way, FYI, in the wiki guidelines it mentions that a scientist that is a PhD advisor of a notable scientist is also counted as notable. In this case Roscoe is the advisor of a Nobel prize winner. So there should be no problem. Let me know your thoughts and if u agree. Also I disagree with merging his biography with that of Linus Pauling. Do you put that merge tag there? There are no merged biographies on wikipedia! I'm taking off the merge tag as it is not the done thing for biographies. If lack of content is your objection, then please wait for the article to be expanded. Thank you for your reply and I understand that your opinion isn't going to change but it is going to be difficult for me ever to write an article if the Butterley Tunnel fails to get an article on the basis of notability.

There are seven British canal tunnels with their own page in Wikipedia. Only two of these tunnels are longer. According to Wikipedia itself, if this canal were repaired, and that is the plan, it would be the ninth longest navigable canal tunnel in the world. There are no British Canal tunnels which also have an underground wharf to load coal directly from an adjacent coalmine into barges within the tunnel. This tunnel is unique in this respect in Britain (citation already exists). It is possible that this makes it unique in the world. What does a structure need to be considered notable?

Dear P.B.Pilhet

We will soon know eachover very well I think. I do not intend to name the tunnels concerned. I of course consider them all to be notable and deserving of their own pages. I do not want to play any part in their demise. Unlike you, I believe that people do look for information on tunnels in Wikipedia and that there are people whose specific interest is tunnels not the canals, roads or railways which pass through them. After all this is what I was attempting to find when I noticed that Butterley tunnel had been overlooked. I wouldn't expect you to consign the Channel Tunnel to a sub section of the railway which passes through it. It stands alone as the engineering marvel it is. The Butterley tunnel was the Channel Tunnel of its day and of course I for one consider it notable. I believe that Wikipedia is what the internet is for. A place where you can find information on just about anything. It seems to me that oficianados of rock music will not consider tunnels notable and engineers (which I am) will not consider rock bands notable. Perhaps Wikipedia needs administrative sections which contain engineering focus groups, rock music focus groups etc. so that engineers don't end up deciding on the notability of Mozart.

Images[edit]

I have uploaded images (logos) to the swim ~ and pinkflag pages neither of which seem to show up (although you see the file name displayed). I just copied the wiki code from the 4AD & Harvest Records , uploaded in the usual way and then changed the file name on the relevant page. I put images on other pages which seemed to take a while to show up (the one on the Max Franken page took a while but it showed up after a few hours. Don't get it.
